  1. I think the majority of buyers want the moonroof hence its inclusion in the high volume rapid spec packages. i would think you should expect that going forward in any high content vehicle. Just curious.. you really never use a moonroof at all?
  2. i am curious to see if the 20in wheel as a stand alone option is the same as the one with the performance pack. my guess would be the standalone wheel has all season tires making it a better option for the snowbelt than the performace pack. seeing that the suspension is tuned the same PP or not i really dont see a big advantage with the Performance pack other than the brakes. Also am i reading this right that the only way to get auto headlamps on a 38k car is to order option code 402a?

  4. Anyone know why you can't get the NAV and the shaker 1000 together. Just a content restriction or a technical issue? It seems like an upscale buyer springing for one of those options would want the other.
  5. I am curious why some think the price is that high. honestly I think a list of 38-40k is a pretty good deal considering the content level. The first car i bought was an 07 fusion and the sticker on that was 28k. so 10k more for another 140hp, keyless go, more space, manumatic tranny, suspension upgrades. One you get your negotiation going you can get the price down. Demand won't be so high that they will be able to maintain sticker on these. 2009 year end sales event might just be the right time......
  6. interesting that they included eco-boost in the cover page and later on in the specific engine/tranny breakdowns but dont list what model it goes with. Obv we know it is going to be "performance series" but why mention it if the order guide is not complete??

  8. I wonder how much, if any.... extra HP will be in the V8 powertrain. Hopefully they can get to at least 330 but that is still wishful thinking.
  9. TRYING to get comments in on both of the mjor topics in on the board here. If you doubt the ability of the Ford/Haldex style AWD drive system in performance driving watch this youtube TOP GEAR (by far the best car show out there) episode where they compare the mondeo ST220 (FWD), FWD Vaxhual something, and the AWD Mazdaspeed 6 (called the MPS in europe) from which the fusion's platform was derived. If you doubt the handling and agility check out what Jeremy can do with it. A computer controlled AWD system is incredibly capable of equalizing a formerly FWD drive car with a RWD performance car. IF you dont believe it, see for your self Speed 6 vs ST220 vs Vaxhaul Also if you were wondering why ford would possibly build this car it is show room traffic. No one ever went into a mitsu dealership just to check out the basic lancer, they went in to see the EVO. Having a high performance model brings traffic into show rooms just to take a look and that is what ford seems to think they need most, just look at thier marketing focus with the 'drive one' campaign. Also I think they should def call it SVT too, that name has alot of brand equity built up from the cobra, focus, contour and lightning. Just my 2 cents, def check out the clip tho
  10. I don't see why they cant just twin turbo a 5.0 for the mustang, with VVT and DI it would be more powerful and efficient than a 6.2 NA engine could be. Even BMW is moving towards turbo V8s. For the trucks i guess they could do it only if the turbos could handle towing.
  11. How sure are we that it is a GT500. Could easily be a new BOSS. The original BOSS was road racer with actual handling ability. I think a new BOSS would be more in need of a roll cage for testing.
  12. I was in argentina last week and I saw numerous EcoSports. I thought i was a great little SUV and despite its compact size managed to maintain some of the SUV tough look even if it is powered by a 1.6L engine. Prolly would be a great vehicle to expand into the US in the new gas climate.
  13. my guess is that those are not the finalized gauges. I can't believe that they would put only a 120 mph speedo in the GT. look at the 1280X1280 photos. Probably some fake backing to mess with the picture takers. I could be wrong but i hope i am not. I like the steering wheel, hope that stays. Under that tarp has to be some kind of large screen if the car has sync. FYI great article in car and driver last month about a guy who runs the shop that produces the disquises for preproduction cars.

  15. Oh I see, i thought the 3.73 was standard on the GT and the 3.55 was a step down for better mileage. Now i see that the 3.55 is a step up from the standard GT which is 3.31. Makes my choice much easier, prolly would go with the 3.55 for sure now. I am looking at the car for daily driving, style, and the occasional stop light heroics. though i cant decide if i should just wait for the 2010 restyle.
  16. It seems to me like those ratios are pretty close. Does anyone own a GT with one or the other and can comment on which they like and which they think is best for the car.
  17. Will there will be an all aluminium version of this engine for the mustang? Its time to get the weight down and with IRS it cold be a bargain M3 beater. The 03 cobra was recognized by the car mags as a legit handling/driving sports car even with the supercharged iron block and the current shelby definitely took a step back. Dont get me wrong its a cool car but I want a real drivers mustang with the BOSS power. 350+ hp, 6M, and IRS and I will be putting my order in ASAP. I love that ford is finally making an effort to get thier drive trains up to modern spec.
