. But instead we are on the 5th model year of the Aviator with no changes, the Chinese market receives a better version of the Corsair…the new Nautilus looks promising at least, and I do love the Navigator. Aside from that there’s no news of anything.

I think we can count on the Aviator getting the same looks as the Nautilus. How many times in a row now have they changed the styling and kept the same look across all models? It will surely get the coast to coast dash.

My dealer's sales manager tried to talk me out of buying now, telling me I'm taking a loss on F-150 trade in because incentives are high right now on new and trade ins are down. Then, I'll lose money again when the 25 Aviator arrives and I'll want that and lose money yet again.

You’re welcome and that’s great shows you really thought they are a great product which they are. The new Nautilus is awesome looking and Hybrid so it’s bittersweet that we won’t be making them. Ford should’ve had these vehicles as hybrids along time ago. Proud and sad to see them gone.

I just bought a 23 Black Label. I thought I'd buy the 24 when I went to see it. It looked fantastic in silver, but the 4 cylinder hybrid scared me away. I think it was a standard model with a rather unappealing to me interior. That may have influenced me some. It was very comfortable and the engine was nearly silent. I  was planning on an Aviator, but the only one I liked was waiting transit. After several weeks, the Aviator hadn't moved and the Nautilus just gotten off of the truck and still had all of the plastic on it. It was exactly as I would have built it so I grabbed it and got a much better deal then I would have with the Aviator. Here we are 3 weeks later and the Aviator is now at the dealer. I don't have any regrets. The Nautilus drives beautifully.

One thing escapeman mentioned has also baffled me. We are now well past Job 1 date and production Nautiluses (Nautili?) have been featured around the country at dealerships for folks to look at and maybe even sit in. When I wonder will the first drive reviews be out? My guess is that Lincoln wants to time those for closer to their being available for sale at dealerships in North America, so probably around the end of the year. Would be nice to know, though.

I got to sit in one at my dealer a few weeks ago. It looks really great in person and is quite comfortable. I sat in both drivers seat and rear seat. Rear seat is quite roomy. The Lincoln spokesman spent quite a while showing how the dash functions. The engine was running all that time and most of the time, it was hard to tell it was running. It had the 2.0. He said they aren't allowing test drives at that time because of very few fully complete  vehicles and wern't taking any chances.

I put a deposit on an Aviator that was in transit, but after several weeks and zero movement, I went with a 23 Nautilus Black Label that had just arrived. So far, I'm very pleased with it. Getting the 2.7 V6 was worth staying with the 23 IMO.

I'm assuming they are going to stand up everything they need in country, which would require the tops being made there. AFAIK they still are having production issues with the US plant with not being able to make enough of them?

China will have a paint matched top with removable side windows that won't be available in the U S.

I accidentally ran across this on Lincoln.com this evening.  I'm not sure what to make of it.  My first impression is that I don't like anything about the new Nautilus.  I had my heart set on getting one in a couple years but the more I look, the less I like.

I like what I've seen so far, other than the interior choices on Black Label. The Chalet is WAY too bright and the red looks horrible at least online. A shame they're not bringing the current ebony/tan to 24. I'd likely choose Reserve with Jet package and Onyx interior. The 4 cylinder engine is the biggest concern for me. I'm alternately thinking of going back to an Aviator.

Just throwing some guesses out there:

    1) Corsair/Nautilus coupe? (Doubt)
    2) They decided to bring Black Label to the Corsair with Continental door handles?

    3) For some reason, it is another refresh, maybe with a Nautilus matching interior.

I like #3. The Nautilus will make the Corsair look outdated if they don't bring the new interior design of the Nautilus.

You do things with your flagship model that you don’t do with other vehicles.  Tacoma is Toyota’s flagship and market leader.  F series is Ford’s.  Bronco will always get factory preference and if it comes down to supply chain shortages then F150 and Bronco come first.  That’s just good business.

It’s fairly obvious that Ford is being extra conservative on the launch to ensure higher quality and avoid parts shortages as much as possible.  I bet we will see a Platinum and more features but not this year.  If you can’t or don’t want to wait then go buy a Tacoma.

The Toyota fans are probably pissed they can’t get a Toyota Bronco or all the F150 features on Tundra.

Even though F-150 is Ford's flagship, the mid and small size markets are heating up. Ford did well with Maverick. I think they could have done better with Ranger, especially since it's been around for some time. They keep annoying customers with the F-150 by decontenting so many features that shoppers are looking elsewhere. To make things even worse, Ford can't produce their hot products in a timely manor. I gave up after waiting 2 years for a Bronco. I then waited 6 months to get an F-150 and that's with the help of my dealer working with Ford to move my priority up.

Last I looked, Ranger sales were down 22%. I'm curious to see if things get better with the new model, since everyone else has something new as well.

Fords F150 is number 1 in selling name plate only if you separate the the GM twins which together sell more than Ford in trucks. The Ranger sales have been poor and bottom of the pack because lack of features and old tech and not class leading. Ford treats its American customers like step children where they known best and not the customer on anything other than a Mustang or F150.  I like what Toyota did and offers the features that their big truck has and even more. The taco has way more features then the any Ranger. I will list them Hybrid system, heated and cooled seats, heads up display, built in air compressor, Auto AWD, power running boards, 2.4 kw invertor, power tail gate and sunroof to name a few. I know what you guys are going to say buy the F150, well not all of us want a huge truck and I for one don't like driving them and would rather a have a mid size truck with all the features of the big trucks. Would have been nice if Ford would have offered these things seeing that they offer them for the overseas customers. The Platinum Ranger is really the best looking truck in mid size class, but sadly its only for overseas customers and I would buy that truck if it was available here.  The also offer a grab handle at every door opening, where in the states we get one on the passenger side front door. Ford also also has rear air vents on the overseas Ranger models, but here in the states that is not happening.  What gives, Ford you must really hate us here in the states unless your buying a F150. Ford is not the number one selling brand that is Toyota because they listen better to their customers wants. Where Ford only wants to sell you one thing an F150. Ford use to be a full line company sold all your vehicle needs at one place. I think that will be their downfall because people like to go to one place for all their vehicle needs and Ford does not offer that anymore. Do not get me wrong I love Ford and been with them for over 3 Decades as a customer but it seem they really do not want me anymore unless I want an F150, Bronco or Mustang because everything else in their lineup is not class leading. All I want from Ford is to offer me the Platinum Ranger you already make for your overseas customer with the 2.7 V6 not detuned with the full 335 horsepower like in the Bronco. Do a search for the Platinum Ranger it is the best looking Mid size truck inside and out, come on Ford give us the options people like choices.

Like what, exactly?  I don’t see much that Tacoma has that Ranger doesn’t.

Tacoma has a sunroof ,ventilated seats, power up and down tailgate, a better balance of hard button vs on screen controls, optional white or amber fog lights, lights at the top of the bed. Hybrid has a regular 8 speed transmission.

Overall not as bad as I thought was going to wind up looking like...but I do have beg the question, who was the person who signed off on the piano black wheel arches? They look like they would get marked up to hell in normal driving or scratched to hell off roading..

If they were on an all black truck, I think they'd look good.

After watching some videos, here are a few things I noticed. Sorry if this has been said before, the website keeps having errors so haven’t read everything.

    1. No rear AC vents in any trim so far

    2. Bedside step is optional

    3. push button start only on lariat and above

    4. new shifter only on lariat and above

    5. No moonroof for fuzzy

    6. Doesn’t have the incorporated keypad in the door and instead has one of the stick on ones above the handle

    7. Some of the switchgear still looks like it’s from my 2013 fusion, mainly some of the buttons on the doors and the non electronic shifter.

    8. I usually like painted bumpers on trucks, but on this truck it makes it look cheap. Im assuming the sport package comes with the black accents on the grille and wheel arches that are shown on the white xlt and that looks pretty good.

    9. Chrome package looks bad. Chrome isn’t my thing to begin with but if you are going chrome, you really need chrome bumpers. It just doesn’t work on this truck and the chrome wheels look a bit generic. Like the chromed some XL wheels.

I know that sounds like a lot of negative, but we all know most of the positives already. Xlt sport is growing on me, hopefully the lariat comes with the sport package as well, as it seems like there are lots of trade offs if you don’t go lariat.

1 and 5 are issues for me. I'm pleasantly surprised at 3 engines choices. I thought they'd keep the 2.3 and put the 2.7 in the Raptor. The 3.0 will sell a lot of Raptors.

I don’t see any reason why they couldn’t do this for you after signing the papers. Perhaps someone with more dealer knowledge can chime in, but once the papers are signed the deal is done so why would it matter.

I have also never seen a vehicle with a different hub/bolt pattern for different wheel sizes.  That sounds suspect to me.

I always thought dealers liked to sell wheels? This dealer may be mis informed.

    Phew!

     3.0T Hybrid? Sign me up!

I'm most surprised the standard engine is the same as on their entry level model. That fact and being built in China I think will be the 2 biggest obstacles Lincoln faces. With the Corsair  at 250HP and Aviator at 400HP, even the hybrid at 310 is on the low side.

Not crazy about the new 2024 Nautilus being built (at least for now) in China and imported to North America (even though I'm going in tomorrow to put down a deposit on one), but I'll take that over buying one built in the Chicago plant. It's risky enough buying a first year model -- I can do without the risk of the Chicago facility botching up the build, as they so often do.

I thought there was no deposit required? I know you'll need to pay eventually, but tying up money for a year when you don't have to would be my choice.

So I'm Lincoln's key demographic, 70ish woman with six figure net worth... Why haven't I felt even the slightest bit motivated to enter the Lincoln corner of a Ford store?

Lincoln has been trying to get that number down for some time. With the Nautilus, they hope to attract millennials which leaves both of us out of the picture.

I don't think it's so much not being sold on EVs as it is realizing the market may not shift as quickly as has been projected, and safeguarding against THAT possibility.  They still have EVs coming, so they're not ignoring that.  But they're also not abandoning their existing current heart of their lineup, which I think is a smart move.

That's pretty much what I was getting at. With a lot more EV's on the roads, the good and bad things are starting to show up. I feel they may tap the brakes a bit and plans will get pushed out a few years.

Good points spudz64. Craig is correct about the excessive dealer count for Lincoln, and the fact that too many Lincoln dealerships have physical facilities that are paired with Ford. Hopefully an upheaval on the dealership side takes place quickly.

Craig's comment about "making sure we get the EVs right" was shockingly vague. So your guess as to what it means is as good as anyone's. Also, "timing and how many" regarding BEV new product introductions represent an integral part of "making sure we get the EVs right". There is no hope for a Lincoln sales rebound in the U.S. unless it launches its 4 planned BEV in a timely manner in the 2025-2026 timeframe and unless it makes the transition to an all-electric lineup by the end of the decade.

It sure doesn't sound like she's as sold on EV's as her predecessor and believes ICE will be around much longer. She must be seeing the concerns of first responders after witnessing the result of many accidents that cause fierce fires that take many hours and huge amounts of water to put out. Some of them even rekindle as much as 3 weeks later. Some are wondering weather existing parking structures can handle the increased weight of too many EV's. The weight issue has also been noticed by insurance companies as contributing to more damage. Many areas are not suited for recharging .Back where I came from in New England, the older cities have multi family housing built close together that have little or no room for off street parking and nobody is even guarantied a parking space on the street. How would that customer recharge?  Tax credits seem to be going away which will likely be the final nail to really stall EV.
