1. NOBODY.....i mean nobody is as anal toward imported stuff as i am!!
I am and have been paying more for products made in canada or the usa, to support our own economy. Screw chinese junk.
We been loosing our jobs for many years now and it's getting pretty bad.
We just have to reverse that trend by bying domestic products whenever possible.
I dont even walk into walmart/princess auto/harbour freight and stores that primarely sell imported garbage which more often then not, is inferior .
I listen to politicians both in canada and the usa about fixing the economy......but none of them ever adresses the only real fix....and that is Getting our jobs back from the east.
Screw the WTO /EU and one world government!
2. Great, i wasn't aware of that.
3. I don't think the Bus stops where YOU live! A-Plan has been negotiated by the UAW and CAW when you where still dragging your diaper around on the floor behind you , just like all the other benefits you enjoy ( not that YOU fought for any of them.....seems to me that YOU just cant get done giving more concessions......why don't you quit ford and open you're own "financial planning business", as you're such a wise adviser.) Blaming our A-Plan as being a reason for you're round of concessions holds no merit whatsoever. Do you actually dream this up by yourself or are friends assisting? What makes you think that we cant pay for a new car in cash and that we "need a plan" to get a new car. Because you do? What makes you think that we don't have 300 acres of land that we grow food on. Can you eat your little ounce of silver or gold? Nobody here cares about your financial "expertise". This post deals about A-Plan and difference in Canada-USA vehicle pricing. I'm done entertaining your unrelated idiotic comments. Quit hijacking this post.
4. I'd love to have a upgraded, with the times ranger....instead i have bought several F150's, which are just a tad larger then i like. To big and to high of a bed. In the end ford got my money. But if the 150 keeps growing, i might look at other brands for something smaller. Give me a updated ranger pickup and i will buy it
5. Only makes sense to a guy behind a desk. Or....squirt fluid at the same time as wipers start. Then there is the curtacy sweep...it often times screwes up my clean windshield after washing it. No.. there is no way to adjust those settings yourself
6. When there is an issue , and MR. service manager does not see a concern as a problem ( to keep warranty costs down ,which benefits the dealer also), and a Ford Rep. ends up being the one that looks at the car and orders this or that to be fixed or done,....That to me is some control. A little late in the game, but never the less...... To alienate people with a legitimate car problems , by not acknowledging the concern in the name of (reduced warranty costs) Ford needs to apply pressure to dealers to treat customers right. It is in everybody's best interest. therefore......Ford needs to work on that!!!!
7. I appreciate you're financial advice...............however, Unbeknown to you........i DO already have a financial adviser. It seems to me that you have the wrong forum in which to preach your financial opinion.
8. How does that pertain to the discussion topic?
9. Back in the 80's or 90's, i remember getting about 2500 to 3500$ off of the vehicle price, depending on the car. They cost on average25- 35k if i'm not mistaking. Wasn't a bad deal. Now with vehicle prices in the 40's and 50's , i still get 3000k off through A-plan. Looks like Ford has quietly reduced our A-plan incentives. Does any other A-planner notice this??? Which brings me to another question.... Been wondering, why are Canadian prices thousands of dollars more then they are in the USA. Build any vehicle online at ford.com and build the exact unit on ford.ca and see the difference. There are no duties and taxes included...just the basic vehicle price. Canadian Dollar is better then US dollar right now. Anybody know why???
10. I feel for you.....only thing worse then having problems with a new vehicle and have them tear it apart, ( which to me just takes the fun right out of having a new car ), is getting the service department to acknowledge a problem. I've had many battles with various ford service managers over the years. Key is, to be determent and to NOT go away. Ford really needs to work on that!!!
11. The one i test drove seemed just fine. I got one on order...sure hope it's not riding like his
12. Awaiting Shipment - Released - Ford Michigan Assembly Plant, MI Jun-01-2011 ETA Jun-11-2011
13. Makes sense.....but another version of a perfect storm is, when potential customers cant get what they want from dealer stock and are not willing to wait for a factory order and simply go buy a similar vehicle of another brand. Some people cant wait for whatever reason, and some aren't willing to wait. Majority of people that are car-shopping couldn't care less as to why dealers don't have stock, as they want to buy a car NOW. They simply go some place that has something they like, ready to go. Not always a Ford dealer either. Then there are impulse buyers......They go for a drive and end up at a Ford dealer lot......well, if there is no or little stock on any given model that appeals to them, quite likely another lost sale, as the impulse buyer is now dead in the water. They too don't give a hoot as to what difficulty Ford might have that prevents them from loading up the dealer lots and/or fill dealer orders....Explorer's are a very good example. Does not matter if it's a supplier issue or a under capacity problem. Ford is in control of it's plants and of it's supply chain, nobody else is.If ford wants to sell, don't make it difficult to buy.!
14. Hate to tell you this, but when i tried to order a EX, i was told it would be about 10-12 weeks. But at least they took you're order! What's the VIN ?
15. Has anybody tracked your VIN yet? http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/forum/80-vehicle-locator-by-ford-employees/
16. Man....that grill is UGLY!
I know some like it, some love it, but many do hate it. I DO!
Exterior looks great, except for the oversized grill. Good thing i will sit inside and not have to look at it.
When people pull there noses up, when looking at the MKX, i will know why!
I ordered a MKX anyways as i tend to replace my vehicles every 3 years or sooner, so, Got the feeling the MKX will go sooner.
But seriously...i do know people that walked away from the MKX, just because of the oversized ugly grill.
Please FO.MO.CO......change the grill.
17. I would put my butt behind the steering wheel of that! I would have more use for that, then any crossover or Suv. In my opinion, the St. Wagon will make a comeback at some time. .As far as the Flex goes.....Not for me, that's for sure. Same with the MKT. Sales figures speak for themselves.

Hey

I appreciate your post.

23. And stap2005 answered it. I have the habit of supplying more information then needed. Sorry about that.
24. AMEN As i said...main reason for STAP going down is the UAW-Ford agreement to keep new models in the USA, which also means....whenever Oakville's models are discontinued, it too would get shut down as ford can not put a new model in there, without breaking the agreement with the UAW under the present agreement. That then just leaves Windsor. I guess the CAW will have to do better for Oakville in the next contract talks, then it did for St. Thomas. Another main reason for the Big 3's over capacity is simple. Both, Canadians and Americans are buying way to many Imports from over sea's. And the Chinese haven't even opened any car dealerships yet, which is going to happen soon. Apparently, people just don't realize that they too will eventually be affected by the domino affect they caused by buying imports.
