  1. Why in the hell would we want to vote out our leadership? The very organization that protects us. Pure stupidity. We would end up with some #3 committeeman with less than 1 term as President and that is supposed to help our cause???? How???? We are in a fight for our lives and you weak asses want to break us from within....... Just plain stupid.... When you point a finger there are four pointing back at you..... The cause of the problem is lack of sales and the American market. NOT THE IUAW........... Heres something new. Get involved with you local union.
  2. KC and KC HVC are in a stand alone zone. Basically bump themselves if people are in ILO status.
  3. Thanks Level for your truths you speak. You are 100% correct on all issues. Please keep up the good work.

  4. [ There is no second chance. If this agreement is voted down Ford will get their cost savings one way or another. Right now it is on our terms. If voted down it will be done on their terms. Plant closings, no new investments, layoffs, etc.. They will get their cost savings. So you can sit there and pound your chest and think you are standing up for something. Or you can look down your street and see whats really going on in the real world. Dont be a fool. Protect you future and vote yes
  5. Please name the 9 plants that are named in this new agreement as closing. There are none...... This agreement keeps plants open and brings new investment...... Who do you think will benefit from this agreement? High and low seniority alike. Who do you think will be providing the transmission for the transit and transit connect? They will more than likely get the 3.5 and 3.7 engines. Geuss who makes those transmissions for those engines... Ding ding ding....Winner Vandyke. Another winner the HF 35....... Ding ding ding.. Goes to Vandyke If the agreement is less than 80% yes at Vandyke, I would call you guys fools. Go talk to people in Livionia and Sharonville. They would severe their left arm to get the transmission investment you got. I cant believe that you are foolish enough to even think about voting no. Vote yes, the job you save may be your own
  6. Its all about job security. The low seniority that may be affected will have JOB SECURITY. This agreement has PRODUCT INVESTMENT which equals JOB SECURITY They will always have RTBU rights. Did you tell them that if voted down the next agreement will be GMs which includes plant closings, loss of base wages, no job security? Vote YES
  7. Show your leadership. Do you support the agreement? You must inform your membership if this is voted down we will take the pattern of GM. As you know the GM and Chrysler agreement has huge base wage cuts, limited health care, crushes retirees, NO JOB SECURITY,...... You must take a position. Lead your people. Do you support the agreement?
  8. I would hope with the product investment and volume increases planned at Vandyke you lead your people with the truth. Vandyke has been getting all of the transmission work plus the HF 35. Most of these concessions benefit the locations with announced product like Vandyke. I would hope you inform your VANDYKE membership that for some reason they are blessed with product and job security. They dont have to worry about getting bumped or having to move out of zone. Dont cave in and play politics with your members. Tell them the truth, they are looking for your leadership. I would hope Vandyke gets over 80% yes vote Anything less would be a slap in the face to the rest of UAW-Ford. Get it right. Vote yes. The job you save may be your own.
  9. See artcile below. This happened just recently. A small group of misinformed members put out bad information telling everyone to vote no. The vote went down and the plant could not operate with out modifications to their agreement. The plant will be closing. The members cried for a revote and the company denied renegotiating or even a revote. VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Reuters) - Magna International (MGa.TO) will close its gear assembly plant in Syracuse, New York, the Canadian auto parts maker said on Wednesday, after workers rejected a contract the company said was necessary to keep the factory competitive. The shutdown of the New Process Gear facility will ultimately eliminate 1,400 jobs. A company statement said a tentative agreement negotiated by the company and United Auto Workers union would have given the facility a future, and that it was disappointed that the employees had rejected it. "Going forward, NPG will not be able to be competitive without the operational advantages and cost savings proposed in the agreement, and as a result, Magna Powertrain will initiate a wind-down plan for the site," it said. The shutdown will take some time while the company holds discussions with employees, suppliers and customers, said Marc Neeb, Magna's executive vice-president of global human resources. Union officials were not immediately available for comment, but were preparing a statement. Details of the rejected agreement have not been made public. The plant, which makes transfer cases for trucks and SUVs, lost $117 million in 2007, and workers agreed in early 2008 to cut wages and benefits in return for a payment that would ease them into a new hourly wage rate, according to media reports in Syracuse. (Reporting by Wojtek Dabrowski and Allan Dowd; editing by Peter Galloway) 1,400 jobs gone 1,400 lives ruined No second chance Trust our union Vote yes...... The job you save may be your own
  10. There will be no "revote". The company will get their cost savings 1 way or another. Bankruptcy Plant Closings Layoffs Investments to other countries. This is our 1 shot to vote yes and forge our future. Vote yes.....The Job you save may be your own. Trust our union. They are our insurance policy......
  11. Corker and Shelby request a no vote. A no vote will support Shelby and Corkers direction. A no vote divides our Union. A no vote gets us 1 step closer to Bankruptcy A no vote gets us fighting against our UAW leadership and crushes our solidarity A no vote gets us further divided A no vote get us 1 step closer to Shelby and Corker getting their way. Shelby and Corker will beat down the UAW with a no vote. Those Bastards will get their way if we vote no. Right now we are making modifications on our own terms. If we vote it down Corker and Shelby will be making modifications for us on their terms (they cant wait). Vote yes...... The job and health care you save may be your own........
  12. What they fail to tell you, No bennies, no job security, no sub, no TAP...etc, etc... Do the math $4.00 wage cut or the current modifications......Same thing. There is more to the story....
  13. Right now the UAW Ford GM and Chrysler are doing everything they can to satisfy the government in showing cost savings. What the UAW has presented us is a concession but this is the best they could do considering these tough times. If we don’t pass this modification the companies will collapse. They will certainly use a structured bankruptcy. What does this mean? We are at the mercy of a bankruptcy judge Retirees will get 30 cents for every dollar owed of their pension. We will lose sub pay We will lose TAP We will lose and have to pay for health care. Pay for full prescriptions Our wages will be cut in half Vacation time gone Personal days gone No grievance procedure No severance No buy outs Plant closings Layoffs Etc Etc Etc Once bankruptcy happens there is no more bargaining, we get what the judge rules. Don’t be a fool Vote yes
  14. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...UTO01/902240382 Detroit News Article gets the story right. The UAW struck a deal with Ford for pattern bargaining. When UAW-Ford sets the pattern we all win. GM, Chrysler and Ford. It would have been a terrible agreement if GM or Chrysler went first. Great srategy for saving jobs and wages and retirees. God Bless the UAW. This reporter usually slams the UAW but this time he gets it right.......
  15. I have a funny feeling the buyouts are coming to an end. If Ford is offering cash plus a car this is probably the end of buyouts. I dont think these will be offered at all locations. May be like a few years ago where they were just offered for the amount of excess at each location.
  16. This is exactly what I am talking about (article below). These poor souls were misled by a core group of members that put out bad information that the agreement cut too much and they didnt listen to the UAW. They voted down the agreeement by 70% and management is in the process of closing the facility. Since this article our brothers and sisters said they would accept the changes and cried for a revote but management declined the offer. We only get one chance to forge our future. ARTICLE Magna International will be closing its gear assembly plant in Syracuse, New York. The Canadian auto parts maker said Wednesday the move comes after workers rejected a contract the company said was necessary to keep the factory running and to keep it competitive. Magna said a total of 1,400 jobs at the New Process Gear facility will be eliminated. It said that it was disappointed that employees had rejected the contract which would have given the facility a future. There is no word on what agreement was rejected. The New Process Gear facility will take some time to shut down as Magna is holding talks with employees, suppliers and its customers. Source: Reuters
  17. I will need to see the real agreement. If retirees are untouched. Everyone from Mulaly down gets their pay cut drastically. And we get more investments in our plants. My base wage is not cut. And my benefits stay where they are right now I will be voting yes Ive said it before do it now there is no second chance..... Thje next step will be a bankruptcy judge making us work for $12 dollars per hour. Sorry, I 'm not willing to take that chance My job is precious to me.
  18. Fox news is our direct enemy. If we need info go to uaw.org where it has been all morning.
  19. Good job Charly, Again we bash the very institution that protects us........ Unbelievable!
  20. I have said too much already. Too many eyes here.
  21. Remember American Axle. Times are different son. We will be lucky to make a profit by 2011. Go talk to your nieghbors that work for GM and Chrysler. I would bet the contract changes will pass by atleast 90%. They know the score They/We go into bankruptcy these jobs aint comin back. If they dont touch my base rate I will be better off when we start banging out vehicles again. If the paper is correct and they take the perf bonus and Christmas bonus I will make it up on overtime. We are only a few months behind them. Go talk to your nieghbors that have lost their jobs. Do you think they will have sympathy for us while we are working. Then we vote down a agreement. He will never buy a domestic again. Respectfully, Skilled1
  22. Most Skilled Trades make that much and more depending on the plant and area. That job is 24/7 and then some. I don't think he is there for the money. He could have stayed Chairman in Kentucky and made that.......
  23. WW, You may be too young to remember 79 and 80 concessions. Chrysler was going down for the count and all three had given concessions. Pattern bargaining works both ways. In good times the UAW benefits from getting the best agreement and in bad times the UAW can’t give one company a monetary advantage over the other. Ford is only 6 months behind the other 2 companies as far as cash. Ford is only playing the "were fine card" which in reality it’s a pretty good strategy. Like I said and some analyst will agree Ford will need a loan shortly. The union is forced to follow pattern. Which sadly includes us. Like I have said before I don't understand why we bash the very institution that protects us. See Furious post above.
