  1. Did you two have a lover's quarrel at NAP? The way you snipe at each other, I'd swear you're an old married couple!
  2. Honey hole? LOL, not sure how to take that one...I'm still on the line, so it can be shitty at times, but it's a job I can handle. All I've ever asked of Ford, is a job that I can handle, be more or less comfortable with, and therefore be a productive member of the team. I had that for 11 years at MTP, but when I came to DTP, it was different. You know..But now, it's better. BTW, stop calling me Hellcat. I have a fucking name!
  3. Good to know. You always seem to be in a good mood whenever I see you, you must enjoy your job. I'm happy that I will be staying on mine as well.
  4. So, does your '94 seniority keep you in your current job, or is it back to the line for you?
  5. November '96, huh? Cool beans, I'm in the clear.
  6. Not arguing with you at all..Maybe things have changed since Nick took over, I certainly hope they have..All I'm trying to do is give newcomers to DTP a realistic expectation of what they are in for. I'm not some 20 year guy, I work the line, that's all I've ever done, and even so, coming to DTP was like night and day from where I came from (MTP). I expect others will have the same reaction.
  7. Anybody coming to DTP....Prepare yourself for what you are in for. You may think "Hey, I have (insert <15 yr seniority date here), I'll get a great job, DTP is a paradise" Think again. You'll be put wherever they need a body. The job you'll get will most likely be worse than what you're used to. You'll feel like a new hire, all over again. Sure, you can bid on jobs, at least the ones that weren't filled before you got there, but DTP has this cute little system in place for that. There's ONE GUY who is in charge of placing people, or not, on for bid jobs. Your seniority doesn't count here like you're used to, DTP uses "merit" more than seniority. "Merit" can mean many things, in fact, nobody is quite sure WHAT it means, but that's the major factor considered for bid jobs. If you've spent alot of years in a plant and gotten used to things there, you'll be in for quite a shock, and not a pleasant one, once you get to DTP.
  8. I just saw a 2010 F150 Raptor sell for $130,0000 and '09 Mustang Cobra Jet go for $375,000...everything above $40k on the Raptor, and above $69k on the Cobra Jet, went to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation..Nice move by Ford on that.
  9. Kinda hard to get all giddy about the success of a Ford Mexican import, which probably means even MORE U.S. Ford jobs will go down there, while plants like Wixom sit idled. I don't care if that car gets 100 mpg..I still wouldn't buy one.
  10. I still consider the Hecho en Mexico Fusion to be an import.
  11. Buyouts or buydowns, one or both are probably on the way.
  12. To keep everyone's head spinning trying to figure out WTF is ACTUALLY going to happen at DTP. They tell us the week of Jan. 5th is a down week, then say no. They tell us C crew starts in January, then push it back. They tell us to expect a 10 JPH line speed reduction, even go so far as to say how many people per shift would be impacted, then cancel it. They schedule us for 10 hours, and work us 8. DTP is a strange place.
  13. If you don't have kids, and if your spouse doesn't work weekends, and you don't mind having your Sunday schedule jacked around every time there is a holiday or some stupid ass football game, and you don't mind having your sub pay fucked up after a down week, and if you don't mind having to sleep away part of your weekend (Tuesday)..sure, C crew is peachy.
  14. 4 10's is wonderful..IF you're on days. If not, it sucks. C crew in particular, I firmly believe, was the spawn of a tryst between Bill Ford and Satan.
  15. I know. You might recall me as Chad, ME, Ranger 4.0....I changed them alot. I used to be here alot more than I am now. I know the site crashed a couple years ago, and for the life of me, I can't recall what my ORIGINAL login was. I liked his site alot more when the IPIE threads were here, and the CVN kiddies were bickering..Sheriff and his pals. It isn't the same now.
  16. I don't see myself on that list. I've been here, under various names, since '99. Pioneer has been here awhile too.
  17. My wife is a Union nurse. She has nothing but positive things to say about the UAW. Her dad is a GM retiree, and, obviously, the guy who makes her happy at night (and sometimes in the afternoon) happens to be a UAW member
  18. I heard the exact opposite..."Nobody working more than 40 hours after the 1st of the year"...Bigcountry, do I really need to loan you my bluegrass CD's? They ae much nicer to listen to than rumors. Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year pal.
  19. LOL, people are different down there, no doubt about that.
  20. I appreciate that. She may have been my GREAT grandma, but I we visited down there alot when I was younger, and I have alot of fond memories. I actually vividly remember my great GREAT grandma too. We have a 5 generation picture that ran in the newspaper down there (New Metamoras Ohio, right on the Ohio river) in the early 80's. I tell you what, the country down there is pretty, what with all the hills, but I sure hope I don't get caught in a snowstorm like last time. Trying to descend a 10% grade without sliding off the road and off into a 4-500 foot drop, isn't good for your blood pressure.
  21. I can't seem to find my DTP employee handbook, so I'm hoping somebody here has theirs handy...Does the bereavement policy cover GREAT grandparents? This probably isn't an issue for most folks but mine lived to almost 100, so it is for me.
  22. So it looks like we'll all soon be working the same hours, doing the same work, for less money to appease a few republicans. Who thinks we will just get our wages cut, la de da, if you don't like it go fuck yourself, and who thinks our union will negotiate some sort of buydown?
  23. We'll see how many regret not taking the buyout after our union agress that we should work for 15 bucks an hour and the government forces us to build electric golf carts. I'm afraid that is what is in store for us.
  24. Good. Ford needs to tell Congress to go fuck themselves....We don't need some toady appointed by Bush ordering the Ford family around.
