Emailed my dealer asking when the mthly sweep was, told me a tire shortage held up the truck, should be scheduled for next week. Thanks for all the info.

ME and Carguy, thanks for all the info. My order was processed on 3/14 with a priority '10' based on the Vehicle Order Confirm. Its a FX2, Screw, lux pak, 157" wb, 5.0L and 3.55 axel. If I understand correctly, if the dealer doesn't have an allocation for this trim, it will take a longer time to schedule the build date and if it doesn't get picked-up in next week's sweep, I will have to wait at least until June? Dealer said that parts shortage was preventing his orders from being schedule to get built. I'll give him a call this week and ask about the dora and his allocation. Considering I was just at a dealer in TX w/ over 160 F150s in stock and not one matched my order, I'm probaby SOL and will just have to wait. Thanks again for all your help. RKSteel

ME, thanks for clearing up how the allocation works. I'm waiting about 7wks now for my F150 FX2 to be built. Does the monthly sweep for retail orders get processed by length of time an order has been in an unschedule clean status (longest-highest priority)? Thanks.

Ordered mine 3/14, still do not have a build date. Best advice, don't read these forums. :-) Some people get their VINs within days, others take weeks. JLR is right, be patient and enjoy your truck when it arrives.

gbb, surprise you had to order that truck. I had to order my FX2 Screw w/ 6.5bed. I'm traveling to Houston next month and I was checking dealers in the area (like I would drive one back to NY) and one of them had a bunch of FX2s (Halvick ford? on Katy Freeway), all short beds though. Did the dealer search the area for you?

The site pulls up TrueCar.com. That site was almost spot on regarding factory invoice, best price etc. Its good to know the dealer invoice and holdback. Luckily, I was able to get a Xplan pin, which came in handily when the dealer I was going to buy to truck from starting crying about not making any money and being an a$$ about it. Said nice talking with you and left.

My paint wasn't mentioned in the article, but I am sure that Sterling Grey Metallic uses the same pigment. Hopefully Ford finds another supplier for this paint.

Spoke to Ford, said truck is in order processing stage, about where it should be at this time, he said should go into production w/in a few days. I ordered my truck 3/12, hopefully it follows your timeline and I'll get my VIN on Monday

You think the paint supplier would be an American company. I never considered paint would hold up the process, maybe computer parts from Japan. Unbelievable.

My dealer spoke to his Ford rep and the rep said my dealer won't have trucks built this week. May call Ford anyway.

Ordered my truck 3/12, dealer emailed me today that "they are scheduling some trucks tomorrow, will let me know if mine is one of them." Does anyone know if this is scheduled for production, or a bunch of dealer orders are submitted and some are accepted ( the dealer allocation?). Thanks.

Except for the color, the trucks are the same. Did you pick it up yet? How do you like it? Could not find a FX2 with 6.5 bed anywhere. Had a dealer in FL check for 2000 mile range, nada. Only one in the state and it was red. The dealer told me 6-8 weeks, but I have seen some threads with 10-12 weeks. I hoping mid May.

bpm, shop around its amazing the differences in prices the dealers will give you. I went to a dealer close to my house, looking to order an FX2, sticker 38+, best deal was 37 and he was acting like he was giving me his first born with the deal. Do your research and get multiple quotes. For my FX2 that I ordered, invoice was the best out the door price from a few dealers.

Ordered my FX2 Screw 5.0L, 6.5 bed last week. Once the dealer submits the order, does it all depend upon Ford? Does Ford wait until they have similiar trucks, a specific number of trucks from the same geographic area, etc before they start building them? Thanks.
