  1. Precisely none of your business and it has no bearing on the matter as well.
  2. I did actually. The Sky was a much better looking car but it was overpriced for what you got. Ironically, like the FR-S, Pontiac / Saturn assured everyone that the Sky / Solstice were going to have a much lower starting price than the cars actually turned out to have when they hit the dealerships.
  3. That's not why I hate the car but thanks for trolling.
  4. No clown. The car sucks just because it does. It's overpriced and underpowered and an all around sales failure. The guy writing the article freely admits to wearing suede loafers which frankly is exhibit A for proof that he's a loser too.
  5. So Jalopnik has an article about some guy who drove an FR-S and changed his mind about it. In the article he typed Really, your suede loafers? Proof yet again that the gawker website articles are authored entirely by douchebag hipsters who sit around Starbucks and write their articles. Come to think of it, this car is perfect for this loser. No wonder he likes it so much. http://carbuying.jalopnik.com/i-changed-my-mind-about-the-scion-fr-s-and-you-should-t-1714770057
  6. I guess we'll just overlook the fact that a rebadged RAM 700 has already been spotted testing in Michigan. http://www.autoblog.com/2014/11/01/ram-700-fiat-small-truck-mexico/
  7. You actually think that if the do away with the Chicken tax it's still going to be applied to certain countries but not others? You must have a much more favoreable view of the leadership in our Government than I do. Furthermore, it would be easy enough for one of the countries that is in the TPP to rebadge one of the vehicles that I listed. A point that I already clearly made.
  8. Following that logic, where's the Vauxhalls, the Opels, Daewoos, Lancias, Citrones, Peugots, Skodas, Ladas, Jensens, Daihatsus, Mitsuokas, Cherys, Dongfengs, and on and on. The absence of these brands from the American market is not an indicator of anything just as sales numbers of the Camry are completely irrelevant to the discussion. Toyota has in the past and is currently selling rebadged vehicles. There is no reason to think they won't do it again. I personally wouldn't expect Toyota to do it because they have the Tacoma but there's also no reason to think that Mazda or Hyuandai / Kia won't do the same thing. The idea that a vehicle has to sell in Camry numbers or it's not successful is laughable. Guess we better ditch half the Ford lineup if that's the case.
  9. The Fiat Strada, Mahindra and Chinese Geely could all import compact trucks right way. That's just three that I know of off the top of my head and they don't have to establish a dealership network. Does anyone think that Toyota or one of the other import brands wouldn't be only to happy sell a rebadged Mahindra or Geely? Hell Toyota is already talking about putting the FR-S on the Miata platform, . . instead of its current Impreza platfrom. The new Scion iM is just a rebadged Mazda 2. Mazda doesn't currently sell a truck so I have little doubt they would be only to happy to jump on the rebadge wagon. Frankly I don't put any stock in the "it won't sell here" point of view because this is the same website that swore hatchbacks would never sell in the US. Now Ford has two of them in their lineup that both sell pretty well.
  10. The Gawker websites have enough pathetic spelling and grammar errors to make this place look like Harvard Law. I get the feeling most of the articles are written by clueless hipsters sitting at some Starbucks in Irvine where they can take advantage of the free WiFi.
  11. I've driven both the new F150 and the new Silverado. Both were crew cab with the V8. Both had comfortable and quiet rides, handled competently and were all around very nice trucks. Neither one is better than the other in my opinion and either one would be far more capable than the vast majority of would be owners would ever need them to be from a "truck" standpoint. They are comparably priced and comparably capable. If I were to pick one I would likely go with the Silverado just because I like the look a little better than the F150, although the new F150 is not an unattractive truck in its own right. Consumer Reports is just doing what Consumer Reports always does but the reality of the matter is that there is no clear winner or loser between these two trucks. I can't speak to the RAM truck as I have not driven a Dodge truck since about 1991 and it looked like this. Not even remotely the same truck as today's RAM but it was a decent truck at that time. It had a very thirsty motor though.
  12. Again, that is a world that never existed and never will. It is at best a nobel and lofty idea that has never been put to practice.
  13. What do J.D. Power's quality ratings really measure? http://www.autoblog.com/2015/06/23/-j-d-power-quality-ratings-analysis/
  14. There is no correlation because being Christian does not also mean we would have a world without weapons or violence. One needs only to look to the Prostestants and the Catholics to realize that. Furthermore being Christian does not automatically predispose one to being "the good guy" who would never hurt a fly while all others are incapable of such behavior. In theory it is fully possible for everyone to get along and not partake in violence and also be "not" Christians. But the reality is that the world has never been that way and never will be that way. We will always need weapons because there will always be those who would find it easier to kill us than to live in peaceful coexistence.
  15. No I don't. I see the world as it is, not as we would like it to be.
  16. Yes, we could also rename to the world to Fantasy Utopia. The world you have described has never existed and will never exist. It would be nice but it will never happen.
  17. The same still holds true. The weapons industry in general has kept Christianity from falling prey to those who would have destroyed it. That is just reality. It is as much a reality for the Christians as it is for the Jewish state. Modern day Christianity is to preoccupied with being PC and flower power, lovey dovey. That's fine if you want to subscribe to that interpretation or belief system. But the reality is that from time to time Christians and Jews have had to defend themselves with really powerful weapons else they would have been destroyed. Furthermore we still live in a world where there are plenty of people who would gladly slaughter every Christian they can get their hands on. The Pope can be a sheep if he wants to, I will not. To deny or denounce that is flat out wrong.
  18. Regardless of that. His condemnation of the firearms industry is a condemnation of the very industry that has kept Christianity from being wiped out by those who would gladly kill every Christian they could find over the last 200 or so years. That is the real hypocrisy here.
  19. Even more to the point, were it not for the sword and later the firearm Christianity would have long sense been wiped off the planet by the forces arrayed against it. The notion that it can somehow survive without weapons is stunningly mypoic. We don't live in that world, even if the Pope doesn't want to admit it.
  20. A two door hatchback Fiesta ST would be a nice addition to the Fiesta lineup. Surely Ford sells enough of the four door version to warrant a niche option.
  21. The problem with a magazine like Consumer Reports is that at its very core philosophy it is based on the concept that one of these things must be better than all the rest. As a result, no matter how well made or poorly made a car is, Consumer Reports is going to praise some vehicles and curse others becuase their operating philosophy dictates that some cars must be deemed unworthy regardless of whether or not the car actually is a bad car. This sort of thinking, however, is not entirely the fault of CR. It is merely a reflection of our greater viewpoints and beliefs as a society. We tend to break everything down into "good vs bad" or "right vs wrong" and everyone wants to be on the winning team no matter what the competition is. Victory has a hundred fathers and defeat is an orphan. From this mentality is born the fanboy. The notion that just because you bought a Ford, or a Toyota or a GM that you have made the right choice and everyone else who picked another brand is some knuckle dragging troglodyte who made a bad choice. The reality is that none of these companies are head and shoulders better than the others and planting your flag and declaring yourself the staunch advocate of Brand X and only Brand X all others be damned is the rationale of a weak mind. I've owned a lot cars from a lot of different brands. I've never found a brand that was perfect or a brand that was extraordinarily better than any other brand and by no means have I ever found a brand that was worthy of anyone's undying devotion. They don't care about any of us. They care about money and that's it. So screw CR and their points of view about the MFT, mine works fine.
  22. It's easy to be an absolutist about firearms when you live in the Vatican with armed security and completely removed from the everyday life of the average person.
