  1. Funny Story, Truck arrive day before yesterday after everyone went home. Salesman did not realize it was there until after noon.
  2. Can I get an update please. Thank you so much.
  3. Plan a trip to Gaspe Park in Canada. Hills up to 21% grade. Was the best test of my 2011 F350 yet.
  4. With my 2011 and the Supplemental heater, I have never ever scraped a window and I have no garage. I live near Boston so I really really recommend it. It puts out about 1200W of heat which is not a lot in 110V ac terms but for a 12 volt system it is ALOT !! I just remote start my vehicle, even this morning when it was 5 degrees, and let it run 15 minutes.
  5. I never had any problems with my 2011 F350 spray in liner from the factory. I had after market ones on previous trucks. I could not tell the difference.
  6. From my 2011 experience, it's more complicated than that. There is software that seems to detect the video signal and turn the monitor on in the mirror. If your software has that disabled, too bad. I replaced the tailgate with a V tailgate for a 5th wheel and put a license plate holder with camera on and made a connector to plug into where the tailgate camera went. The video signal must be strong to work properly.
  7. You can order the schematic from Helm Inc for $82 that will provide some insight on this. Mine will be here in a couple of weeks.
  8. Tracking please. 1FT8W3DT8HEC72060 Thank you so much !
  9. I got my Vin# at 6 weeks from date of order on an F350. They released it to shipping at 12 weeks. Still waiting.
  10. Bump, Hopefully Last Time, Thanks for your work ! Vin = 1FT8W3DT9BEC49779
  11. Bump, Many thanks in advance. Vin = 1FT8W3DT9BEC49779
  12. If you want to read up to date reports from a technical perspective, go to the following web site: http://www.iaea.org/newscenter/news/tsunamiupdate01.html This is the International Atomic Energy Association and their daily logs.
  13. I have both a camera and backup sensors on my current truck. They each have their strengths. The camera will show you things that the sensors will not detect. And I have my camera low enough that I can see under my 5th wheel and see if the tires are OK. But I have had trouble with water getting in the camera and had to replace it. You can replace the tailgate camera with an aftermarket camera. See subject in SuperDuty Forum. The back up sensor will sometimes catch things moving in from the side before you see it on the camera and the sound will give you more time to react.
  14. I ordered a new F350 which is made in Kentucky and the spray in liner is part of my order. My 2005 F350 came with out a factory liner and I had one put in by Rhino. Then I put in a truck box in the front of the 8 foot bed. And I installed a Reese 5th wheel hitch. Now contrary to what hitch installers would tell you. Ford had 4 bed bolts in the 8 ft F350 2005 bed at exactly the correct spacing for the 5th wheel rails if you used a single large bolt on each end of each rail. Just remove the factory bolts. Go under the truck and remove the nut plates. No drilling required. Then the rails where on top of the Rhino liner. Now 5 years later I removed the truck box. (waiting on 2011 truck) The Rhino liner behind the truck box is shiny and everywhere else is dull.
  15. When I switched from single rear wheels to dual rear wheels that made a whole lot of difference to me in cross winds.
  16. The 2011 Trailer connector power is fused at 25A and runs on a 16 gauge wire.
  17. Ok for the tech data. The camera connector beneath the tail gate is C497 and is a 6 conductor cable. Pin 1 is Violet with Gray strip and is +12 volts Pin 2 is White with Green strip and is Video + Pin 3 is Brown with Violet strip and is Video - Pin 4 is Black and is a ground shield for Video. This is Not power ground and should not be used for Power Ground. Pin 5 is Black on Male connector and Black with White stripe on Female connector and is Power Ground. Pin 6 is not used. With this information just about any license plate camera may be used in place of the one in the tailgate for us 5th wheelers that remove the factory tail gates. I can't wait for my F350 SD
  18. I got an Email today that Helm Inc is now accepting orders for wiring diagrams for F350-F550. I ordered mine today.
  19. I just got my Vin# at 6 weeks from date of order. 1FT8W3DT9BEC49779
  20. I have an 18 mile drive to work and the temperature gauge doesn't start moving until I am half way to work in my 2005 F350XLT Crew cab. So I sprang for the Remote Start and the Axillary Heat in my new truck that I ordered in the end of January. It will be Spring before I get it so I will have to wait until next year to test. Having the Engine block heater plugged in does help.
  21. Helm Inc now list March 28th as a release date for 2011 Wiring diagrams for F350 - F550
  22. It should not be hard to figure out. It probably has a connector with 4 wires. +12V, Ground, Video+, and Video- With a multimeter and the camera activated. Unplug the tailgate camera, and see if you can find +12v between two of the terminals. This will be your power. The wire sizes may also give you a clue. Once +12 and ground have been figured out you can experiment and connect the video each way briefly without injury. A license plate camera such as sold by Crutchfield and their Boyo line should work. My dealer did not know the camera was mounted in the tailgate. So this is what I am going to do. An Engineer.
