  1. Yesterday I LMAO because some here don't have a clue. We (yes I am In claycomo) are going through much change, and with little comunication. Sure if we communicate things would be better. A strike vote doesn't mean you will strike it shows the Company that the members will stand together or will not stand together for what they believe is there CONTRACTUAL RIGHT. It's not about liking your job or not. It's all about will I live to see tomorrow are is this good for my health. In some cases there are jobs that's light and Jobs that are overloaded. from some of your comments you have basically stated that our members can build the whole car in a minute. If a job is overloaded and a person must run to keep it up. ( not get a drink, have no strength to go to rest room on break, has to sit 20 to 30 minutes before departing your job after work because you are tired.) Yes I also was and still can perform most jobs on the line, But I am not your average person. But I am aware as I get older my body is able to perform less than it was when I was 20 years old. so why do we expect 40 , fifty year old to be on back breaking jobs while 20 year old are sitting by watching and doing crossword puzzles. Politics as usual, you must stand up for what is right, yes we all loose if we should go on strike (I doubt it) but if it comes to it I am with my brothers and sisters 100 percent. we have switched from having two shifts on each side of the plant to have 3 on one side and one on the other, people have had to learn new jobs. we have went through two rebalance, we have gotten a new plant manager. all of these things have happened and both sides have not communicated effectively what is going on/ We both are winners so far, because as we vote on a strike authorization, both parties are currently meeting and the quality of our product is improving everyday. The bottom line is the customer, the company is not the only one that looks out for the best interest of the company, the UAW does as well. Overtime is not an issue, it's the timely matter it is communicated. tell me Monday I'm working Saturday, don't wait till Friday and tell me tomorrow you work when I have made plans with my family. The company already have the right to work us 12 hours a day up to 6 days a week. just let us know by communicating with us. Ok I will go back to being a reader, I don't like posting on here , I just couldn't stand people commenting on what they had NO knowledge of.
  2. Reverand Lowery is a preacher from the MLK days, he only quoted a quote that has been used through out history. During the bombing and bus boycots this saying was used. So Lowery only continued the use quotes from MLK days when Blacks where treated unfairly "when whites embrace whats right". This quote was meant to show america that we have finally reach Kings dream. Sorry if any of you got offended but it was what it was.
  3. http://www.riverfronttimes.com/2001-12-19/...rk-and-no-pray/ Maybe this will help you, it's a hard battle but there is something there. It might be easier to change shifts if you have the seniority. I do understand but i believe you wont get anywhere on here.
  4. Most people I know get a nice size return back after the initial 40 %. so from what i have heard is overall they received more than 60% after they filed.

  8. Wishing you all good luck, I was Numb when STL went down and after everyone was gone and a few left to close things out it hit me. wishing those who would love a second chance , just that. I am in KC now trying to get 10 more.
  9. Deboodt Good luck in AAI, I wish you where here in KC, cause we miss you and toms leadership, and the time you spent on the floor and making stuff happen. Some folk must understand you are indeed busy and that some chairman are never seen at all like here in kC. Ford truly is in dificult times and that said means we have a fight on our hands, that eventually many plants will lose. So i wish you the best and believe AAI have one of the best leaders amongst the plants right now.
  10. Yeah I'm Loving nights and have been treated well by all the KC folk. Glad to be on the truck side, didnt want the ten hours.
