  1. I made the same mistake twice: I owned a 1998 and a 2002 Windstar. I decided to go with a small turbo diesel and manual transmission last year .Ford doesn't manufacture a product that I wanted, and I had to look elsewhere...
  2. Good eye...that's exactly what the Freestyle/Taurus X/Explorer has become...the only thing that Left LAP was the Explorer badge...
  3. Ford surprised Wall Street, making $2.6 billion in the quarter as it continued to grab sales from rivals. Ford's U.S. sales rose 28 percent in the first six months of this year. That's almost double the pace of industrywide sales... Too bad we have to wait until 2011...think we'll get anything that we gave away? Don't count on it...
  4. Consider an auction with a reserve price equal to the amount due to the bank...any amount over the reserve is YOURS! Good luck!
  5. It could be worse...you might find something REALLY witty to write...!
  6. It could be worse...you could be assembling vehicles in one of Ford's South American plants. In these plants, the suppliers bring their parts to the Ford plant and have THEIR employees assemble the vehicle. No employees means $0.00 per hour paid by Ford Motor Company...pretty tough to beat THOSE cost cutting measures...
  7. It could be worse...you could be working for Ford in Mexico assembling Fusions for $4.00 an hour with no union benefits...!
  8. has set his status and it is GOOD!

  9. Best post I've ever read and 100% correct: well said, Cocheese!
  10. My only regret is that I did not wait until '94 to purchase my convertible Camaro Z28, which I STILL own...
  11. I don't see where a four billion loss is a "good thing." Mulally needs to make Ford profitable as CEO. This is NOT the way to do it...you can only downsize so far...let's see who gets the blame for this multibillion dollar loss...
  12. Hindsight is 20/20...corporations are in the business to make money for their shareholders. Profit margins for American corporations are not high enough here, so in a global market production will go to whoever is willing to get paid the least....hmmm......better start learning Chinese or Spanish... :reading:
  13. UAW IS SETTING THEMSELVES UP FOR A HUGE LAWSUIT WITH ALL THE CONTRACT VIOLATIONS THERE LETTING SLIDE INCLUDING PAY ISSUES At KTP this week I never saw a representative from the union come to the line...did they go on Xmas vacation early? Are they deliberately avoiding any contact with the line worker? Is this what I get for my $57.11 each month?
