  1. Just purchased my second Escape Limited with the 6 cylinder and 6 speed tranny. This combination makes a huge difference over the 2006 Escape Limited we had. You do not really need Ecoboost because with this combination it flat flies and the mileage is great. Also have a 2007 F-150 King Ranch that ranks as the best Ford truck that I have owned.
  2. Three or four: A 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 three speed with the 351 interceptor special engine and the 1958 Thunderbird. Great cars, fast, modified, and good looking. Also had a 1972 Mercury Cougar convertible that was a great car. I will have to also put my current truck into the list: a 2007 Ford F150 King Ranch Supercrew with the 5.4 V-8, it is the copper color. Mert from Littleton, CO.
  3. Kemp77: Sorry to let you know this, it does not agree with your personal opinions. I filled up today. The net result is that I lost 3 mpg. That is a substantial savings at $1.00 full dollar per gallon. And the Governor of Colorado & Nebraska, have instituted a ten year plan with subsudies from Congress and the private sector (primarily General Motors in these two States) to continue to support this 85% Corn (and other grain like the left over hops that was disposed of by Coor's brewing company in Golden, CO that it has been found can be converted into the E-85 process). There are several new E-85 refineries in the Eastern part (farming part of this State and in the State of Nebraska) that are providing the once scare E-85 at a huge savings compared to gasoline. Now, I realize that this fuel is highly subsidized. But think of it this way. 85% crop fuel, 15% gasoline would make us fuel independent if we all used it. Or even if it was the same price as gasoline, we would be paying the cost to the United States and not foreign interests. This is not the answer to lower fuel costs, the real answer is to develop our own resources in North America, like Anwar, off shore gas resources, the oil pits in Canada, the huge oil find in Utah that no one can touch and the clean shale of the Western States that can be made into oil (IF ONLY THE GOVERNMENT WOULD ALLOW US TO TAP THESE RESOUCES!). And we need to continue to pursue other energy resouces to propell our toys. I feel very fortunate right now to have a vehicle that can use E-85 because of the cost and availability to the area in which I live (which is Littleton, Colorado). The 3 mph lower mileage that I get is fully worth the $1.00 saving per each gallon of gasoline. Check the national prices and look at Colorado. The City of Longmont has several stations and you will not believe their prices, just over $2.00 per gallon, but to far for me to travel. Some stations in Denver are making a killing by selling this fuel at or near the gas prices, but the smart buyer knows which stations are low. The station I deal with has had only a 5 cent variance in the last year, from $2.25 to $2.29. Just my 2 cents worth. And because I use the fuel my opinions are from fact and not from any other souce.
  4. In Colorado there are about 35 stations in all. With about ten more on the way. I drive about 5 miles to get mine. Here is the cost breakdown. Regular gas in Denver Metro = $3.29 today (04-06-08). Flex Fuel = $2.29 per gal. today (04-06-08). It is a great savings and I really can't tell much difference in anything. Maybe a couple gallons less per gallon, but at this price who want's to pay so much more. Go to the internet and put in Flex Fuel and you can find a national map that will tell you which States and Cities have flex fuel and where. Hope this helps. Mert
  5. I have been reading this forum for more than a couple of years and finally have decided to become a registered member. My first Ford product and those subsequent ones are as follows: 1954 Ford Fairlane 1984 Ford F-250 4X4 1955 Ford Fairlane 1989 Ford F-250 4X4 1956 Mercury Monterey 1992 Ford Escort 1958 Ford Fairline 500 1994 Ford Escort Wagon 1958 Ford T-Bird 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 1959 Ford Fairlane Convert 1998 Ford F-250 4X4 1960 Ford Fairlane 1999 Ford Expedition XLT 1967 Mercury Cougar 2001 Ford Explorer Eddie Bower Military & Vietnam work 2001 F-150 Super Crew Lariat College 2006 Ford Escape Limited 1976 Ford (forgot name) 2007 F-150 King Ranch SuperCrew 1977 F-250 4X4 1977 Have owned several other brands of autos but as you can see 1979 Mercury Cougar Convert I am a loyal FORD customer. Not all were purchased new. Probably have actually owned one or two other Fords. Have only had trouble with one vehicle, that is the F-150 I bought in 1984. Ford vehicles are super quality and built in America.
