  1. Not much support from the looks of the responses from the article
  2. The post has Chucky DNA all over it Where you been Chucky??? Not that we missed you.
  3. Are you drunk? Gary is not someone I would trust to be educated enough to make decisions that would negatively impact 35,000 of us. Everybody knew there was going to be a profit in the 3rd quarter from the "Cash for Clunkers" program. Do you think we are just as naive as you? Follow Gary and it will be tough to get raises and "everything we gave up" when we no longer get products and investments in the plants which equates to NO MORE JOBS. Under Garys plan, its get back to $70 per hour and watch us lose programs again like the Edge, Flex, Fusion and Fiesta and they will start going to Mexico and Canada AGAIN,,, . Gary has no resolution to anything other than no. He is no leader and cant even represent the membership at DTP. If he is your hero, he is all yours....... We dont need him negotiating anything for the other 34,998 of us
  4. Agreed, Also last time I checked from a real news source and not this Socialist Rag (world socialist worker), the credible news sources quoted King as saying "No New Concessions" Last time I checked King negotiated my: $28 per hour Best company health care anywhere Job security we are seeing as agreed in KTP, LAP, CAP, CSP, DTP, MAP, VD, Sterling, Lima and Cleveland Christmas holiday week paid off Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Friday paid off 4 weeks paid vacation 1 week paid personal time Veterans day observance paid Election days off paid 4th of July paid Bereavement paid Jury duty paid Voluntary moving allowance paid Sub benefits SWW benefits TAP pay Profit sharing windfall On could go on but everyone knows we have a great contract and the UAW saved us, GM and Chrysler Follow these "Socialists" and we will be back to $70 per hour and watching our jobs start going to Mexico again. These socialist draw the weak and simpleminded that are easily convinced we are underpaid and just a tick above peasant status I trust this proactive IUAW and trust they will bring us a good tentative agreement just as they had delivered in 2007 Again these socialists bring no resolve to any issue, just finger pointing which the weak fall into like a hippie with a kaleidoscope
  5. Sorry you took it that way. My apologies. I do take time to educate myself on all issues that pertain to me, my coworkers, my location, new products and job security. Not that Im any better than the next guy but a little bit of correct information goes a long way in my well being as well as my family. Sorry norte if you took it the wrong way Sincerely, Lou
  6. Well said Spine Any response that comes from Lquidspine or Redemption is a correct, trustworthy response. They are UAW Reps, Elected and sworn an oath to service the membership, uphold the agreement and the UAW Constitution. Taking advice from any unidentified source would more than likely be a false, untrustworthy response. This applies to internet as a whole. Thanks Spine and Redemption for all you do. I usually keep myself educated through my Committeeman, Chairman and President, and I can say that the both of you have always responded in the proper, professional manner. Thanks again Lou
  7. Trailer Park Eyes---------------- Now that's some funny stuff right there ROTFLMAO She reminds me of an extra in a bad Marylin Manson video
  8. You know, you are probably right norte I think from now on I will get all of my life changing decisions from this forum or the Internet forums in general. Legal advice, hot investment tips, medical advice as well as contract interpretations. Does that make sense to you?? Of course not....... Call your Chairman who addresses these issues daily and can give you information to make a real, educated choice.
  9. Um, your Chairman. You know the person you elected to represent you for issues such as this one. Coming on here for life changing questions is not a good idea
  10. DEFLEPs post is filled with sensationalism and hate. Posted to incite fear and uncertainty which leads members to unnecessary, elevated stress levels If DEFLEP was genuine and concerned, he would have posted information like this (below): Great news! AAI will need the temporary loans back from Saline soon. We were fortunate to get 56 members to sign up for voluntary job offers in Chicago and Kentucky. So with the 56 that signed we have been running about 100 short plant wide. Thankfully AAI can return home 156 volunteers from Saline. Looks like there are 150 left after the 156 action, hopefully the UAW can negotiate something proactive to prevent churn with possible TLOs for the volunteers moving to Chicago and Kentucky We are also hopeful here at AAI that the new agreement gets AAI more product and more investment so we may enjoy the same job security gained at LAP, KTP, KCAP, CAP and DTP from the 2007 agreement. Without investment we are hopeful to go somewhere in zone 1. I will contact my Chairman and make a suggestion to re-post the Chicago and Kentucky opportunities if we are unable to get investment and out of state was a better option. Fortunately the 2002-2005 members would more than likely go to one of the zone 1 locations. See the difference. During these times I would suggest getting information on life changing decisions from your Chairman and not some rumor forum.
  11. Exactly........... These "vote no" on a contract people, on a contract that has not been negotiated shows that the ability to lead people and make rational decisions is beyond their scope of proper decision making and negotiating skills. Follow groups like this and we will all be unemployed sooner or later.
  12. I can do 3 months, then the $200 per week will start to take its toll on my ability to pay my bills. Does anyone know how many days and hours we have to picket per week? I remember American Axle was out for 6 months last year but I dont remember any reports on the strike duty requirements to be eligible for the $200
  13. Maybe you can write to him at the address above and ask him to join the forum.
  14. It is illeagal and against the constitution. A vote cast is a vote counted period. Not voting is a "yes" vote is a lie as long as the day. What scares me is that some people really believe that malarkey
  15. He said no to the 2007 agreement that has given us the benefit of all of this investment in CAP, LAP, KCAP, MAP, DTP, KTP, Vandyke, Lima, Cleveland, DEP, DSP, ISA, Woodhaven Forge etc... With all of this product and job security he votes no. He does not have the ability to look into the future for repercussions of his actions. Following his lead would put all of our jobs in Mexico and Canada.
  16. Didnt he get like 35 people fired for telling them they didnt have to work a mandatory overtime opportunity??? Please. We need leaders to lead us that are educated and will not put our jobs at risk.
  17. I trust there will be a income increase somehow to compliment our income without hurting our ability to stay competitive. King is smart and a strategist. He will not put our jobs jeopardy by pricing us out of investment. I am excited to see King hold the line on concessions and get enough product to save questionable plants like AAI. Our power train plants like Livonia, Romeo, Cleveland, Sharonville, Sterling. Also our stamping locations like Buffalo, Walton Hills and Woodhaven all locations that are in dire need of investment for survival. Over 10,000 members at those locations that need product. Canada is thirsty for product commitments in their contract negotiations next year and Mexico will drop wages down to $1 per hour to grab our work. King needs to keep on the path he has stated in the press and we will all be awash in products, investment and our ultimate goal of job security for 40,000 people
  18. I dont know if there were many changes in Chairmen but Mr. King has said publicly in the paper, on TV and even during radio interviews last week "No Concessions". He has said we have given enough and our wages are at a competitive level to generate more investment. Sounds good to me that the President of our union said NO Concessions as recent as last week.
  19. LOL............... Obviously I didnt look at the date,,, hehehehe, lol,,,,, Good response Actually I was excited to hear of any possibility of problem solving,,,,,,, Guess i will have to wait and see.
  20. Did anyone go to this meeting??? Was there any resolution to keep our labor rates at the current competitive level and not have entry level??? Did any one offer resolution to any perceived problems that the Negotiators may need to know??? Was the meeting all complaining with no resolution??? I am hopeful some formidable resolutions were achieved at this meeting but I'm not holding my breath. These dissident groups can point out every ill in this world but offer no real solutions. I am hopeful to hear just one REAL resolution from this group.
  21. Good point. Now I ask you this............ How do you stop it?? The board approves his pay, not the UAW. I know King slams his compensation every time he get to the podium but how does the UAW stop something they have little control over??? Sure the equity of sacrifice is going to arbitration......... but other than that what is the plan??? What is the resolution that no one can seem to offer??? Are you saying we should get everything back as to raise our labor rates?? Ford still has the highest labor rates of all auto manufacturing now..... To demand we raise our labor rates in relation to Mulallys pay would put a direct feed for Ford to source our product to lower markets, specifically Mexico and Canada in turn we would lose investment, product and jobs. Just like the job losses from 1999 - 2006 when our labor rates were high. Whats your resolution???? Easy to point fingers ,,,,,,,,,,,,, fix it. You identified a problem, what direction do we give our leadership??? Remember 40,000 members are depending on your decision. One wrong move will put 40,000 families in jeopardy.. Your move.... As you can tell I am also frustrated with Mulallys pay as well, You are now a leader, what is your next move???
  22. That's great news !!!!! Our labor rates are now competitive and it just makes sense to flood our locations with products............. Ah yes....... Job security once again
