  1. I have a 2005 Ford Freestar Limited with 4.2 My question is the alternator went out and after replacing it everything works fine except the switches for the power sliding doors and rear hatch. Side doors open and close with the inside buttons and the rear hatch closes with the button. But it doesn’t work with the over head buttons or the key remote. I checked the fuses and they are ok, what’s my next thing to check? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. Hey, while your there, pick up mine too. It will make the line shorter. :shades:
  3. I filled out my unemployment on line on Sunday, July 6th. No where on line did it have anywhere for vacation pay. So I filled it out with the mass layoff number as explained by the flyer from the union. Then on Monday morning I called unemployment and told them that I was paid for vacation and they only thing they asked for on line was about holiday pay. She, ( from unemployment office ), said I filled it out correctly and they were going to contact us about the vacation pay. Since I called them she said she would take care of it on the phone for the two weeks vacation pay and just fill it out on line as normal. Well I did and they sent me umemployment pay anyway. I did not get any letter about the over payment but for this weeks pay the kept the money to repay overpayment. So I figure the same will be for next weeks check too. But we still should get our sub pay as normal for the three weeks off. I figured that's what they would do. ( also as of today no letter from Avon about being off until August 11th. But it is on UAW 2000's web site. )
  4. So what's going on with the Cleveland Plants? Plant 1, Plant 2 & Casting? Anyone know how many people went from Brookpark to Lima. I did hear some signed up.
  5. Rumor has it that All the workers who went to Avon from Brookpark will be returning to Brookpark after shutdown/down weeks. All workers that were layed off are back in Brookpark as of Monday June 30th. ( is this so they had to use their vacation hours up ). Also rumor is that you have to go back that you can't keep Avon as your home. Not sure if that's true or not.
  6. I'm really glad that everyone from the accident will be ok. But my feeling is where was God to prevent the accident. He missed his shot on that one. And yes, I do go to church, not every week, but I do go. No where does it say that you must go to a certin building to believe in God. I remember when I was a little kid. On Christmas Eve. Two women in their 80's were crossing the street to go into the Church for Christmas Eve mass. They were struck by a car and both killed. A lot of good going to the chruch did them. . . . Now back to where we should be. Fords are made a lot safer. And the quailty work that we put into our vehicles is getting better and better. And to everyone from the accident, or any accident. I wish you a speedy recovery.
  7. To: gary112 & fuaw, Too funny, but most likely true. :happy feet:
  8. And it's because of those 200 from Avon that came to Brookpark is why we are in Avon. If they wouldn't have came to Brookpark we would have never been sent to Lorain a few years ago or to Avon now. Like everyone else in Brookpark. They should have been put into the Casting Plant first, not some sit down job on the Jag line. Then they would have bolted back to Avon.
  9. Go Indians, Go Browns and Go Cavs. ( even if they did suck the last two games )
  10. You are right, a few years back when the Brookpark people went to Lorain, they did want to return home. Every one was forced to go to Lorain after the Avon workers came to Brookpark. When you are forced to go somewhere you don't want to go, some may have a attitude. But the thing that is different this time is that Brookpark workers are signing to go to Avon. And the ones that are signing are the ones who did work in Lorain. So we know what to expect this time. We know the work isn't easy, but either is the Casting Plant. And that's where everyone is coming from. We, like everyone else have families, car payments and mortgages. And if someone want to make money, you have to work for it. There is no such thing as a free ride. Just hope that the union is better in Avon then it was in Lorain. From what I hear, Lorain didn't have much of a union. Kind of like Ford was "Bill C." and the union was "Monica"
  11. Country Club, Wow, you don't have a clue. The ones that are going to Avon are from the Casting Plant, not the engine plants. I take it you never worked in the Casting Plant in the summer heat. ( 130* + ). Don't believe me, ask the girl who came from Avon in 2001 that worked in the casting plant and worked harder at getting out of work then her job. She went back to Avon last month, but what I hear she is trying to get out of work there too. Most of the ones that came from Avon in 2001 went to the enging plants, differnent kind of work compared to the casting plant. So it's no country club. I think it was only 6 or 7 people out of 200 that went back to Avon as their home plant. The only way people from Brookpark going to Avon are going to have attitudes depends on what the attitude is toward us. Kind of the "Do one to others rule". I hope for the ones going to Avon that everyone that is there doesn't have your attitude. That's what would really suck. The ones that sign to go to Avon want to work, if they were lazy they wouldn't have signed and got unemployment and sub.
  12. Just wondering what is going on at the Cleveland Plants. Layoffs, Buyouts, the numbers? Layoff date? Haven't seen anything on this rumor mill.
  13. You are taking about the work ethics and attitude of the Cleveland workers. Have you ever work at any of the Cleveland Plants or are you just making judgment about a couple of thousand people by the way a few are? I don’t care where you work, either at Ford or any other work place. You are going to have lazy asses every where. From working in the Cleveland Plants for 10 years and I see the different work ethics there are. Most of the workers in Cleveland do care about quality and production. If you have a problem with the Cleveland Workers in Lima, it must be the same thing that happened in Cleveland when they brought in workers from Avon Lake. ( ALFs ) They came here with a attitude, not all but quite a few. I see some of them every day working hard at getting out of work. (Maybe the AWOL rules will take care of some of the problem.) And not long after they were brought to Cleveland there was a layoff and a bunch of Cleveland workers were forced, yes forced, to go to Lorain. And the Lorain workers, not all but quite a few, treated some of the Cleveland workers like sh**. How are the workers who came to Lima being treated. Did they cop a attitude after they got there because of their treatment? The ones I know who went to Lima seem to like it there. I can’t judge Lima workers from what I hear from just a few. Just like I can’t judge Avon workers from the few bad ones that I see. So don’t label a whole site because of just a few. If you haven’t worked here, you don’t really know.
  14. Cleveland Plants vote on Tuesday
  15. Look where the profits go. Fusion put together in Mexico, it's engine built in Broookpark, Ohio. Look to see where the profits go. Fusion profits go to Detroit. Any Jap car built in the US, profits go back to Japan. And if you look around, a lot of older people, some who were in WWII are driving Jap cars. They just don't get it. No different then driving ( or flying ) a Jap Zero.
  16. You can take out a low intrest loan. go to www.401K.com and follow directions to set up your account. Then click on loans. There is a section where you can get a loan and you can do it all on line. They let you know how much you can get. I think it's something like half of what's in there. Not sure. And you can pick what the payments will be. It's all on the site.
  17. Japanese vs American A Modern Parable. A Japanese company ( Toyota ) and an American company (General Motors) decided to have a canoe race on theMissouri River Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race. On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing. Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion. They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing. Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners and free pens for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses. The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was out-sourced toIndia . Sadly, The End.. Here's something else to think about: Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of theUS , claiming they can't make money paying American wages. TOYOTA has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants inside the US. The last quarter's results: TOYOTA makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses. Ford folks are still scratching their heads. IF THIS WASN'T SO TRUE IT MIGHT BE FUNNY
  18. Any Jap car made in Ohio, the profits still go to Japan!
  19. WTF, Does anyone really know what's going on?
