  1. I own a 2011 F-150, Ecoboost, Lariat. So far I'm very happy with it and like the features in the truck. Does anyone know if there are ever any plans to provide software updates for the in-dash applications? Mine has the trailer app and off-road. The gauge menu allows you to select transmission temperature but the "b" option is blank. Clearly there is room and plans for more. Will there ever be any?
  2. If anyone ever figures out a clever way around this, please post here! This still drives me crazy. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard! Not much different I guess. Nothing like the sound of dry blades scraping sand over my soon-to-be-not-clear windshield!
  3. Actually, I was hoping it was like the courtesy sweep. On the 2011 F-150, that is programmable. You can set it to on or off.
  4. Hi, Is there any way to reprogram the wiper/wash cycle on a Ford vehicle (in my case, a 2011 F-150)? I have never figured out why most car manufacturers insist on doing this! I push the button to wash my windshield. The first thing that happens is the wipers start up and drag dry wipers across the windshield, then the washer fluid starts squirting on the windshield. In the winter, this process results in a lovely scratching/scraping sound as the coarse sand and salt residue is dragged across the dry glass. Why can't they have the washer fluid spray a few times before starting the wipers, or let me shut this off so I can do it manually myself?
  5. As a recent customer who's had to navigate the rebate maze, I'd also vote to eliminate the rebates. While I love the product, and in the end feel I got good value for the money, the haggling over the rebates left a bad taste. In the end, I was left defending a $500 rebate with a dealer with whom I had (and hope still have) a good relationship. On a +$40K cost, we were left haggling over $500, 1% of the deal. The scenario becomes more frustrating when you look at the incentives based on financing. If you look at this months advertised F-150 incentives, you are led to believe that you can get a 2.9% loan for 36 months (assuming good credit and approval) along with a $1000 rebate. However, in the small print, there are many qualifiers, including that you need to talk to your dealer for details, and terms may very by region. In my case, this translated into, "You only get the $1000 if the rate is 5.9% and you agree to keep it for 90 days. If you want the 2.9%, the rebate is only $500." In the end, you will pay the money. I understand this. It's business. But the fact that none of these "rules" are clear or available ends up making it feel like a shell game, and in the end it seems the dealer can shape the rules to the end price needed. Again, I understand the need for a dealership, and Ford, to make a reasonable profit, and I'm sure in a business plan somewhere, the bottom line number is defined. Just don't make it so mysterious, frustrating, and seemingly devious, to get there.
  6. Would appreciate what I hope is my last tracking request. Thanks!
  7. Will, I asked about incentive protections in mid-March when I placed my order and was told there were none. I subsequently saw your posts on this. My truck is going to be delivered shortly. I again asked the dealer about this and gave him the program number. He researched it and is telling me that the program does exist but I would have had to have signed up for it when placing the order. Am I getting the right story? Thanks
  8. There are all sorts of USB port adapters on the market. I'm sure you can find one for your needs, including one that would be compatible with your interior and tastes.
  9. Does it matter what vehicle you need the liners for? I'm looking at liners for my soon-to-arrive F-150. I might be in.
  10. I am one of the lucky ones who just had a truck built, this past weekend, with one of the affected colors (Candy Red) I had a horrible thought on the way to work today that I hope to never have to worry about. What happens down the road if someone with one of these colors has an accident and the production hasn't come back? Do they keep enough in inventory to supply the after-market auto body industry?
  11. Bump... wondering if it was actually built, especially given it's Candy Red. Thanks!
  12. Ordered mine on 3/12. Order was submitted while I was there. Had VIN via tracking forum on 3/18 Window sticker on 3/19 showing build on 3/26
  13. Ordered last week, checking to see if it got into the system ok. Order #: K800 Dealer: F11553 F150, 4x4, SS CRW, 157" wheelbase, EcoBoost Thanks

One (or many) problems... light posts...
  15. I went to a dealer today and asked about the incentive protection. As I expected, they said there was none.
  16. Back to my post... The passage of time was the reason why I was asking if anyone knows if the incentive protection program is still available to dealers? Thanks
  17. Does anyone know if this incentive protection program is still in place for 2011?
  18. Hi, this is new news to me. You can't order a vehicle using X-plan?
  19. Thanks for the informative post. One more question... Is there a plan to recover the 6-7K backlog? Namely, extra shifts? Other plans? Or do they just push everything out? Thanks
  20. In reading the small print conditions on many of the rebates, they always have the qualifier, "when purchased from dealer stock", or words to that effect. But it seems that the rebates are available to those placing custom orders too. Is this a case where the letter of the law is not enforced very often? Is an order also considered "dealer stock"?
  21. The 2011 order guide on page 1 lists "-New optional Spray-In Bed Liner custom accessory". I've done a search on forum topics but I still have a few questions. 1) If this is now a factory option, why does it not show when you try and build a truck on the website, and does anyone have a price? 2) I found many posts discussing Ford factory option versus Line-X, etc. But most are about 2 years old, about the time Ford started offering this as a factory option. Most posts seem to indicate Line-X is better and you are better off having it done post-delivery. Anything changed in the past few years? Pros / Cons? Opinions? Thanks
  22. Can someone comment on the same questions with going from a 3.31 to a 3.55? Will the mileage change be noticable? Other factors to consider? My need is for occasional (6-8 times year), low-mileage towing, otherwise mostly highway driving, and I don't need to beat everyone off the line at the stoplight. So, seems that the 3.31 would meet my needs. But at the same time, I'd rather not be on the lower edge of the range if there is a risk of things being under ratio. How close is the 3.31 to the lower edge of reasonable range, and given my normal use, what are the pros/cons of each? Thanks
  23. Anyone tried one of the aftermarket , wood, dash kits advertised on this site and others? While it's an added expense, it looks like they have replacement parts in a variety of color/wood options for those of us who really dislike the cheap pine look.
