  1. Always reply. spring caps, notorious leakers, even if you don't find a leak. Make SURE the o-ring on the top of the shock piston has not rolled and that the shock piston shaft is not corroded (if it is corroded it will leak air pressure). After back together, do the "pneumatic" test first, then recalibrate.
  2. Last time I checked, when there are passengers envolved, there is a PILOT who ultimately makes the ultimate decision and hand-flies the toughest sections of the flight. Military drones are another topic, but even then there are losses due to software/weather incidences.
  3. The main point I object to, which is reinforced several times in the article, is letting the veh move WITH NO HUMAN INSIDE TO CONTROL IT.
  4. Call me old school but I cannot understand how anyone in the car business can drink the cool-aid when it comes to letting a motor vehicle go out on it's own and possibly do any number of things. Remember, the SYNC system, the BLIS system, the CROSS TRAFFIC system, PARK-AID system all currently are full of unreliable actions at some time or other ( I have to work on all of these systems). It may be that the system could be made to operate at 99%, but, to me it's just foolishness.
  5. I am currently at 14700 mi. on my 2012 F-250 regular cab 6.2l 4x4 3.73 axle. My avg mpg is 16.8 for my driving mix of rural/hwy. I expect it will drop to 15.3mpg during the winter months, which is where it hovered last winter.
  6. I had to open the hood to get to the filler cap/tank on my `63 VW.
  7. Q1: No, the RTM is a module in the veh. Q2: I swim in this stuff, 35 years now, Ford, Lincoln and MERCURY mechanic and service manager.
  8. This is a known issue for some early vehicles. A TSB has been released indicating the need to reprogram the Radio Tranceiver Module (TSB 13-05-32).
  9. The follow-up story in local paper (Washington Post) attributed it to a "clogged fuel filter".
