Now the plan is cameras and video screens. This way they can have ALL NON ESSENTIAL employees work from home but still be able to reprimand us for cycle time.
We will have to burn thru our personal/vac time if we get sick. If you’re out of that you will be awol then have to hope ford agrees to cover you. The health and welfare of the membership doesn’t even register on their radar. If we all have a 102 fever then 102 is the new normal therefore we must all be healthy right?
Everyone should start in assembly. Then everything else should be a bid. I was low seniority for 10 years. There are people who were low for longer. Its life in the UAW.
It would benefit you in the long run. My seniority probably wouldn't get it at this point either but when higher seniority can move up and out we all move up even a little bit.
Those of you at assembly plants, What departments are you allowed to sign for(body, paint, stamping,) here at MAP if you are in assembly you can only go to paint, body and stamping are off limits.
Thank you trailfndr! That was the type of reply and info I was looking for. I'm not sure my 17 yrs will be enough but a lot of talk of one shift here at MAP.
Let's hope enough decide to retire. I dont want to go to another plant if I don't have to. I would, however be more than happy to sit my ass at home for a few months.Lol!!
I feel the same way fuzzy. That's what my committee man told me. Ford wants to keep production low so as not to compete with the F150. Sounds to me like its posturing on fords part to get us to give up the farm. I have no desire to go to a yet another plant. Union is trying to negotiate alternating down weeks like they did for initial f150 launch. Hope this to be the case.
So the latest is that when we launch the ranger they will drop a shift. 1997 or better to hold the plant. When bronco is launched b crew will be restarted. Low production of Ranger won't support 2 shifts.
