  1. Will RTW have an effect on the big UAW drunkfest in Vegas ?
  2. A dedicated team of morons working around the clock every day couldn't monkey-fuck this any worse than it is. Speaking as a Sandusky refugee, I've never seen such ineptitude or corruption from the company/union (same thing). Such as : 1. Overlapping postings. You might sign and be selected for the first one that comes up, Next couple postings (which you can't sign) come and go. They cancel your transfer, or leave you in limbo, not telling you anything indefinitely, while opportunities are kept from you. 2. Skipping hierarchy step # 7 entirely. Instead of giving tradesmen production opportunities in zone, postings for the same production spots (which aren't filled) just get re-posted every couple months for production only. 3. Ignoring the 1 for 1 replacement of retiring tradesmen. People retire, jobs are posted in zone, but no results, no placements, nada. 4. Re-posting and re-shuffling the transfers. Example: Lady signs a posting. They wanted 20 people. She is 1 of only 3 to sign. She should obviously have gotten it. No results put out. Weeks later, they re-post same jobs, and 20 people with more time sign up and go. This has happened repeatedly, They re-post until they get who they want to transfer. 5. Employees with less time than others being "sneaked" into spots kept from those with more time. Happened at Lima. 6. People have signed and been selected(with transfer date) for Plant A in zone. Before they actually transfer, Plant B in zone posts jobs available. These Plant B jobs are re-offered to those already selected for Plant A. This shafts most of the people who would legitimately sign for Plant B. 7. Remember, these transfers are non grievable, so rigging them is no problem. Unfortunately we could go on and on, but basically what is evident : signing a post to transfer might make you feel good, but......... YOU'LL ONLY TRANSFER WHEN AND WHERE THE COMPANY/UNION WANT YOU TO.
  3. Heard that the Sandusky deal is a huge reeking turd. Combined trades with a big cut in pay. Total union staff of 4 people. " No - Strike " clause ( paying union dues WHY ? ) Can't believe the local can try to sell this straight-faced. PLEASE - PLEASE - someone tell me this is all untrue.
  4. Does it look like the membership is being rairoaded by the (union/company) ? Did the bargaining "team" do what's best for the dues paying members, or for the (international/company) ? Probably gonna be tough to find out what they were promised in exchange for this " deal ".
  5. Does anyone know how flex-n-gate employees are treated elsewhere?
  6. Does anyone know much about Flex-n-gate ?
  7. The timing of the posting deadlines before the " informative " meeting shows a lack of respect towards the membership IMO.
  8. The UAW wants you to vote on a deal they cut with the supposed "new buyer" , and the place isn't sold yet ?
  9. You can thank your bargaining team for busting their asses to make you have to relocate. Too bad they didn't work that hard to make the sale not happen. When questions at the big meeting come, get ready for : " We're working on that "....." That hasn't been decided yet "....."I'll get back to you "....." We'll call good old whats-his-name up north, and announce it at the next meeting" . Lotsa fat hogs gonna get butchered.
  10. Back to the original question : Are the ACH transfers temps or Ford ?
  11. I'm still shocked that any of our " Lifers " signed up. So often the song goes: " why leave when I still have my health? "
  12. Are there still pipefitters on layoff at Cleveland Engine Plant ?
  13. How does forcing through the hierarchy work ? Thanks.
  14. As if ACH or Visteon ever really existed. Shame on the company and union for ever allowing this farce.
  15. Ford just re-sold Saline to Visteon. This reduces your profit-sharing by $2,450.00. Heard it from a cleaner, so it must be true.
  16. Is Sparky's math correct ? Even at 80 hours a week, our CEO made 20 grand per hour ? And the little guy (us) needs to tighten up ?
  17. Just curious - Based on a 40 hour week, what is Alan's hourly pay rate?
  18. Does anyone know if LAP has gotten the desired number of transfers yet?
  19. A good handful of co-workers that signed up for LAP transfer have changed their minds, and don't want to go. What do they need to do to back out of the deal? Thanks.
  20. Does anyone know if the most recent out of zone pipefitter openings have been filled ? At this time, does there appear to be more open slots(pipefitter) coming ? Thanks.
  21. IMO, It's understandable for people who work for a living to be upset when told by a multi-millionaire that they need to tighten up.
