  1. thank you for your reply--this idiot is comparing apple to oranges--he must be a company man!!!! his analogy is just as dumb as people voting yes!!!!!
  2. this is why im voting nooooo
  3. i agree--could u post the job numbers lost on another post ,,so these idiots know promising of jobs is a joke
  4. your another dass that is for the company,,,you cannot read between the lines or even to see the facts
  5. only if they want too...im voting no
  6. I’m a firm believer in the UAW and what it stands for!! I’m also a firm believer that the contract the UAW has agreed on is a joke. Job security is based on the market and the economy. The job security commitment is just that. The 5,700 plus new jobs are mainly to retain UAW jobs. 1st example –when Minnesota closes and other plants close (stamping, engine, .etc. that is not in the brief outline that you will get) these people can only transfer if there is an opening at another facility. Will there be any because of the 2-tier wage workers hired which will start to happen left and right. Also those who have been at Ford longer than five years know that if the UAW and Ford say they created thousands of jobs, this is hardly true. I’ve been at Ford for 19yrs and have heard this same song and dance. Ford and the UAW promise us tens of thousands of jobs and Ford always used there many loopholes not to hire or create jobs. Then we here so many excuses from UAW why the job commitments didn’t happen. Are you going to fall for this again? Job security hmmm we all know it takes Ford at least 3yrs to make a product or a decision where its going to be built. So ask yourself why and how they can make a decision on job security within months after the contract would be voted yes on. Is it because they already made their decision prior to the contract talks? For the most part why is there only 6.3 billion out of 16.3 billion going to be invested in the U.S. ford is not going to honor the job commitments like in the past. Like in the past, the UAW is going to do nothing about it! To the idiots that will respond I’m voting yes because I want to help the company and thank god that you have a job, here is what I have too say; ford hardly honors the contract between Ford and the UAW. Fact there are tens of thousands of grievances against Ford not even including the master grievance…grievances mean Ford has violated the contract. To the idiots who are crying about jobs do you really believe Ford will honor the contract. The bonuses are a smack in the face!!!! We the union gave up over $30,000+ in concessions to help the company. The UAW convinced us to do so!! The company decisions got Ford in trouble and we had to pay for it. The Ford and UAW said it saved the company $500 to $600 million a year. Hmmm the bonuses that the glass house and the stupidvisors got were around $500 to $600 million. We deserve more money, if Alan Mulally got over $98 million in bonuses and stock options we should get some of our concessions back. A $6,ooo signing bonus is a disgrace The ironic thing is the new jobs that were created,(lol)- take the number that they say and cut it down more than half after the jobs have been retained!! The 2-tier workers before they got a job at Ford said that we were a bunch of whiners and they would work for 12 to 14 dollars an hour and be thankful-then they cried. I only make half of your wages and do the same job and now we vote on giving them a raise!!!! When the retirees are replaced by new hires, the same hypocrites that said we were overpaid and lazy are going to apply at Ford. We are going to vote yes for them and now we are going to vote yes and get nothing for ourselves. Way to go UAW. I’m a firm believer that the UAW is like the government they don’t listen to the people.
  7. 'I see why your going to vote yes because you missed the whole point company man. I'll help you out dummy,,,my point was that ford does not honor job security and the uaw lets them get away with it! There are to many loopholes between ford and the uaw commitments,,,especially on job security! now did you get it -company man!!!!! also--nafta,and wall street destroyed the economy!!!! do us all a favor -quit your job and go work for toyota!!!
  8. people like you make me sick! job security! Job security is based on the market and the economy! Ford elimates hundreds of jobs every year at every plant! Ford tries to reduce 10% of the uaw jobs every year,,,so where is your job security! --since 1994 ford owes the uaw thousands of jobs!!!These jobs were promised in the contracts in the past but never fullfilled,, so where is your job security! Ford also stop hiring 1 uaw worker for every 2 uaw retires until the 2 tier wage came out,,so a agreement with ford about job security is a joke!!!!!! The ironic thing is the 2 tier wage people want us to vote for them to get a raise while in the meantime they complain that they do the same amount of work for half the pay..also The hypocrites who call the uaw people lazy and over-paid want us to vote for your job security-so they can get a job! so- do us a favor -take your company vote and stick it where the sun dont shine!!!!! Remember this company man--there is thousands of grievances thru the system between ford and the uaw....ask yourself why...hhhhmmmm-is it because the company doesnt honor the contract with ford.--

  11. The only one that should apologize is you for your rude and abusive comments. FACT: It was announced at the State of the Plant Meeting, that all of the new Production Jobs would be filled by newly hired long term temporary employees at a much lower wage. FACT: It was also stated that this Employment Agreement was reached with special approval by the International UAW. FACT: Any census taken on the floor of both Skilled Trades and Production Employees will support the truth in what I have posted. In the very near future a great many of our Indianapolis Union Brothers and Sisters will be without work not counting the approximately 200 other UAW Members out of work. How do you think the Indianapolis Local 1111 found out about what is taking place at the Lima Engine Plant? If by chance the Correct Procedure is followed in the end, it is possible information shared on this Site played a small role in correcting this approach for filling jobs being created due to the addition of a C Crew. By the way “abusive one”, wasn’t it a beautiful site to behold at the State of the Plant Meeting, the Plant Manager putting his arm around the Local 1219 Chairman, maybe he should have kissed him also? Trying to make sure the correct process is followed is never considered a “Rant” where I come from!!!
  12. EMERGENCY ACTION REQUIRED The Ford Lima Engine Plant has already made contact with the Temporary Employees who worked at the Facility a few years ago. Approximately 50 past Temporary Employees will be starting work immediately. On the same front a great many people are being tested for the New Long Term Temporary Jobs. It appears the special lottery for the new job openings has taken place. At what other Facility have these hundreds of Job opportunities been Posted?? The great travesty in this affair is that our laid off UAW Brothers and Sister have not been afforded the same courtesy of being contacted about employment opportunities at the Lima Engine Plant. This move to put on the fast track the hiring of hundreds of New Temporary Employees was not accidental. Permission to add this many new employees to the payroll requires approval from the Ford Glass House with full knowledge by the International UAW. This is a very time consuming process. President/Chairperson Dan Huddleston from the Indianapolis UAW Local 1111 put forth an Official Notice dated October 21, 2010 to his Membership informing them: "Through much discussion we have received the latest information about the possibility of permanent job openings at Lima Engine." Another Major Issue of Concern: There already exist established procedures and processes for just such instances when Employment Opportunities arise. There are correct procedures to follow and should be done in a timely manner. There was foreknowledge of the need for additional Engines due to the launch of the New Explorer that will use the Engine produced at the Lima Facility. There is no excuse for this type of situation to arise. Action must be taken immediately to stop what is taking place now. Aggressively spread the word about what is actually taking place. This site can again serve it purpose of informing fellow UAW Members of various situations taking place throughout our Company. Everyone needs to contact UAW Members everywhere and urge them to Pressure their Chairpersons, Presidents, Regional Representatives but most of all the International UAW. The International UAW must step up and Correct this Troublesome Process that is moving at such a fast pace there will be No Open Slots for our Laid Off Brothers and Sisters or those Members who are about to loose their jobs. Major point in Question: Let us assume for a moment that all of the openings at the Lima Engine Plant have been filled with newly hired Long Term Temporary Employees. Will those Full Time Permanent UAW Employees that become Laid Off after the hiring of these Temporary Employees have the Right to Transfer to Lima Engine and Displace the newly hired Temporary Employees? I wish to thank the Employee who helped set the record straight about the truth of what was stated at the State of the Plant Meeting. When Employees saw a copy of the Notice the Chairperson of Local 1111 distributed, they were concerned because it was not supporting the information that was dispersed at the Meeting by Local 1219 Chairperson and the Lima Engine Manager. IT IS A JUST AND WORTHY CAUSE TO BECOME ENGAGED IN AN ENDEAVOR TO HELP OUR LAID OFF UAW MEMBERS IN THEIR TIME OF NEED!!!
  13. The UAW and the Lima Engine Plant Manager announced the need for approximately 250 Production Jobs to meet the upcoming demand for the Engines built at the Facility. The new jobs are classified as Long Term Temporary Jobs up to 18 months. The startling fact was that none of the 250 New Jobs will be offered to any of the Laid Off UAW Employees or those Employees who are about to be Laid Off. It was announced that this had the Support of the International UAW. What happened to the Rights of Laid Off UAW Members?? Not long ago the Sandusky Facility opened up their Temporary Jobs to Laid off Lima Engine Plant UAW Members. Is this the final direction of the International UAW !!! Are all Laid Off UAW Workers from now on going to be denied Job Opportunities that was once treated as a Contractual Right. Let the Laid Off UAW Members choose if they wish to accept Employement even if it is Classified as a Long Term Temporary Job. How could the International UAW think this is an acceptable process. By the way their wages will be substantially lower. I still believe in the UAW and the power of the Membership. Please pass this along to all the UAW Members and urge them to contact all UAW Representatives and express their OUTRAGE over this new process of not offering New Job Opportunities to our Laid Off Brothers and Sisters. I still want to believe that this is a Membership Driven Union that sometimes looses sight of the way, and needs to be Reminded of their Duties and Responsibilities towards their Dues Paying Members. Remember your job could be next on the chopping block and where could you Transfer, since the International Supports this approach to any New Job Opportunities.
  14. Just a quick note to thank the Blue Oval News Staff for Locking Out a Topic. It would be nice to read various topics without all the vulgarity. It is possible to get your point across without resorting to vulgarity. I enjoy reading various topics especially the ones dealing with the workers trying to assist Customers with their vehicle assembly information. Those efforts to supply the Customer with as much information as possible about where their newly ordered Truck is at in the process, truly reflects the caring and conscientious work force that I have had the privilege to work along side of for many years. Thank you for monitoring and doing what is in the best interests of all.
  15. Looking for some assistance to get the following Resolution submitted for the Constitutional Convention so at least the Delegates can toss it around and see if this direction is the way they would like to see OUR UNION operate by: RESOLUTION ON ARTICLE 19 SECTION 4 Whereas: Article 19 Section 4 provides for ratification of all national agreements and supplements thereof; Whereas: Modern Operating Agreements that permit changes to the Contract without the consent and ratification of the membership violates the letter, spirit, and intent of Article 19 Section 4; Whereas: Altering the Contract without the consent of the governed betrays trust and thereby undermines Solidarity; Whereas: Superseding the authority of the membership is inherently antidemocratic; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The International UAW must obtain approval of the UAW membership by vote before they can open the Contract for any changes. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the International UAW abides by the letter, spirit, and intent of Article 19 Section 4; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Constitutional Committee presents this proposal to the assembly of delegates at the 33rd Constitutional Convention for their consideration and debate. Submitted by UAW Local ____________ Read at the Membership Meeting Recording Secretary Adopted: Yes ____ No _____ __________________________________
  16. I appreciate the clarification regarding the correct forum to present this Issue. Noticing another comment on this Issue, " why must someone read more into this, than what the Resolution Language states". It is only the Right and Ethical thing to do.
  17. NEED A LITTLE HELP TO AT LEAST HAVE THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION SUGGESTION PRESENTED AT THE 2010 CONVENTION . [/b 2010 CONVENTION RESOLUTION WHEREAS: There is a Transfer Leveling Seniority Date of 10/29/1984 imposed on employees with seniority greater than that when transferring to a New Facility. WHEREAS: There has never been another Transfer Leveling Seniority Date imposed on any other age group or seniority group of employees in any future Contract Negotiations. WHEREAS: The 10/29/1984 Transfer Leveling Seniority Date targets a specific age and seniority group of employees. WHEREAS: The Transfer Leveling Seniority Date affects the Terms and Conditions of Employment. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The elimination of the Transfer Leveling Seniority Date of 10/29/1984 thus allowing employees to use their Company Seniority for Shift Preference and any Future Bidding for jobs.
  18. bernie rick is not a great union man-he's a liar and backstabber. bernie only helps his friends.
  19. what you need to know is, no product is guarented! why dont you read the fine print and listen between the lines, job products are commitments and not agreements. example we sold 300,000 f150's this year and not 300,001, so therefore we cannot commit to a new product in the u.s. there are so many loop holes in the product commitments with the ford and the uaw its ridiculous, if you go back to the 94 contract to present ford owes the uaw about 20,000 or more jobs on commitments. how many did we really get, none. so when you start crying about jobs, plant idled or product guarentees. there are none. the brothers and sisters sent a messege to ford and international, no more commiments, we want agreements. heres a thought, when ford agreed to the 2007 contract, do you get it ford agreed to the contract.
  20. 2007 there was supposed to be, 600 million in the strike fund and then the convention delegates voted to take 50 million out to campaign for the uaw to reuit.
