  1. I think it looks pretty good. The designers Kia brought in are doing a pretty good job..
  2. Right, and I agree with that - the problem is, it's not going away. Special Olympics wants people to understand the weight of the expression - that for people with intellectual disabilities, it's on par with a racial slur. I wish it was that easy, but unfortunately, it's not.
  3. It's not about being politically correct - it's about respect and realizing that it contributes to hurting peoples' feelings and ostracizing those who have done nothing wrong. Trust me, the r-word"gets used a lot, by lots of people, including inappropriately by youths all over the country. If making an effort to stop the use of the r-word helps make kids with intellectual disabilities feel included in our society, then it's something that I have no problem doing. My kids definitely won't be using the word, that's for sure.
  4. Any pictures of the car that aren't concepts?
  5. Via CNN.com: Special Olympics takes on use of 'R-word' March 31 is being billed a "national day of awareness," a call to Americans to recognize and rethink their use of the word "retard," or as the organization would prefer, the "R-word." "Most people don't think of this word as hate speech, but that's exactly what it feels like to millions of people with intellectual disabilities, their families and friends," a statement about the campaign reads. "This word is just as cruel and offensive as any other slur." The push for increased respect is being spearheaded by young people who are collecting pledges or vows to not use the word at http://www.r-word.org/, and are leading online discussions on how people can get involved in this cause. I know some people with children with intellectual disabilities, so I think this is a worthwhile cause. I know that they cringe every time they hear that word used, so I've already tried to go out of my way to stop using it. What do you think?
  6. I can see where you're coming from. For a recreational pickup user, the '09 Ram is the perfect tailgate truck. Up to 240 beers/sodas, room for ice, room for golf clubs, etc... Could be a top selling point for a lot of casual truck drivers.
  7. How do you guys feel about the RamBox on the 2009 Ram? I think I would love the extra storage space. Seems useful - it holds 120 "sodas", and ice. http://www.dodge.com/en/2009/ram_1500/storage/exterior/ Thoughts?
  8. Anyone had experience with a Garmin and a TomTom and can give any insight on which one they like better? Like I said, I've been pretty satisfied with my ONE 130S (was fantastic on my New Years' trip up to New York) but I'd like to hear the thoughts of someone who has experienced both sides.
  9. Ah, I hear you. I also frequently use Google Maps Mobile on my Blackberry as well. Tele Atlas provides the maps for Google and for TomTom, so it's the same high level of quality on both services, in terms of accuracy.
  10. Did anyone get (or give) a GPS over the holidays? Prefer a TomTom, Garmin, Magellan, in-dash? I'm a TomTom man myself - using a ONE 130S right now. The ONE 125s were selling like hotcakes before Christmas, anyone get one of those? If you picked one up - thoughts? Recommendations?
  11. LOL - Well, the whole thing is directed by Tony Scott (Man On Fire), so it makes sense why it looks like that. I thought the idea behind the Challenge was pretty cool. Whenever there's an obstacle course involved, I'll watch. American Gladiators, Double Dare, you name it. Link!
  12. Dodge has created the “Ram Challenge" to promote the 2009 Ram, a reality competition between four different teams (construction workers, cowboys, firemen, and military personnel) who take on American Gladiators-style endurance tests through multiple elimination rounds. http://ramchallenge.yahoo.com - What do you guys think? Could a Tundra hold up to the same abuse?
