  1. Looks like it's gonna be Sarah Palin. It would be a smart move to get those Hillary voters. I was floored today to hear it was not Romney.
  2. Call 1800-603-ford It says you will get a letter in the mail to let you know what shift to report to.
  3. We just got home from vacation last night and I saw that Ford called a few days ago and did not leave a message. Did anyone else get a phone call? Any idea why they are calling? Thanks
  4. Truck sales are down 41%. Some cars are up actually. Ford will be fine, after some bumps in the road, they will be back on top. Here are silimar but a little different sales figures: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080701/ap_on_...e/auto_sales_36
  5. No nothing on paper yet. And he didn't speak to anyone personally it was announced to everyone during the union meeting Sat. And no they didn't say what would be built or done.
  6. When my husband was at the meeting Sat they said that (in my own words) that production can still run during that time and it is our job to call in. They may call us, but..well..I'd rather do it myself and make sure. If the line runs and you do not report you will be SOL. So do not plan a vacation during this time. Someone asked since they had a vacation planned at the meeting and she said basically if you don't report you will be SOL. p.s. still looking for the phone number
  7. I don't know where we put it and I want to keep it handy since we will be needing to call in every week after the 2 week shutdown. Can someone please post the number here? Thank You
  8. They said they will at the meeting today.
  9. Now What? When they announced Kentucky losing a shift they told them where they will be going at the same time. Also they know their return to work date. As for DTP, nothing. Just limited run in the 3rd quarter. When if Ford's 3rd quarter? Do they run a calendar year or not?
  10. Here is one link: http://www.bnd.com/business/story/367366.html I read more, but it took me awhile to find this one since I read so many I can't remember where I read them at.
  11. I have read that on a couple of news sites. It looks like it's true.
  12. Yeah, they sure do care!
  13. Meeting is now cancelled. A union official said tune it to channel 7 tomorrow at noon. I hate this waiting!
  14. Can someone recommend someone downriver? I did our federal taxes, and I think you guys are right about hiring a professional. We live in Brownstown (the Gibraltar side). And if our taxes will be rough this year, next years will be worse cause our house in VA finally just sold. Thanks! Candee
  15. Can anyone make sense of the w-2 that shows the UAW Subpay? Three of the subpay checks were taxed in Virginia and Michigan. I am working on our taxes right now and this seems to be a nightmare. I was doing my taxes through HR Block online and they think the W-2 may have an error on it. Did anyone do their state taxes yet? Since box 16 and 18 do not equal box 1, I can't figure out how to distribute the money between the 2 states since some of the money overlaps both states. Thank You! Candee
  16. Is anyone willing to rent their house out for 3 or 6 months, even 12? My husband was going to go up ahead, but we just decided yesterday that it would be better if we all go up as a family. Since we have a family I don't want to live in an apartment. We need to rent until the house sells. Well I guess I just shared more info than I needed to. Anyway if anyone knows of a house, townhouse with a basement or even a condo that they wouldn't mind renting could you please pm me. I looked online and there isn't anything really. We would like to move in on the 8th of Jan. Oh and we would like to be in a a safe area. Thanks! Candee
  17. So all the housing assistance is a money thing? I already knew how much we were getting. I was wondering if they help find you a realitor. I think I remember reading somewhere that Ford might pay closing costs too? Or does this not apply now cause its a trasnfer of operations. All I know is we get the 45,000 over 2 years and an additional 4000 or so if your singel and 6000 or so if you married. I don't feel like going downstairs and get the actual numbers. What happens if we move up there at different times? Would the payout change at all, and no I'm not talking about the 45,000. Thanks Candee
  18. Check greatschools.com and schoolmatters.com the have all the test scores and demographics on those websites.
  19. Does anyone know anything about this? I know there will be a meeting next week, but well I hate waiting. SO if anyone has any info please let me know what it is and what it offers. Thanks! Candee
  20. Yeah we are not planning to buy. We will probabaly rent a house, but for now he will get a cheap apartment. I would like to wait to see what happens with Ford too. Thanks for the tips! Candee
