  1. Have you looked at the blue book value? Edmunds has a good site for this too. In this depressed market you should be paying much less than blue book.
  2. I get about 20 mpg on the freeway and 14 in the city. This is at 70-75 and I don't have a led foot and am not a granny. I have the 3.31 gears with the tow package 4x2.
  3. The door spring repair was a recall on all 07 and 08 Expeditions, no big deal. They wouldn't perform any transmission re-flashes unless the person reported a problem. Have you driven the truck? Pay close attention to how it shifts from a dead stop into 1st, 2nd, then watch as it downshifts from 2nd to 1st. Try it on a slope or hill. Come to a stop on a hill. See if it acts up upshifting or downshifing. If not you are probably ok.
  4. I would put this message in the http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?showforum=45 and maybe at flatratetech.com. Might get more traffic.
  5. Ah, found it. I see it says 9 passenger, yet I see no option for a front row bench seat with column shifter. Is this available in all trim levels?
  6. I have yet to see any interior 09 Expedition pics. Have they changed the design?
  7. Don't stress. The burden of proof is on the dealer. Have some friends, relative write a small paper saying the witnessed the problem. Take these to the mediation. Like my brakes, some things can't be fixed.
  8. I would call the dealer. The factory must have forgot to install. Whats the trim level?
  9. There is nothing behind the black plastic pop off covers on the lower front bumper?
  10. Nope. It's all about the mighty buck. No more durable goods for us.
  11. It's fit and finish is up there. The material used for interiors and exterior cladding is made of low grade materials. Does not hold up.
  12. Actually I was thinking it would cost more than that. And yes, plastic breaks, but it's cheaper and weighs less. So, no metal for us.
  13. They have the line in, but you supply your cable. A tape what? What are those. OH, cassette deck. Man, those are vintage.
  14. First step is open up dialogue with the dealership you bought it. Tell them exactly when it happens and offer to ride with them to show them the problem. See what they say and go from there.
  15. Email me for info on this. bwolfe at pacbell dot net.
  16. Is it still the 1-3 shifting that it slips?
  17. What's the issues? How many times have they tried to fix it?
  18. If you asked me 18 months ago I would have said Expedition hands down. Today, after Ford buying back my 2007 Expy for unrepairable braking problems, and now, where my 2008 has been in the shop since 8-25-08 needing a new head just after 7500 miles, I would say Yukon or Armada.
  19. If you drove both and they seem fine. No tranny bump, hesitation, I would go for the used and put the $5500 in your pocket. Is that used price their final offer, or can you beat them up a bit?
  20. I was interested but then I was blinded by animated .gifs and the such. Thanks for the info on turning them off.
