when i hired in,i remember a certain day of orientation,in one class,an instructor told us that if ford had their way supplier's employees would install the parts they supplied and there would be very few ford workers outside of trades.they have taken baby steps. at ktp there was a bumper problem so the supplier had people there checking the bumpers out after assembly,which would have been a good job for a medical or something.i hated busting my ass while some contractor sat around and checked a few bumpers now and then.

well,the national debt is only important as compared to the gross domestic product.it is but a small portion of our overall economy. as long as that is true it will never be a problem,and history bears this out.remember reagans huge defecits? did you ever get a bill?the simple answer is no.the defecit now will work out as well. since w's horrible tax cuts,tax revenue is actually up,believe it or not,its true. having said that, spending is out of control,and trimding actually has some good suggestions how to pay for a lot of it,if it cant be cut out. i know you think we can just stop the war and everything will be alright.someone was talking about rose colored glasses.......

ive been down this road in another local(791) at another company(american air filter). the 2 tier scale there never offered any opportunity for full pay,unlike ours. 2nd tier workers grossly outnumbered 1st tier and wanted wage parity,one way or the other. the uaw, rightly,refused to bargain for the downgrade of anyones wages. 2nd tier workers wont come into the picture until all flowbacks and transfers are complete.after all,noone has open jobs to offer anyway,right????

well,yes it does. just because you make a $60,000 investment in your business(many models are way cheaper,btw.the harley truck is $64000 many are around $40000 or so, some even less) doesnt mean you have bottomless pockets for operating costs such as fuel.you still have to compete with operators of the older trucks with significantly lower fuel costs due to much better mileage. the so called "appearance buyers", the folks who bought our trucks because they think they are cool and truly dont care about mileage.....well as it turns out they did care and stopped buying our trucks about two years ago.its not a theory,its been reported everywhere. f-series sales are down. im from ky. i love our product,and our plant (actually its a love hate thing,lol) but reality is reality bro.

well even in jsp,they cant force you to take a buyout.if they make the job offers,and you turn them down,your pay and bennies will stop but recall rights remain for the length of your seniority.an important thing to remember is that for them to offer these jobs in the first place there must be an open job to offer.right now and in the forseeable future,a few scattered trades aside,there arent any.having said all that if you are eligible to retire,you really should.
