  1. It is a sad state of affairs that we have one union brother fighting another for the same production of a unit. I was just reading the Detriot News and they had an article about how the International is putting a stop to this whippsawing of locals by GM. The National GM dept. is not allowing the company to put one local against another. It is just so sad that the National Ford dept. did not have any balls it put a stop to this shit. I understand that the COA is something we are all faced with. But I think it could have been handled alot better, and more fairly done at a national level.
  2. I bank @ National City Bank, and because I was putting most of it into differant accounts at the bank I got all of the $$$ right away. I was able to walk out with over 13k in cash and have another 15k put into checking to write checks on imediately. I guess it all depends on where you bank. Good Luck!
  3. I took the $100k buyout from KTP and I got the same thing in the mail yesterday, saying that all insurance was gone come march if I did not start paying for it. This is the second time I got a notice that my medical has been cancelled. The first one came right after the first of the year. I guess I am going to have to call the NESC monday and see what the hell is going on again. If you hear anything please post it....
  4. I got my check last saturday the 20th, my seperation date was 1-1-07. I cleared $62,555 after taxes. They only toke out federal, state and Jefferson Cty, taxes. I toke the 100k buyout. Good luck to all, I think I made the right choice for me.
  5. I called labor this morning and was told that they are contacting people as fast as possiable. They told me that my check was mailed, that I should have it by monday. So good luck to all, let me cash that check!!!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :shades:
  6. That figures, Thanks for the info. I was going to call up there tomorrow to see what is what. All I want is my damm check like everybody else.... Thanks Brother.
  7. I attended the meettings too, and read all the paperwork I could and I know it is only supose to be 6 months but that is what the rep. up in Detroit told me was in the computer, so that is all I know. But it is only 6 months or supose to be, but hell if we all can get that extra month then.... :happy feet:
  8. Hey Brothers and Sisters, Has anyone that has taken the buyout heard anything about our checks? <Vac., anything??> Back on the 21st of Dec. when I signed my final paper work, I was told that it could be as little as 10- 14 days. Rosie said to call in because she may not be able to call everyone. So I did just that this last thursday, not expecting them in but hoping to hear something and all I got from some woman was IT WILL BE 4 - 6 WEEKS!!!!! and she hung up... I called the NESC and they said my check had not been cut yet but was waiting to be cut that all other papers were done. So I was just wondering what anyone else has heard. I see on here that other plants are getting thiers in... So if you have any info. Pass it on to a brother. Thanks and good luck.
  9. Yes, we could back out of NAFTA, but it is not very likely. There is too much money to be had with it in effect. Free Trade is a good thing if it is truely free. The problem that we have in this country is that many other countries support thier industries. Where our gov't <under Bush really bad> screws out companies and helps forgien companies buy us out. We need a total change in gov't. We need National Health Care to start with. That would take the health care burden off our companies and allow U.S. workers to compete more evenly with thoose in Canada, Japan, and the E.U. Things here need to change yesterday and we as the people need to get off our asses and make it happpen.......
  10. I seperated on Jan 1, 07. I talked to NESC last week and they told me that my benifets would last until Aug. 1st Not sure if that was a mistake but when I asked the woman she said that she was sure, that, that was what the system said and it had jan 1 as my seperation. Good luck to you all.
  11. Good Luck to all of you who got your checks!!! I am waiting as easily as I can. I got paper work yesterday telling me my insurance had been cancelled. So I callled detroit and they told me not to worry but that I was INACTIVE now and that my check should be coming soon. I called KTP today and got some bitch who gave me the company line about how it will take 5-8 weeks for checks to come in. My check out day was the 1 st so I am not worried yet but it would be nice to get that check so I can start the rest of my life. Please let's keep everyone informed of what plant is getting the checks and when so we all can rest a litttle easier. We all know how well we can count on FORD to call us and tell us to come get our $$. LOL
  12. Hey Brothers and Sisters, Has anyone heard anything about the buyout checks for KTP/LAP? I seperated on Jan 1. I know it is early yet but one can aways dream right. I was told by labor that some plants were getting thier checks in this week. I just wondered if anyone else out there is waiting on KTP too. If you are please post any info you get. Good luck to you all. I will miss you but not the BS. Later
  13. We were told here at KTP that it could take 3-5 weeks but.... unofficailly they were expecting them to be in within 14-21days. I toke the STEP effective Jan 1. I am hoping it only takes 2 weeks and no longer. Good luck to you Brother.
  14. I also signed up for the buyout and was processed out on Jan 1. But I talked to labor and they told me when I was going to go. So I would tell you, for your hubby to go talk to labor and see what he can find out. What shift is he on? I know the nights reps are easier to get info out of, but talk to a Michelle Gieger on days. She is the one that was in charge of all that fun stuff.
  15. I am going to pay off all my debts except my truck. I should have about 25k left with that we are thinking about buying a new house, and investing some of it. Just tring to make it last as long as possiable ya know. With Uncle Sam taking so much right off the top, it does not leave enough to go crazy with.lol Could go to vegas for the weekend and have a party with the last 25k. :happy feet: :shades:
  16. You folks are some bitter ass mother F**Kers, Man I thought the moral on the line was low, but reading you guys talk about people is something else. You must remember that not all people are fakers, and not all thoose once you are on medical it is hard as hell to get back to a line job. Ford does not want to put you back to work for fear that you will get hurt again and that they will be liable. I know cause 15 yrs ago I got my foot pinched by a fork lift while I was putting fenders on the VX54. It messed up me being able to walk right for almost 2 yrs. I now have joint pain all the time when it gets cold. And I remember all the Doctors working the line, kept telling me how I was faking it and shit. That was all bull shit. When you get a medical degree then you can start telling people that they are faking it. I agree there are people in the system who need the boot, but to sit here and call all people that are out on medical fakers and that they should be fired is bull shit, and it is not the union protecting them it is the LAW giving them the few rights that they have. I have a good friend that I moved down from ohio with. She has been out on no work avaliavble for about 3 yrs now, she draws SSD, she has had her neck fused together. She can not afford to just quit. But ford will not let her come back to work. So a buyout is her only way out. She signed up for the educational buyout, and now hopes to get a office job. One thing on here that is right, is that not everyone is cut out to do this kind of work. It is hard and is only going to get harder. I hope none of you "DOCTORS" here never get hurt and never have to fill out medical forms, cause after the next contract maybe Ford will FIRE YOU for fakeing it!!!!!!!
  17. I think I will always support Ford, It is just in my blood, But I work at KTP also and I know alot of people who own chevy's. I don't see anything wrong with it. As long as it is Union made. I do not excuse those few who do own forgein models, THAT IS B.S. Don't lie about loving your Ford if you don't, it just makes you look stupid. Besides right now if I was to buy a new car it would probably be a GM, Ford does not have any cars I like that are AMERICAN MADE. Plus I have seen from friends that GM's cars and trucks are still cheaper than a compareable Ford on A-plan. THat is what I do not understand. Why should I pay top $ for a lack luster car. No wonder no one is buying our cars. It sucks. Ford needs to wake up and build somthing that people will pay top $ for, something to make people pashinate for the company again. Not just buying a ford for the sake of buying a ford. Just my opinon. BUT NEVER BUY A TOY......
  18. Honestly now!!! How damm long do you need to decide if you are happy enough to ride this out with the company or if you should take the money and run. We have all seen the writing on the wall for a long time now, what we did not know for sure was, would we be offered these buouts or would we simply be shown the door. I think a month to decide is enough, plus we had a month before the opening to make up your mind. If you can not decide in 2 months time what to do, then you better not even think of taking the buyout. You are better off being in a job that does not require thinking.... Just one assholes opinion...
  19. I will still only buy union made products, but I will look more at the content level of american parts are in the car verses just who's name is on the hood. I was looking at a new truck the other day and Ford still has an 85% content rate. But a friend of mine who just bought a damm chevy told showed me his content sheet and it was 90%. That extra 5% might make the differance for me down the road. 5% is alot of jobs. That is all I am saying. I never see my self driving a TOY, or HUNDAY. It just is not in me. But in yrs to come I might buy a GM.
  20. KTPWORKER69,, What has made you so hatefull of the union, what have they NOT done for you to make you get on here and do nothing but run them down? I have had my share of beefs with the things that the union does, both local, and National. But at the end of the day I know that I am still better off having a union card in my pocket, than being some scab over at TOY or Honda. I had a brother in law that worked at honda for about 3 yrs. He never missed a day and busted he ass. :kissass: He thought at that time the $14./hr they were paying him was great, This is back when I was makeing about $19. But then he had a child and he took some time off and the next thing he knew he was FIRED... :gang: So do not sing the praises of non-union plants saying that they are as good as ours. IF you guys believe that so much get your asses down to the employment office and go to work there....
  21. To the orginal ?'s, I do not know about LAP, but KTP has a shit load of people retireing, plus a good majority of the people hired in, in 93, we have a cpl 100 people from ohio that have 92' senority. 93' you should be able to hold any shift you want, and maybe get a bid job when one opens up. There are also alot of people that hired on in 95' then in 99' & 2000' so there would be a nice cushin below you. That is what keeps me going that atleast I am not at the bottom of the list anymore. The people here are great, and work well with each other. Schools in Oldham county are the best I think. But it is a pricey area to live in. Go to taylor or shellby counties if you like the country life. They also have decent schools. Don't get me wrong man Louisville is a great city to live in. If you are a city boy. It has a lot of things to do and is a great place to raise a family. I moved here from ohio in 98' and it was the best thing ever for me and my family. If you get a chance come on down, we would be happy to have ya. Good luck to you.
  22. Yeah it is huh, How people who have been screwed up for years can all the sudden be well again.... Maybe it is because they CAN work a short time but ford will not let them.. Have you ever thought that not everyone is not out to screw the system. I am sick of you assholes thinking you are better than eveyone else...... you think that cause you have been lucky and not striken with some illness or injury that F**** up your life that you are some how better than evey one else in the company or world for that matter.... What is wrong with you??????????????????????????? Geee whizz you act like some super that acts like every hour of overtime comes out of his pocket..... ya know what. take a jump with the sith lord and meet in hell for me ok..... :kissass:
  23. Geez Darh it sounds like you do.... I am a hard working empolyee of ford motor and I work hard for every $ that I have ever gotten from the company. But I know many people my self inculded who have had to go on medical for one reason or another and was thankful for the UNION benifets that were allowed to me... It may not set well with you but not everyone is scamming the system. Some people have real illnesses and real disablities that cause them not to work! ANd for you to act all holier than any one else makes me sick... I would love to talk some scence into you but you are truly brain dead so what good would it do me..?????? I love ford motor company, my family has been here for over 70 yrs. I just hate so see me fellow union brothers and sisters get the shaft from people like you..... I work my ass off everday so that every one of my brothers and sisters can have a better life. Not including my kids. I would leave ford but then what would I do?????? I have a degree in Respirtory Therapy, but Ford has been so much of my life from birth what the hell would I do?? I just want to see my friend taken care off, like she should be... There is nothing wrong with that I think!!!! Maybe I am wrong but I think every body should be able to take this buyout.. Not just the choosen few..... So feel free to take a flying leap off a building for me,....!!!!
  24. Thank you "oldasdirt" I am not saying that it is right or it is wrong. To allow people who are out on medical to take a buyout. My friend has been out for a few yrs, and is on Socail Security Disablity now, but she still is a Ford employee, a UAW member and still recieve's medical benifets from Ford and stuff, so it would be in the company's interest to let these people like her < cause there has to be thousands > to get off of the company's insurance plans. And for those of you that think it is wrong. I hope I NEVER see you DOGGING it out one day, blowing a day off work, or needing to be on medical for some reason in your time here at Ford. Give me a break no one is that damm perfect.....
