  1. What the new Fusion/Milan/MKZ needs more than anything is dynamic stability control. These cars are not eligible for the highest safety ratings by IIHS and the feds (even though crash test scores are high enough) without this feature. It is standard on all of the competition and it is unconscionalbe that it has taken Ford so many years to add a safety feature that should have been standard from the beginning.
  2. Does anyone know when it is, or when the '08s will arrive at dealers? Thanks.
  3. Are the Outlook and Enclave 2008 models? EPA testing procedures changed for 2008 model year. New methodology is supposed to be closer to real world mileage. Comparing 2008 models to prior years is comparing apples to oranges.
  4. If it is a typo, it is not a new typo. I checked the archived 2007 presskits, available at the sites MKII listed above, and it stated the 2007 Milan had 4 channel ABS and the 2007 MKZ had 3 channel ABS.
  5. These are not the good old days; now, safety sells. Anyone that has turned on a TV in the last 3 months has seen Lexus' active safety advertising campaign. The Fusion/Milan/MKZ needs stability control now, not in two years. I am shopping for a new car for my wife and I have crossed the MKZ off of the list because of this. Both the Feds and the IIHS have studied stability control and found that, unlike ABS alone, stability control prevents accidents. The Feds are contemplating making stability control mandatory. If I was forced to drive a car that had either (1) a full array of airbags but no stability control, or (2) stability control but no airbags, then I would chose stability control every time. It is the ONLY safety feature that can prevent an accident from happening. My Volvo has it and it has saved my bacon twice. The first time, I was driving too fast in the rain and hit huge puddle at the bottom of a swale. The second time, I was run off the road by a driver on a cell phone. Both times, the car corrected itself from a spin before I could even react. I had to pay for it as an option, but Volvo has since made their DSTC (Dynamic Stability and Traction Control) System standard on every vehicle they sell. Do yourself and your daughters a favor, DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE WITHOUT STABILITY CONTROL.
  6. iluvford saw the MKZ order guide, so it is out there. Will someone please post the MKZ order guide or a on-line link to it? Thanks.
  7. Here are the rear seat specifications for the V50 and V70 from the Volvo web site: V50 V70 Shoulder room 54.1 55.9 Hip room 50.7 54.8 Leg room 34.4 35.2 Obviously, the V50 is a much narrower car than the V70, which accounts for the large differences in shoulder and hip room. But 1.2 inches does not seem like a big difference in leg room and that is one of the reasons my wife and I chose the V50 over the V70. However, that 1.2" is the difference between me (6'2") being comfortable vs. having to move the driver seat forward whenever anyone sits behind me. The 2.5t engine is optional in the V50 and it makes that car very quick. It has also been a very reliable engine. I love the V50, but I will probably move up to the V70 when the next generation comes out in 2008.
  8. I love my V50. I have owned it for nearly two years. It is a little small. The back seat gets used more than I thought it would, so I will probably upgrade to the new V70 after it's redesigned for 2008. If you worship at the altar of iPod, then you must get the 2007 V50 with the audio package that includes an aux in. It is impossible to hardwire any MP3 player into the 2005-2006 V50's because of it MOST fiber optic system. Also, DSTC is standard for 2007 on all Volvos and it has saved my butt on more than one occasion.
  9. Is the order guide for the MKZ available on line anywhere?
