  1. The ultimate responsibility for whatever the problem is at CAP lies with management.Know that there is a ripple effect taking place as a result of transporting explorers to Flat Rock Mi. to be repaired. Two steps forward, one step back, kinda thing. In all fairness the main responsibility lies with Jim Hackett CEO and his merry band of engineers.Maybe they all got "hummers" from the gangs?Excuse me "roving bands of employees" is what I meant to say.Superior intellects ,in control of the situation, who will have things straightened out,,,,,,,eventually.
  2. When users start trashing each other for the sole reason of trashing each other and vulgarity is used things can go downhill in a hurry.I have been suspended multiple times and all I did was express my desire to make love to someone who also happens to be a mother? It does help make us all appear to be more intellectual.
  3. How does anybody know anything then? For 'crying out loud' the media has picked up on "roving groups of employees" causing difficulty with the launch.WTF?Decker in the plant I am currently employed,I see workers giving it their 'best shot'.Surprisingly,Ford Management at the plant is professional. You would be surprised how much more effort you get out of an employee once that individual is treated fairly.Yes,it was an ex-employee of CAP who gave me that information,I have never been there. The cause of my distress is,,,,,,if CAP is such a SCREW UP,then why is anybody at another plant even trying? The success of Ford Motor Company is all of ours meal ticket.CAP is an assembly plant for cryin out loud.Where is productivity more critical than inside of a vehicle assembly plant? The botched launch at CAP is having a ripple effect.I follow stocks and even in this era of QE ,$1,000,000,000{ I thought Ford invested around that much in CAP} is a LOT of money. We work for Ford Motor not Google or Apple or Microsoft. It is not 1960 it is 2019.Jim Hackett should be held personally responsible.A correct major decision, like the launch of a major, money making vehicle, is why the the CEO gets paid enormously. The new explorers are being transported to Flat Rock Michigan for repairs? In all fairness the root cause of the problem may be with management and engineering,I dont have any firsthand knowledge. It just dont look good.I am sure there are many good hourly employees at CAP.Good-Luck.
  4. Onto Ford and I am ready and with ya,Furry.Take NO SHIT! Want me a 40 in a paper bag and a STRIKE sign.Come bail me out, please,if necessary.I want the exact same financials as in the GM contract,,,,,,no bullshit.
  5. I hear from ex workers of CAP that gangs are present inside of the plant.I hear that the neighborhood where the plant is located in is a high crime area. The gangs get connected with the union and management, that is where the power lies. The pot of gold is controlled by the person filling out the time sheets, assigning work and enforcing the rules.I have been told by ex-employees of CAP that Zero Tolerance is arbitrarily and capriciously enforced.Any rules that are arbitrarily and capriciously enforced are not respected. The person I talked to said to me that some of the employees of CAP are ex-felons and may become violent if upset just because they dont care. The person I talked to,has witnessed physical violence inside of the CAP.Jim Hackett made the decision to invest a billion dollars into this plant and needs to take the reponsibility.Who hires?Who is suppose to be in charge of running the plant?Weak management and gangs disrupting the atmosphere = close the plant=lose $$$$.I gotta say it.Call me whatever. The first thing I would recommend is a Time Audit and any supervisor padding the payroll for favored employees faces disciplinary action. Then I would suggest busting up all the cliques by scattering the supervisors around to all new areas of the plant. Yes,I have been around a long time and I have witnessed thousands of deals handed out by low level supervisors as they see fit. After all this approach is easier for the supervisor than say, supervising, and there could be a little kick-back in it for them.I can understand rewarding someone who goes above and beyond from time to time as a motivational tool, but giving that power to low level managers, things can quickly get out of hand and things at CAP appear to have gotten out of hand.Lastly let the union know that the contract will be equally enforced and that means it doesnt matter, if the guilty employee is your cousin or not. Zero Tolerance means Zero Tolerance and applies to every single employee hourly and salary and union officials.Come on,female employees {from what I hear}dont feel safe using the restrooms?Where is the morality?Of course the company and the union already know everything I just wrote and they dont care or they are unable. There is a serious problem,Mr.Hackett ,you are getting played and the company is getting stolen from.Mr.Hackett you invested a billion dollars into a plant with chronic problems.Mr.Ford,,,,,time to notice.Customers pay $35,000 up to $100,000 to buy a vehicle and they have many choices in a competitive industry.Good Luck if you work there, stay safe.
  6. Good Luck to you,no one should have to fear for their safety or get bullied at work either by fellow workers, the union or managers.Hey I was reading an analyst opinion, that Ford may offer buyouts to lower the amount of legacy employees. We wont know with certainty whats gonna happen until its our turn at the plate.Shame of it ,is the fact that many good people living in the USA, would love a chance to have one of those Ford jobs at CAP.
  7. I read an article in the news about the difficulty Ford is having with the New Explorer launch.I guess CAP has problems like "Roving groups of workers are intimidating other employees, creating a hostile environment".JIM HACKETT knew this before he invested billions into CAP.WEAK MANAGEMENT and a lousy workforce=$$$ lost and eventually the plant will close. The same thing happened with Fords Plant that assembled the LTD,decades ago.JIM HACKETT is over his head.So "roving groups",you mean like,GANGS of employees are slashing tires and messing with others property and sabotaging the product launch?Fan-FUCKING {go ahead suspend me}-Tastic.I always noticed how totally unprofessional the majority of Ford salaried managers are, they are mostly narcissistic and just turn into the leaders of cliques, handing out deals or punishment.Ford lower level managers, most I have run into, have no administrative skills whatsoever.I am sure the majority of the workforce would not mind the gangs getting broke-up, because people like to feel safe at work.Ford`s bottom line is also our financial security. No wonder 'ididntdoit' wants a buyout so bad,I dont blame him.Ford management is to blame for this disaster!Customers decide all our fates!Customers want quality!
  8. @Ididntdoit,you lost me with the reasons why the GM contract is a bad deal.I read that after 4 years all production will make the same. What is it now?Is that an improvement? The 3 plants that are closing are the only negative I see and is it in anyone`s best interest to see the company make bad business decisions?Buyouts? The timing has to be perfect and you have to be a good candidate for the buyout and then you cross your fingers cuz you would be surprised how many of your fellow employees have 40 years plus and they eat first, like it or not.An employee with 25 years who expects Ford to buy them out and on top of that, grant 5 years seniority for time NOT worked?Okay,it is like $53 a month in pension for every year worked so 5 times 53 = 263 dollars extra-unearned-every month of your life? And why?Figure you may live 30 years collecting a Ford pension?Do you realize what you are asking for,in dollar terms? The answer under that scenario= $94,680.Maybe if your plant is closing and the IUAW plays hardball.Only time I might have put in for a buyout,I wasnt really ready to go and only 2 people got the buyout anyways and they both had 40+ years and maybe they took home $26,000.Turned out I was right in stayin {not that I could have gotten a buyout anyways}because i needed the healthcare and Ford Motor, company provided ,healthcare ROCKS!There is always Plan B= keep drawing a paycheck. From the company point of view and our paychecks say FORD not UAW an experienced, proven reliable, trained, acclimated employee is a valuable asset. The company will never say how much they need us but they do need us.Right now the questions are, will GM workers vote yes and which company is the next target.
  9. I hear people say the GM contract is bad but then they dont tell me how or why they just walk away upset. The only downfall I see with it is the 3 plants that are closing but those workers have been offered jobs at other plants or buyouts.Of course I dont know every detail.GM got an 11K signing bonus,3% raises,4% bonuses. All production workers make the same after 4 years. The pension participants get 1K and trades gets 1K tooling allowance every 2 years.I think the exact same offer by Ford would pass, easily.Buyouts at Ford?Who knows? They have stopped making sedans and terminated thousands of salary workers,so maybe they need fewer people.A buyout really only works if you are already, ready to go,then its icing on the cake.Unless you have 40+ or you are at a plant that is closing, you can apply but,you may not get the buyout.Once taxes eat into that buyout,"Youre RICH",IRS,it may be less than you expect.Someones gotta pay for government spending or did any of you fall for that "FREE" bullcrap?
  10. I would be willing to go on strike IF the company does not do something for the Temps and the lower tiers and I am not one of them. Then I would be making a positive contribution for future UAW workers.Somebody in the past did it for me.Lets be hopeful and wish that its good contract for all and it includes $130,000 buyouts!
  11. Call everybody who has a different idea about whats fair any name you want.I would NOT be willing to strike over the Holidays for extra buyout $$$$$ if Ford offers any buyouts at all, they will set a dollar amount , they think will get them the reduction in force that the company wishes to obtain.I "feel" hungry and horny but thats just me all the time!
  12. WOW, the Canadian Workers get a better deal with UNIFOR representation.Just let me say this AND ALSO a lot of backing of unions, from their government, along with society in general.USA citizens are programmed to distrust, each other. Its a different atmosphere than Europe or Canada.Do you think majority of workers in the USA are gonna empathize with us,UAW workers?Besides after the CRA {Canada`s IRA} get their cut 150K will turn into 75K.
  13. Its not about what anybody "feels" we are talking economics. The company doesnt care how we "feel".The company has manpower needs and only so much $$$$ to offer to settle the contract. The UAW is obligated to represent ALL of its members. The union addressed some major concerns. So,you want the contract $$$ to go to employees who are leaving the company by retiring and less for the younger, lower seniority workers who will remain active?Lets see,I am a negotiator for the IUAW and I will tell the lower tier workers and temps,"All the $$$ is going to buyouts, you guys stay the same".Does that sound fair?Buyouts are not automatic. As for "feelings",you dont have to take the buyout.Instead of taking the buyout,"feel",wanted and needed which you are,you got a job ,with 200 hours of paid leave + all the company paid holidays, good health care!Besides Ididntdoit, how are we gonna 'run' without ya!!!!!! Once again,we are commenting on GM`s contract,Ford may not offer any buyouts.PRISONER {insert social security number}CAP----clang!
  14. I am not sure what is happening with quality at CAP,what is the 'root cause' of the problem.Ford is oriented more towards, mass production. As far as new equipment, the trades are rarely offered training EXCEPT for maybe a select few who work on the installation. Its, "Go Figure it Out", when its "down",from management.Well technology keeps getting more and more complicated and journeymen tradespeople are NOT Thomas Edison,Albert Einstein,Neil Armstrong,Elon Musk etc.etc.I dont think any of them would show up at all hours, put on coveralls, eat stink and get paid $35 an hour. The management at the plants do get $$$$ for training but they often use it for something else.I have seen this happen first hand. When serious problems do arise, management points figures and gets angry.
  15. Well,3 plants are closing and that means fewer employees but that is the nature of the business.Times change and consumer preferences change.I think some people are overly optimistic that their personal situation will be addressed.Other than that I think the GM contract is $$$$ Rich and i hope Ford gets $11,000 in new money for a signing bonus!
  16. I am in a different classification than you.I hope for a buyout BUT I understand that there is only so much $$ to go around and I dont expect the contract to be tailored to suit me personally. As far as what Ford means when they use the term "restructuring" we will soon find out.Ford is not making sedans anymore and you would think that would mean they need fewer employees but I dont know.In the meantime,we can all hope.Man,that GM contract was $Rich$.6 figure buyouts and getting credit for years of seniority, that you didnt work, sound great but consider it the icing on the cake and dont count on it happening.Good-Luck
  17. Then ,keep drawing a paycheck and getting raises and bonuses and vacation days and paid holidays, and better healthcare!Looks like in the GM Contract, the majority of the buyouts are going to be from plants that are closing. Its all based on manpower needs.Going into the contract, many thought that 1st tier production employees would be bought out, so 2nd tier employees would have no one around,to be jealous of anymore and then be satisfied with getting paid less.I dont know what Fords plan is but we will soon find out.Right now its looking like the buyouts for my trade is,,,,,,,,want some more overtime!I am hoping for a buyout too.Once again, these are the highlights from the General Motors Contract,we work for Ford.results may vary.We can all hope, cant we?
  18. If Ford has any offer at all.Keep in mind that GM is closing 3 plants. That will save GM $$$ and lessen the need for manpower. Not sure what Ford`s manpower needs are but we are about to find out. Also keep in mind that GM is a wealthier company than Ford.I hope our final contract will be as rich but Ford is not GM.
  19. Just a minute now,Cecil.Did ya ever stop and think how are we gonna 'run' without ya!Slow down a second!
  20. Sounds pretty good, especially for temps and 2nd tier.It was also mentioned that buyouts would be offered to workers who`s plant is closing.I think this contract is going to pass, easily .Now,,,,who`s next at bat?
  21. The DEMOCRATS strategy to regain power is criticize Trump and promise "FREE" stuff {actually taxpayer subsidized} to anyone and everyone who aspires to do as little as possible.I never worked for a poor person. The original Henry Ford was genius.I have driven Ford`s my whole life and other brands do not even exist,to me.
  22. You are correct. The overall majority decides the contract. If the new terms says that trades does not make 1 penny more than production and instead, spread that extra money around to everybody and it passes by a majority, its gold.Trades are kept happy with overtime.
  23. They all say the same thing;Be Compliant;Be glad you have, any job;if "They" like you,you may get a "Deal";if "They" dont like you,the union cant help you;Eat stink from supervision and dont give any back;"They" can do that;Smile more often, youre getting paid, arent you.
  24. My guess is that AOC tried to stick-up Jeff Bezos for Mo Money after the deal was already struck. That Amazon Headquarters he was planning to build in AOC`s distric will probably be standing 100 years from now.So all the minority people she represents, can now go apply at restaurants and party stores for jobs.THANKS AOC!
