falconman13 replied to igor's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I HOPE you are joking -
Why cant you read the topics and make relevant posts about the topic in the proper thread?

Looks like it would look pretty cool with a couple of surfboards on the roof, maybe a woody edition

Chevy debuts the Beat, Groove and Trax mini car concepts
falconman13 replied to pcsario's topic in Competing Products
They look like toys, and I mean that as a compliment. Like one of the little cars you get in a box of Cpt Crunch or something. At least they arent boring -
No, I didnt, because I wasnt looking for a V6 and its subsequent low MPG. If I wanted a performance car, I would have bought a Mustang GT. I wanted a 4 cyl with a manual shift. And I did drive the Camry and still bought a Fusion. Why, because it was more car AND was less expensive. Not JUST because it was less expensive. BTW, I am seeing a lot of Fusions on the street lately. So there must be more to it than just my opinion.

No more ugly than it ever was IMO.

I would like to see the 3's breakdown by body style. That's a big jump in volume, fleet or not, in a segment that Ford is basically abandoning with the Focus 08 restyle. (no hatches, wagons etc..) It could be Mazda is picking up a lot of the volume left by Fords reduction in fleet sales. But in any case, I think this makes a much better case for a good quality Focus. I mean , what is a Mazda 3 anyway but a re-skinned Focus

2007 Ford Escape front passenger door latch problem
falconman13 replied to 90Stang's topic in Escape & Kuga Forum
Sounds more like a seal then the latch. I have restored several old cars and when you first put on the door seals they act like what you are describing. Hard to close, and pop open like they are spring loaded. They will normally loosen up after a while, especially if you park in the sun. Also, check the door fitment where the front fender and the leading edge meet. If the door is adjusted too far in (not flush with the fender) this will cause excessive crush on the seal and will also cause this problem. But that all applies to early 60 models of Falcon and Comets, but it sounds like the same thing. -
Was messing around with a Fusion Coupe, The roof is straight from the Iosis concept. I think the Fusion would make a great convertable. Not sure about the coupe. What do you think?

Ipod installation for 2006 Navigator - options?
falconman13 replied to Gruson's topic in Expedition Forum
I cant say about the Expy. But I use my IPOD in my Fusion. The Fusion has an IPOD jack in the center console. It works well, except I wish someone made a cable that would connect to the IPOD data connection and would split off for the headphone input. As it is now, its pretty generic. Plug in the power adapter and another cable for the headphone. Works well and sounds much better than an FM transponder. But, you do need to control the IPOD from the IPOD and you don't get any info into the radio such as song title etc.. As far as IPOD vs Sat. Both have pros and cons. I like the Sirius for the talk radio which I am not going to get on the IPOD. For music, I mostly listen to the IPOD I don't know if the new Sync system will address better integration with the IPOD, perhaps someone else will know -
Unreliable? How? I have a friend who has an 03 and has never had an issue with it. And Loves it.

That's not quite true, Ford already had an SVT Focus based on the current platform. They just chose to discontinue it. All those parts still exist and have all the R&D done on them. They could easily make a SVT Focus they just choose not to.

Why Didn't I Think of This Earlier
falconman13 replied to BlackHorse's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
What you are describing to me then is a 2 door Fusion coupe/ convert I think the Fusion Coupe is on the way, I may be wrong. Sorry, I know this is rough, but I just hacked it out real quick from an image from the internet -

A Deuce coupe is a coupe, a roadster is a roadster. Both were 32's hence the Deuce name, and both were /are big with the custom crowd. Ford does make a coupe/ roadster that is popular. Its called the Mustang. I know that's not what you meant, but the Mustang is the modern day equivalent of the 32. Its relatively inexpensive, relatively easy to modify, has a large aftermarket support, available V8 and a huge cult following JMO -
Ford, Ford Flex and Auto Extremist
falconman13 replied to Blue Oval Guide's topic in Flex & Lincoln MKT Forum
I agree that it should have a new name, But I liked Reflex better than Flex. As a rule I dont like single sylable names for cars. Think how you would tell someone what car you have. " Its a Ford Flex" Sounds a bit like a joke. But , maybe they are saving Reflex for a hot little B car coupe. -
Rut-row!!!! Looks like ANOTHER class action may be brewing...
falconman13 replied to Ovaltine's topic in F150 & Raptor Forum
If thats the case , then they could fix this problem by requiring the plugs to be backed out and re-torqued every 50K or so. -
Dealer Rating System?
falconman13 replied to ZanatWork's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Dealer markups like that are what drives potential customers away. Lets say you aren't normally a Ford buyer and you go into the Ford dealership to look at the new Shelby you are reading about. With a dealer markup like that, what chance do you think of EVER selling that person a Ford. The ones that get hurt on these dealer markups are the most loyal customers because they are the only ones that would buy the car. I know Dean disagrees with me on this. But IMO Dealer markups like this should not be allowed. Ford goes through the expense of developing a halo car like this to drive potential customers to their showrooms, and the dealers make all of the profits on these cars alienating the very potential customers that maybe would have at least looked at something else while they were there. Its short sighted on the dealers part and poor management on Fords part. -
If the numbers hold up, its a very good thing. I have been a big advocate for domestic diesel small displacement engines. But with diesel selling higher than premium lately, I gotta rethink that. If they can get these kinds of numbers , then by all means, its a "Better Idea" JMHO

As a general rule, if you notice, the leather option will say "Leather Seating Surface" A lot of cars will have the leather only on the surface and use a matching vinyl on the sides and backs
