  1. Hiring off the street means the dues are cut in half for that worker...........guess they should have thought about that when they agreed to it.

  3. In my opinion I think Lap canceled the layoff at their plant because they must remain at a certain employment number to continue to received the state tax concessions. Ktp can probably spare a couple of hundred to get where they need to be and stay within the number needed to continue to receive the concessions from the state. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Mod Center is 8-10 Jobs out in the old Proveout Building where aftermarket items will be added in house that normally would be done by the owner at say Louisville 4x4 or Stuff for Trucks. I would say these jobs would take some seniority to get. Sorta like the old Ktec jobs.
  5. My understanding was it was orginally scheduled to be torn down also but it's a bomb/tornado shelter and they can't tear it down until they build a new one. They won't do that so it stays.
  6. Ktp will be become the Ford Truck Plant for the United States. Eventually Ktp will built most trucks that run thru the Ford system in my opinion.
  7. What it cost you to drive across the bridge everyday is killing any savings you have living in indiana.
  8. No rebate check this year because you will have earned more than the max income if they rebates were offered again.
  9. A Laid off shift at Ktp right now is strictly rumors. It appears, from the saving of a shift at Lap, that they currently won't lay any shifts off at these plants to guarentee the $200 million tax incentive from the State requiring a certain number of working heads at the 2 plants. As far as transfering KTP workers to Lap.........who knows how that will play out. We have been told that Ktp will be offered additional buyouts next month.
  10. Who's in and who's out in your opinion? What's your opinion on the Vice Pres, Building Chair, Bargaining Committe, Trustees, Guide, Financial Secretary and Skilled Trades Chair and Vice Chair?
  11. As of this moment, no plans to layoff a shift but obviously if things don't change, that's the direction we are heading into. They won't rotate shifts forever. As of right now the schedule is set thru the middle/end of August. Anything beyond that is up in the air.
  12. also don't forget about the extra people in three crew body and paint. take those off first and then figure half. I would say if we have 3900 take 300 off the three crew employees and cut in half. I would say top 2000 are say. Always extra on dayshift. Just my opinion. But also don't forget that all skilled trades that came from production have the right to go back if they wish instead of a layoff and all of us will have 15 or more years. Good Luck to you.
  13. It rumored that Ktp will soon layoff much of it's skilled trades if a loss of one shift happens. Just wondering, in regards to Fitters that are currently in the Gen Pool, are there any job offers at all. Has any Fitters moved at all? Whats the situation and is a return to production the best bet if that option is available. Any info would be helpful to all trades at KTP. Thanks
  14. Where is the list on Hps? I accessed it last night and didn't see it. Thanks for the help. I also looked at the board up front last night and saw several people that had taken the buyouts in skilled trades that were still listed.
  15. I have May 1989 seniority and I am in the top 10 percent before this last buyout happened. So I would say the 1990 is in the top 10 percent. Ktp is a young plant now with all the buyouts.
  16. If you vote today and no one shows up as planned.........it passes because all the committe and people close to the committee vote yes and pass it.
  17. I think by making it a bid job......you take all the team "clicks" out of play and abuse as teams will use the leader especially prior to elections. I think this makes the team leader job similar to an upgrade position at LAP and gives the senior guy another opportunity to bid on a job.

  20. Letter came out today. Down the week of April 28th..........which in these parts is Derby Week.
  21. All the skilled trades that went a couple of years ago have plenty of time.......all those guys have atleast 15 years. Plenty of time to roll back to ktp.
