  1. conveniently they didnt have the number handy. im looking it up right now and will be calling tomorrow if i find it. im sure i can get it at work also.
  2. my concern is if its not adjustable how is it out of adjustment? if its off that far it has to be off from the factory which should be covered.
  3. he gave me some bs about alignment parts not being covered.
  4. took my truck in for its 30k service today and once again complained about my general tires.they said they would check the suspension and alignment. they called and said i need a $185.00 camber adjustment kit in order to do the alignment. they cant do it without the kit. its off the same amount on both sides. and it needs to be done to start a warranty claim for my tires. i have never hit a curb or a major pothole. and have just under 30k on it. my concern is if the truck was built with the camber off and its wearing only one of the tires uneven why is it my problem? has anyone else had this problem? update: after talking to the tech with "30 years experience" i asked this question: "if the camber is not adjustable and its off what moved to throw off the camber?" to which he repied "it can just get out of alignment." so i asked "whell if there is no room for adjustment then something else would have to bend to shift it right?" he said no but couldnt explain. so its time for a new dealer. if rangers are off at tcap it usually means wrong cams on the upper control arm. which i cant see both sides having the wrong cams and getting out the door. even if thats the case thanks norfolk for building me an excellent truck.
  5. all it takes is one drive. i hope i can find a way to afford one soon.
  6. same size truck, bench seat in the back of the super cab for kids and car seats not adults, and a 4cyl power stroke. or at least a small v8.
  7. if we made those we might have a chance.
  8. i have an 04 with genarals and the 3 dimples in the sidewalls are growing so i will have between 1 and 4 sidewall blowouts soon. even though i have a paper saying the tires are coverd 3yrs/36000 no luck getting them replaced yet. i know others with the same thing.
  9. if too many take buyouts at tcap, i cant imagine anyone would want to transfer here. that would likely mean temps on most of the jobs.
  10. if we get a buy out do you think we would be able to get a-plan on one more car? or would we be here looking for x-plan?
  11. how about this one, buyout or transfers for the whole plant. and shut her down. run production till all the checks and paperwork are ready with no layoffs to bank a supply of rangers.
  12. well i was thinking a whole new car with different stlying. when i posted i must have been tired because i know better than than that. but point well taken. maybe i just ruled out the fusion cause its made in mexico.
  13. which is why ford management needs to get their act together. at tcap in the body shop they say all we do is loose money. but we cant charge ford stamping plants for defective stock. so they have no incentive to correct the problems. and outside vendors dont always get charged for their bad stock. sometimes its amazing we can even make trucks with the stock we get. and im not blaming ford stamping plants either. its management for taking away qc people and shoving numbers out the door. they make it difficult to catch problems before they get to the assembly plants. and when they get to us its days of bad stock in the system. and our daily cost goes up having to rework the stock. and thats just one example of mis-management.
  14. funny because i believe at tcap our local will be fighting the international to get us buyouts.
  15. for me its not an option to transfer to another plant my kids and family are here. if i were still married it would be more of an option. if i get a buyout i can pay off my truck, credit cards and other bills. then i should be able to get by on less money a month. that way if my first job after ford isnt the best i can get by still. i have done the math and i can get by just barely with the current buyout. if they raised it to 150k it would be a lot easier. but i doubt that will happen. i only need to make 18hr to get by with no extras or anything like that. its not the greatest plan but its safe while i hope for better
  16. the way i see it as much as i want a buyout and would take it. 1 year (if we are around that long) at 50 hours is close to the same amount as a buyout with benefits for that year. with the exception with the buyout id have income from a new job. the best would be to work till the end then get a buyout. and i wouldnt mind being on the line till the last day. actually i kind of hope to be there till the bitter end. but im not going to turn down a buyout either. they may only offer once
  17. at tcap they told us our cafeteria was closing just before they announced the plant was closing.
  18. thats going to be rough. i like night shift and hate mornings. and im sure if buyouts get to me it will be a while.
  19. ford shouls make a peoples car. fusion sized car, fuel efficient 4cyl no power just economy, 5spd auto or manual trans. nothing fancy inside with manual windows, door locks, manual seats, steel wheels, fo fancy body trim, just a stylish body. and a/c of course. and made in the USA. make it an affordable car and market it as a entry level/students car. a peoples car if you will. heck call it a model t. with good paying jobs going away or to mexico(like the fusion) people arent going to have money for luxury. the model t was a basic car that everyone could afford. the more he sold the cheaper they got. he made money from volume created by lower pricing. ford needs to go back to that with the way this country is going.
  20. the way the internantional has been behaving almost (key word almost) makes me feel ashamed to be union. they dont want buyouts they want to use closing plants as bargaining chips. im sorry but we are people not pawns. the only thing a buyout at a closing plant does for the international is reduce unuion dues revenue. they have better healthcare than us but they dont work in the plants. why cant they reduce theirs and put the money towards the retirees healthcare. make it even for us all. skip the fancy trips to vegas and use that too. the uaw needs to represent the workers not impress big shots. hell the layoff news still isnt on the uaw web site. hell even our local president got a new regional job after speaking out against the international. now he is one of them. all i can say to that is if he stays the same person i saw at his last local meeting thats what we need. but if he is like he was 6 months ago he will be one of them. my request to the uaw is stand up for us and do whats right for the membership. not what lines your pockets.
  21. my guess is if they get a large number at a plant like tcap they would shut us down early or stop the buyouts at the plants closing. the reason before the survey before the july down time was to seee if there would be enough takers to go to one shift. i could be wrong but i believe we cant work overtime with workers on layoff from the plant.
  22. tcap is more like poseidon most of us wont escape
