  1. You need to set up a appointment with your ESSP rep. I am serious.............You scare me.
  2. I know nothing about Rawsonville but I am starting to feel sorry for your Joel. He has to fight management and people in his membership like you. How can the man stay focused when his own membership stabs him in the back? You need help.
  3. You are full of sh!t. The Company doesn't know what they are doing next week let alone 4 months from now. Let us enjoy our summer and stop this rehtoric. Our moral is low enough. In fact if you are so sure of your"source" post it. If not come clean and apologize, SH!T starter.
  4. Young Jedi, There is much for you to learn. You see I was once like you hating the Union structure, pointing fingers, criticize every move the Union made. Then I got involed with my committee, asking questions, getting involved. I found out all of reasoning behind the Unions reactions and why they did certain things to be proactive. You need to get involved, you will feel much better about yourself. BTW I made over 150,000 last year. No bullshit here. No go learn about Unionism and get involved with your committee and local, Young Jedi. Anything less is just a lame excuse.
  5. I have said it before and I will say it again. I like the 7-day. I have made a fist full of money and stayed out of gen. Before the 7 day there were over 50 of us in gen. I hope the 7 day stays with the company wanting no ot. This is a perfect scenario. Stay on 7 day and we still get .35 cents more a hour and 1 1/4 on the weekends. If we go back on the 5 day I believe over 100 of us will be in gen. Also the RDW holidays have been voluntary since December. I work every holiday I can to get paid double time and a half (2 1/2) rate.
  6. Here is a article stating how Gettlefinger is underpaid compared to other Union Leaders. Also, you will see you are misinformed where at the 2006 Constitution Convention there was a motion and accepteance for the 3% increase fully supported by the delegates. Gettlefinger is not self serving as you portray. So if the delegates you elected to vote on your behalf voted for the increase then complain to youself about who you voted for..... Educate yourself before you post. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...5/BIZ/708150406
  7. Millwrights and most of the Trades at DTP made well over $150,000. We have members that make more than our President and I think that is wrong. Our President is underpaid compared to most Union Presidents. Someone had posted these facts awhile back. Gettlefinger was one of the lowest paid leaders. I don't have the time to look now but I will find it this Weekend and post it. This man gives 24/7 and IMO he is severly underpaid. If the pay raise was in the constitution that means there was a motion and majority support for the increase at the Convention. So it is not self serving as you portray, clearly supported by the membership. Understand now yng jedi, hardball, sun3,,, chirper or any of your other handles.
  8. Lets put Rawsonville on one Thread. It is sickening to see 10 seperate threads on the same Hillbilly drama.
  9. With all of these posts about Rawsonville it gives the impression the Membership is a bunch of dysfunctional Hillbillies. I am sure the membership is filled with hard working brothers and sisters but please stop this drama. I am not putting down the membership but these threads are sickening. It does no good for the Union or the company. To be honest it is quite embarassing. Please let the threads die. We need good information.
  10. Thanks Captain. I was trying to help out the situation explaining the different units and I was made to be some sort of liar. Thanks for the back up. Stamping and body is a seperate unit. Hope this helps.
  11. Look......Just trying to help you out. DTP Body and Stamping is a stand alone unit. This seperate unit happened after the 2003 agreement. The 2007 cba (whenever its available) should have it listed seperate. The local also has this info. I suggest you ask your rep for clarification or go to the local yourself. Again, this is a seperate unit

  13. Welcome to the Rouge site. We at the Rouge are all represented by "units". Body is in the Body Stamping Unit. Final and Paint is another seperate unit, where your senioriity is active. When we get laid off in "the Rouge" we fill open reqs first then bump low on the site. You don't get to pick and choose. Its all based on site seniority. Read the contract on seniority specific to the Rouge.
  14. Hardball/Chirper/Sun3 First of all I am trying to help you. I am not elected but was furious with my leadership 2 years ago and got involved with my union leadership. I asked questions, learned, understood the issues and why decisions are made for various reasons. I still have disagreements with my leadership from time to time but I still support them because I understand the issues before I spout off. You are miss guided and you need to ask questioins of your leaders, go to meetings, support your committeeperson, ask to volunteer. You are being hard on yourself harboring all of these feelings and basically complaining to a keyboard. Get involved. Also you are unaware of the fact your dues do not pay your committeeperson, bargaining or your "Joel". You need to get involved, learn the contract, know your contract, talk to your committee, get the facts not just shit house rumors. I am not trying to belittle you, just trying to help
  15. Hardball/sun3/chirper It is obvious you are the same person. You are no help whatsoever to the Union. You discredit at every chance you can with nothing but needless babble. Every other thread on here is "Joel sucks" "Union Sucks" ETC, ETC, ETC..... You offer no help when people need it most and you blame everything on the Union. Have you ever walked a picket line to help other sectors with their causes, I am guessing "No". Have you ever offered to help your local with food drives or the many community efforts the locals provide, Iam guessing "No". Have you ever just walked up to you committee and said thanks for a thankless job, I am guessing "No". You see you are the union. If you sit there and just throw out needless babble and further distance yourself from helping your leaders achieve our goals, we are forever doomed. I remember Saturdays and Sundays growing up going on picket lines with my GrandFather and Father helping the union organize. Basically volunteering to advance the union cause. People like you disgust me. You sit back and say "service me" and add no value to the cause. Hey Level, Don't leave this site. This person clearly has salary intent to discredit our union. Myself and my co workers talk all of the time about your insight and help during tough times. We ask our committeeman about your statements and they agree with you 100% of the time. Many of us trust you. Please stay. Also, I went to Levels profile and if you knew anything about the contract the Birthday Level stated was 10-29-84. This is our contractual LEVELing date. Good job Level!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Thanks Level for clearing up the bulls@#t once again. Certain members on this site try to discredit our great union and you make myself and all of my fellow co workers proud to be UAW. Don't get discouraged and leave this site. We have needed someone like you to straighten up all of the negative rhetoric on this site. Thanks again
  17. Last year when we went on the 7 day most of us disliked the schedule. The 7 day was actually good thing for me and about 50 other trades that were in GEN at the time. The 7 day requires extra man power and thank God we went on it when we did. I was going stir crazy in GEN. Not to mention most us that want to work have made well into the mid 6 digit figure last year. When we are scheduled on a holiday we get paid double time and 1/2. Weekends are 1 1/4 plus we get .35 more per hour. The hang up is when we are scheduled to work on a holiday the Maintenance Unit has forced the company to survey for volunteers first then if they have to, force the low seniority that was originally scheduled to work. So far we have always had plenty of volunteers. Right now this is a verbal Union/Management agreement. The Maintenance Unit wants this language it the unit agreement and Management says it is fine as a verbal agreement. This is just one issue I know of. I personally hope our Unit gets it in writing. PS Don't Knock the 7-Day Schedule. Most of us like it now. $$$$$$$$$
