  1. I really, really doubt they kill the Ranger name. Mulally HATES killing long-lasting names.
  2. Maybe it could be for a High HP version with a 5.0 EB or SC. :shades:
  3. There wouldnt be enough sales to justify the money to develop it.
  4. Found it on Youtube: Its about 55 seconds in. its a clay model.
  5. I believe it was Wescoent who said that it could be on again in case Cali and other states want their own Cafe rules which could limit the number of F-150s sold so ford might need it to lift the sales up.
  6. The Ka isnt $4k. Ford needs a Model T for the emerging markets for there is a big future in those.
  7. The model T's need some work but Ford does badly need a Nano fighter.
  8. The over all profile is like it but there are big side vents which are not on the concept.
  9. Ford hasn’t said officially what, if anything, will replace the U.S.-built Ford Ranger when production ends in 2011 but recent spy photos captured half a world apart point to a brand new, globally produced small pickup taking its place by 2012. The engineering mules seen in these pictures might look like facelifted, double-cab versions of the Mazda BT-50 that’s sold outside the U.S. and shares a common platform with the Thai-built overseas Ford Ranger, but sources say their duct tape and cobbled bodies hide the mechanicals and running gear of Ford’s next-generation global small truck. That new pickup will likely mean all Ford Ranger models would be built on a single global platform, codenamed "T6" that's being designed in Australia. The current overseas Ford Ranger shares only its name with the Ranger built for North America. The move is expected to mirror Ford’s recent product strategy to cut development costs by designing new vehicles on a single global platform, like the new Ford Fiesta compact car that recently went on sale in Europe and is promised for the U.S. next year. 10. I have no problem with a 280 hp 2.0 or 2.5 EB in the F-150.
  11. There were 3 Verve concepts. One with 3 door (EU) one with sedan (shown in China) One with sedan with chrome front end (shown in Detroit).
  12. Yup i have! they are amazing!...for they brake all the time.
  13. Ford may be planning to sell its Ka city car in the United States in the not-too-distant future, but the Fiesta will be coming here within the next few month. The hatchback version is set to be the first model to hit U.S. soil, but a sedan model will not be far behind. Our spy photographers caught up with the latter earlier today, just outside of Ford’s global headquarters. Motivation for the Fiesta will be supplied by a 1.6L, featuring variable valve timing. No output ratings have been released as of yet, but the Fiesta is expected to deliver peppy performance and fuel economy near the 40 mpg mark. 14. Ford’s popular Edge crossover is due for its first major refresh and we have the spy photos to prove it. The heavily revised Edge should surface sometime in 2010 as a 2011 model. The Edge’s platform mate — the Lincoln MKX — is also expected to see similar changes for the 2011 model year. It’s seems like the Edge may be getting a tougher look for ‘11 model year. Underneath the camouflage, we can see two bars running across the grill that look more truck-like than the current model. There might be a third bar buried under there as well. New projector headlights and a lower fascia that resembles the 2010 Fusion Sport are also visible. More here: http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-edge-2011.html
  15. Electric cars may be all the rage these days but making the technology cheap enough for mass-market will take some time. One of the leaders in this field is Ford, which is expected to have one of the first mass-produced all-electric cars on the market with its battery-powered Focus. Arriving in 2011, the electric Focus is expected to be powered by a lithium-ion battery pack with a range of close to 100 miles. It won’t be cheap, however, as pricing will be set higher than a comparable petrol model, Ford’s president of the Americas, Mark Fields, revealed to Automotive News. This will "limit its appeal at least initially" but engineers are working to make the car "as affordable" as possible, he said. Despite the high price tag the electric Focus is destined to bear, as well as the limited infrastructure for recharging, Ford hopes to entice around 5,000 to 10,000 customers a year. This figure is expected to rise as battery technology improves and production becomes cheaper, but for the first few years Ford will be chasing those numbers. 16. Once the economy gets back up, Flatrock will probably be running at full force. Now the fiesta plant in Mexico is being designed for yearly production of 500,000 units a year. Now that sounds like alot, but it isnt. Why? It has to service both Americas, the Brazian Fiesta is stopping prodcution ( i guess the next ecoSport will have American suited and built there so they will have enough production).
  17. Yes!!!!...but with one minor change...call it fairlane. Torino belongs a full size muscle car.
  18. Well ford of EU is designing the Mercury compact but iv heard nothing about them using that Concept or any design theyre are using.
  19. The reliability of the two were downright bad. And i dont like the rendering of it neither, doesnt do anything for me. If Ford were to do a boxy compact vehicle, they should do it off the SYNus concept and ill be all for it.
