We currently don't have any production laid off. We did take in about 150 from atl. We had 900 sign up for the buyouts so I would assume that we would be getting 900 transfers eventually. Ktp1989 What are you basing your statement on? I am at KTP and am in skilled trades. Not basing it on anything, stating facts. We just shipped 20 mw's and elec. to Lap as we have gone to 3 eight hours shifts 5 days a week and they canceled the weekend crew so they went back into traditional shifts and forced alot of people to the project crew. We started sending lower seniority trades to lap last month. We will not be taking any skilled trades, we have to many now.

I agree with that totally. We all work for Ford and we are all members of the U.A.W. It makes no sense to me why a 25 year man is laid off when a guy a few states away has 3 years and is working ot. I agree totally.

You come in to work available and you will have the opportunity to bid on a job when it comes up.But you lose your classification and pay when you transfer.

I heard 900 signed up for the buyout. If c crew stays, they will fill those jobs with brothers and sisters from other plants. But the kicker is when they get them in and then later decide to get rid of c crew, those transfers won't be back on the street.......the lower seniority will be and it's won't be the transfers...it will be the bottom 1500 here. If you are in the bottom 1500, take the buyouts and run. Obviously 900 agree.

Why let the goverment make money on your money. Take the money now and earn interest on it. You are gonna owe the taxes regardless if you pay them now or at the end of the year. Buy paying them now, you let the goverment have a interest free loan on you. Sounds like a Ford idea.

I think anyone at KTP with less than 10 should take the buyout because if "C" Crew goes, your gone. If they bring the 150 or van, those people can come and bring seniority. I would take the educational buyout myself if I didn't have so many year already. Good Luck to ya

Since the union has demonstrated their tough bargaining power in the past, how would you ever doubt that profit sharing is a done deal? :shrug:

When they go to 3 shifts, most likely they will do you guys like they did us at KTP. 3 shifts 5 days a week and 24 hour shifts with lunch on the end. Midnights works 11-7 Days 7-3 and afternoons 3-11. No overtime and it cuts the skilled trades down to sat. and no sundays. We have been on it for about 3 months. It stinks

I you are at KTP with only 7 years, I'd take the money and run. If they get rid of "C" Crew your gone, plus if they do lay you off with all the plants closing, they will fill your job with a senior man and you are done. Take the money and move on. :titanic:
