  1. The local union officers have been called into Detroit for a meeting on Thursday.Could be voting on a tentative contract, things are getting exciting! Remember Gary Jones,,,,,the Feds are paying close attention,so only 1 {maybe 2} free donuts along with all the free coffee you can drink!
  2. So what is better Than Trump?Socialism?Socialism is a clear path towards communism.USA is NOT a small, Scandanavian country.Okay here is truth,,,,,give ALL your hard earned money to the government and then, trust the government to take care of you and be ready to stand in line and fill out forms.Democratic Socialism = vote to take away other people`s $$$$ and redistribute it to where it rightfully belongs, which is YOU?Hey,,,,,,,,like em or not, Henry Ford + Jeff Bezo`s and Dan Gilbert and Bill Gates,etc.etc. have created more jobs than me,let alone a homeless person or a welfare king.GET IT!?!Maybe they DO deserve a little bit more, respect, for the way in which society has benefited from their smarts?
  3. Well, hold on for a second. The portion of the original offer that was made public by GM was nothing to get excited about. What are we to believe now? That the IUAW is playing "hardball" ,because it forced the membership out on strike?ONLY IF,the final offer is better than what GM originally published. In the background of all this {as if we dont have enough stress} is the indictment of the top IUAW officials by the FBI and by the way,the FBI always has EVIDENCE in it`s corner before it acts.Strike for what?2% lump sum or wage increase for the next 4 years?$8,000 signing bonus, plus, lets add a little ,say $500,just to keep the bozo`s happy?A clear path towards permanent employment for the temps?Got news for ya,,,,the temps are valuable because they are trained/experienced and have proven themselves reliable.Auto factory jobs require more than just being a "dummy" besides what the media and union bashers say.A $10,000 signing bonus for all along with 2% wage increases PLUS 3% bonuses in alternating years along with a clear path for temps to be hired permanent along with NO change to health benefits. All that and maybe I will drop my insistence that Mary Barra swing around a pole to the tune 'Funky Town',down at the union hall.
  4. Uhhhhhh,,,,,,,,I dont know,,,,,,,must have been a 'Freudian Slip'
  5. Electric Vehicles make up a very small percentage of overall sales, less than 2%. I dont think we need to panic over job losses right now.My guess is the company is working on the technological end planning 50 years into the future.Unless there is a Socialist Government mandate and of course taxpayer funded subsidies, the vast majority of consumers do not want electric vehicles.
  6. I dont mind his posts.Give me a break, who is impressed or intimidated with silly {scary?}pictures and name calling on a keyboard.WOOF-WOOF and BOW-WOW.Just make a point, well thought out or not.The guy does seem like a strong union member.I read the letter put out by GM to its employees and it seems like a deal is close. Those GM people struck for all of us,Way to Go and they are now in the Automotive History Book!Oh yeah,I forgot.About the signing bonus at Ford.I dont wanna see any of this pull ahead profit sharing shit.I want to see a solid $10,000.
  7. Has the Lifetime Income Benefit been increased for the pensioners in the past few contracts? If not then the pensions have already been frozen. This move alone saves Ford Motor money. So in a way the pensioners have been paying for the last couple contracts.I dont see things changing anytime soon.I only see it getting worse by higher co-pays for VEBA.About the IUAW corruption, which any honest, ethical person would agree is wrong and deserves to be punished.Keep in mind that those UAW members who benefited from association with IUAW higher ups are sad that the corruption has been found out.Perks like, no show union jobs, invitations to meetings/parties/paid union leave and a vacations on Black Lake. There are more people with their 'fingers in the pie' out here than just the higher ups.Innocent until proven guilty of course and if convicted the culprits turn into PRISON SCUM.
  8. If he is a union member in good standing,he gets to have an opinion.I say "if" because I am old school enough NOT to believe everything I read on a computer screen.I dont see the need to be so obnoxious and hey,I was like that in the past so I aint perfect either.I mean make a point at least, be it well thought out or not.Autoworkers are in a tough spot right now and this is no time to start fighting each other.Speaking of which aint none of us intimidated by name calling on a keyboard. This issue of corruption should concern every member.Anyways,I guess now,we just wait it out.OHH-EEE-OHHH,,,,WHOA-OOOO!
  9. GM could be using the $$$$ they are losing to buy labor peace. They could be boosting employee, morale and gaining loyalty along with the positive public relations of being a good corporate citizen.Instead they wanna fight.Well they got one and by the time this strike is over Mary Barra will be swinging form a pole for tips!
  10. The politicians are being misleading and dishonest when they advertise large government programs as "FREE".College and healthcare are anything but free and health care is a limited asset.Who pays?Well anybody getting an above board paycheck or Social Security check ,along with small business in the form of taxes.Large Corporations will try and pass the taxes along to the consumer.Taxes will go up on everything, like soda pop and candy, chips. The government may start assessing people`s habits and charging them more for being over weight or smoking or gun ownership.Assets may be taxed.Taxpayers will pay every month after month and when you want to use healthcare, wait times will increase, you will probably see a nurse or Physicians Assistant who will triage you and then hope that the government approves your tests and treatment plan.It wont matter that you are one of the "payers" its all "free" and for everyone in the world? Why not expand Medi-Caid for those without insurance.Make is so medical bills do not force a person into bankruptcy and work on bringing costs down?Socialized Medicine in the USA will be lower quality and remain expensive. The main beneficiaries will be those who pay no taxes or anyone who jumps the border and they will fill the emergency room every time they sneeze or feel an ache.
  11. Todays ,10/7/19,Detroit Free Press has an opinion article."Amid Corruption Allegations the UAW needs a fresh start".The article is written by Rev.Peter Laarman and Frank Joyce both retired public relations officials of the UAW.We the hard working dues paying members deserve an honest and ethical union ,by law.All this is a distraction and may enter into the final outcome in a negative way.The union THUG`s are rare, fortunately and give us all a bad rap, although they are amusing.I have paid dues for over 3 decades,I get to have,my say.Good Luck to the GM strikers, they are striking for every autoworker in the nation.God Bless em.
  12. Oh PLEASE,,,,,,,there may not even be a company to work for,if those concessions allowing multiple tiers and temps were not implemented.Autos exists in a competitive industry.See GM on strike? Is that enough of "sticking up for them" for ya?Besides any legacy employees get a written, guarantee that those that are temps and lower tier will always stick up for us?
  13. As far as the lower tiers and temps go,,,,,,one point that was made to me,,,,is that when they hired in,,,they KNEW the score.Okay, the union says strike I strike. Not gonna matter much to me and DAMMIT I am union man and for the sake of solidarity and realizing that some old time bad-ass, mother lovers did it for me,I will gladly go on strike,if called for.Now lemme ask you dis,,,,,in the future contracts would the temps and lower tier strike to support me?For a fully funded VEBA?Being a strong union member requires a person to have "character".The retirees and future retirees have been paying for the last 2 contracts. We stick together,,,,we win.watch this shit,as GM {big, big, rich, corporation, who prepared for this} sees its supply of Silverado pick ups dwindle,,,,how you like dat,Mary?Hey ,Ford Motor ,made WITHOUT your tax dollars, announced a sale on pick ups today!WHOOAAA GM,,,,,,,BAM-A-LAM!
  14. I wish the strikers at GM all the luck. They are striking for us too because the financials that are agreed to when that contract is finally settled will become the pattern agreement. The company is playing hardball. From what I can gather the issues facing the ,Temps and lower tiers are getting the most attention. Now we wait until GM supply of Silverado pick-ups get low and when they do,buyers will simply move on to Ford and other competitor`s brands.
  15. Just ignore the guy and get back inside the paint booths until I say you can come out.Keep Smilin! "The dam thing gone wild-BAM-A-LAM!"
  16. Reading all I can about the GM negotiations, the company is playing hardball.Had Ford been the target,I doubt if we would have been offered much different. If we go on strike I think its like 4 hours a day of strike duty, every other day.GM plant in Mexico that assembles the Silverado is now idle due to parts shortage. Now we wait until GM dealer inventories get low.Meantime GM is paying healthcare to the strikers? This whole thing might have been orchestrated to benefit both the company and the IUAW.What are we toothless "pawns"?That was a rhetorical question by the way.The hourly workers, the little guys, always bear the brunt.GM hourly workers are not just striking for themselves.Unions workers help raise the bar for everybody and that includes salary workers as well.
  17. Alternate points of view on the subject of alternative energy are VERBOTTEN.This leads a person to accept the possibility that government subsidies are going to be a major force in electrification and self-driving vehicles.I hear some scientist and engineers claim that by the time you factor in the cost of,along with damage to the environment, that will be needed to create the infrastructure required to support alternate energy the advantages go way down.Government Subsidies,,,,all that taxpayer $$$$$,,,,just for the stealing.I mean taking.I mean,,,,windmills and solar are no magic solution and by the way still require fossil fuel back-up for when the wind doesnt blow and the sun dont shine.Nuclear would be a better option but "Government Subsidies" may not apply as well. So,we get,Greta Thunberg, the 16 year old kid {used as a prop} going passive-aggressive,lecturing everybody about everything and anything, while we show up to work our jobs and pay taxes.Bottom line is that neither the auto companies or the consumer are going to have any choice in the matter.
  18. I assumed that progress was being made when GM agreed to pay for the strikers healthcare.Paying benefits to strikers? If temps are the sticking point. How about giving them paid time off and all the benefits just like permanent employees get BUT everything else stays the same?I mean after all they did apply for what was clearly advertised as a "temporary" position.GM is gonna start to feel the heat when their inventories dwindle.
  19. They're gonna "CHEESE" us by offering us $500 less than GM`s signing bonus?$2000 "pull ahead" on profit sharing.Miserly 2% lump sum/wage increase?I hypothetically vote NO!
  20. Good points you make. Also, with Gary Jones and Dennis Williams facing indictment for corruption and remembering that ,juries play a major role in the outcome of any trial, has this strike been planned to give the UAW some credibility?I mean after all,we all know that paying for strippers, parties is just part of the atmosphere.Yes it was done with the dues paid by some hard working UAW member BUT of course the main objective is always how to make it better for the membership.Lets wait and see what the contract looks like.
  21. I heard that the Ford Family thought Nasser was getting 'too big for his briches'.I remind you ,we work at FORD`S.
  22. Comm-u-nism makes everything "FREEEE" thats why we should vote BERNIEEE.Too late, the cat`s out of the bag.Get a sense of humor
  23. BERNIE! Will set you,,,,,,FREEEEEEE! now they will lock it! what do these silly things do?
  24. The Supreme court has ruled that a corporation my contribute unlimited $$$$ to people running for office.2 candidates were seeking donations from Exxon,Apple,JP Morgan/Chase etc. They were brought in to be interviewed.Candidate #1 we have only 1 question for you. What does 1 plus 1 equal? Why,that is easy, one plus one equals 2.The correct answer is 2!Candidate #2 when asked the same question responded, that is easy. One plus one equals whatever YOU TELL ME TO SAY it equals.Meantime we are suppose to kill each other over race and what else?By the way healthcare is NOT "free".The taxpayers will see a tax increase payable evey month. Now how easily you will be able to access this "free" healthcare and the quality of this "free" healthcare reamains to be determined but the taxpayers will pay for it,NOT the corporations who simply pass along tax increases to their consumers.Smaller government= more freedom.Come get my gun , kitty face,Beto {press 1 for english},,,but first,,,I got some ammo for ya!
