  1. Now that I'm at work and getting paid to search Google, I still can't find anything other than one obscure article on lumens and wattage, but I don't think it relates, so I'm going with your explanation, rear daytime running lights, cheers.
  2. I'm still trying to find what the difference is between level 1 and level 3 LED tail lights.
  3. You're not missing anything, that's why I built and bought an SE. I'm in no hurry anymore and I wanted the 1.5L for better economy and start/stop. An SE, 202A luxury, driver assist, technology and moonroof, MSRP is $3960 less than the Titanium. Yes, you get a few more standard features with the Titanium, but they're things I can do without. I believe the bolsters on the sport seats narrow them a little as well.
  4. The recommended torque is 25-32 ft lbs on a cold engine. I think most people just snug them up. I have a Craftsman Microtork that works pretty good, but take into consideration any formulas that change the setting if you use extensions.
  5. That's a good price. IIRC my C-Max cost was about $245. In Minnesota the laws changed several years ago because cops said there was a risk when they couldn't see in the vehicle. MN law states for passenger cars 50% maximum all the way around, 35% front and any darkness back for SUV and vans. That's why with my new Fusion, I am going to wait until I move to AZ to have my windows tinted and do 20% rear and 35% fronts. My only concern with 20% on the rear window is the self dimming mirror, but it might no be needed with that dark a tint.
  6. There's a white Model X that must live near me, I've seen it three times. What I can't get used to is the front end, kind of oddly shaped. I'm not sure I care for the design, but they didn't ask me.
  7. I read the article. I was trying to make a funny, another one of my many character flaws. All manufacturers purchase new designs of competitors models to poach ideas.
  8. I wonder if there was a bidding war and Ford won (?) or if it was like Ebay, Buy it Now $199,950.00.
  9. I rarely watch SNL anymore because, well, it's not funny, but I watched last Saturday and that skit was funny. I especially liked when it was pooping out the old batteries.
  10. One of my many character flaws.
  11. Wondering if anyone out there will know when the OK TO BUY order will be approved and if they can post it here. I'm antsy as hell and any news makes me feel so good.
  12. Do you have any scheduling info, VIN or schedule?
  13. Just communicated with him last Friday and my car is still Unscheduled - Clean. As discussed in another topic, retail orders most likely won't begin for 2-4 weeks. One step forward is the 2017 has been moved from future vehicles to the Ford web site and the Sport is included on the build and price page.
  14. The 2017 build and price has been updated from future vehicles and is now available on the Ford web site. Current incentives listed on the Ford web site include: $250 Retail Bonus Customer Cash + $250 Retail Customer Cash, or $250 Retail Bonus Customer Cash + APR financing from 0.0% APR / 36 mo to 3.9% APR / 72 mo From what I understand, it appears current incentives add up to $500, or $250 plus financing.
  15. I was looking at the 2017 Build and Price page for my zip code and it looks like there's a $250 RCL Customer Cash incentive valid 4/5/16-7/5/16. Blah, blah, blah dealer stock, yadda, yadda, yadda, not all models qualify, blah, blah, blah, see dealer for restrictions...
  16. It will "satisfy a big chunk" of a very small part of the population. Maybe this is Ford's way to satisfy the critics until real advances are rolled out, because 76 to 100 mile range is the addition of a couple of cells, not a real advance.
  17. I was watching The First 48 and Tulsa, OK detectives drive 2016 Fusions with low profile light bars and strobes in the fog lights.
  18. It's been 6 weeks, so hopefully any day retail orders should begin. I guess it's a good thing retail orders have to wait, any undetected issues will most likely show up in dealer stock and not a later built retail order. EDIT: I just realized it's been 6 weeks since my order was submitted, but only two weeks since production started. I'll go sit down and wait my turn. My order number is 9006, does that mean mine was the 9006th retail order, total orders submitted, or does that number have nothing to do with order sequence? I was told I have a priority 10, so hopefully it will be soon. My dealer has four dealer ordered on their web site, so I'm assuming they have allocation and hopefully mine is included in that initial allocation. The dealership I work with is a smaller family owned operation in business since 1949, they rarely advertise on TV and relies on customer loyalty, a great service department, State and local business contracts (a lot of branded vehicles in their lot) and word of mouth. Another much larger dealership, that advertises much more has a much bigger volume has 10 dealer ordered 2017's on their web site. Just spit ballin' here, but maybe my dealer, about half the size of the other, has an allocation of 5, four on the web and mine is the fifth.
  19. I talked with my salesman and he told me my car is still Unscheduled - Clean. Can anyone give some insight on production, priorities and distribution. I checked some of the larger Ford dealership web sites in my area and four of the six have 2017 Fusions listed as dealer ordered. All have VIN's assigned and according to http://www.etis.ford.com/home.do only two of the 25-30 ordered cars have been built. The un-built cars list the model as a Transit Connect, with a build date of 30.11.0002. I know ETIS is a European site, but I believe the build dates and list of features are accurate. This isn't my first new car order, so I know it takes time. I was just hoping that after six weeks I would see some movement towards a build date. My questions are: - Are order numbers sequential and what are the last 6 numbers of the VIN, the order number, the factory sequence number, or something else? - Regardless of priority number and order number, are dealer orders filled first, even if an order from a dealer came in after a retail order? - Are all dealer orders from across the country filled before any retail orders, regardless of where the retail order originates from? - Are cars built by region, parked at the factory in the same lot area, then shipped out by region, or is it completely random and chaotic? - Do higher volume dealerships get orders filled first, or do regions of the country get priority over another, such as West Coast/East Coast over Upper Midwest? - Finally, why the hell is my car still unscheduled?!! (This one can't be answered, it's my equivalent to screaming out the window) Thanks
  20. I was searching a local Ford dealer web site and they had 4 '17 Fusions listed. One had a build date of 07.04.16. and it does not show up on the cotus.ford search. I guess this is not a very accurate method to check your order status.
  21. The dealer web sites around here are now listing 2017's. My dealership has 4 listed, one has a valid VIN that ETIS shows the build date of 07.04.16 and the list of minor features. Another has the sticker with options and MSRP, but is not listed on ETIS and the other two show a generic Fusion window sticker with standard features only and Vehicle Not For Sale across the sticker image. I'm hopeful that my VIN will be assigned this week or next.
  22. Do you mean it does not give you any response, or does it display: No matching vehicle found. Please verify your input and try again. This is just a guess, but my theory is, until your car has been scheduled, cotus doesn't track it. I've requested tracking here a couple of times and both came back: In Order Processing - Unscheduled - Clean I assume this means the order has been submitted by my dealership, it's in the system and waiting to be scheduled. When I use the cotus.ford link, I currently get the message above. If order numbers are in numeric order, I'm 9006 in line. I figure mine will be scheduled in the last two weeks of April or the first two weeks of May. Have patience, the process takes time. Read the rules required to post a tracking request and request tracking through the forum.
  23. In the last 20 I haven't been driving under the same "circumstances" that I was 40 years ago, if you get my drift. Or if the smoke is drifting your way, or if the empty can is rolling towards you...
  24. I remember back in the day, oh say, 40 years ago or so, you could always tell when a cop car was behind you or coming towards you because of the headlights and parking lights on the LTD.
