  1. This clown is putting the SOS link on every thread and them claims he is not one of them. What a liar.
  2. They are dreaming. 99% of them have never went on strike. They benefited from the work their grandparents did. If they had to carry a strike sign and get paid $200 a week, they would complain that the International didn't force them to vote YES. The negotiators have been there for 3 months. Going back to the table would be meaningless, if people want to vote NO get ready to strike. For the 90% who are living paycheck to paycheck, it is $200 a week and there is no reason to think you will get as much as in this agreement.
  3. Sorry that you are in such a tough situation. That is a problem with this country. They say we live in a democracy but most people work in dictatorships.
  4. It's a win-win for both the Company and the Union. If the Companies credit rating gets better, that is also a win for the union long term. The less money the company has to pay out in interest can be invested in plants, products or be included in company profits.
  5. By having buyouts and more work insourced it is obvious that skilled trades will be brought back into trades.
  6. Thanks Jeff. We appreciate this at the Rouge. And it is very interesting since we all know most of the negativity was coming from DTP. So for Katalis to step up and support it is a good thing.
  7. I wouldn't want to see work taken from anywhere. If it left DTP, it would impact me also because I work at the Rouge. So, it would have a domino effect on DDMP, DSP and Tool & Die at minimum. But maybe your point is Gary has never had to feel the effects of work leaving? Don't be worried about Gary, we see his fliers and stuff, but few take him seriously in the Rouge.
  8. I have been told we kept or created at least 2200 jobs because of the 2007 Sourcing Moratorium. That is a good deal. Has anyone heard of an estimate of how many jobs this will create or keep through 2015?
  9. I don't see how anyone can look at what was negotiated and say no. Look what we've been through the past 10 years. This is a very good contract.
  10. I haven't heard anything about a cap. At my location, there is definitely a buzz in skilled about the $100,000.
  11. No wonder the salaried guys I work with have been acting strange lately. Anyone else notice this? They are acting real weird.
  12. There is good and bad in most things. If you look at all the work that we are getting, that is very good. IMO, I place work and job security above most other things. So on my scale, that is a good thing.
  13. From what I've seen, you are right on. Laying groundwork is important if we want to get more power for the future.
  14. This is just a bad response. If we dont get what we want in negotiations or you dont like what is going on in your plant "Then Quit...............Nobody forces you to work at FORD!" I'll remember that for all my hourly brother and sister complainers out there.
  15. I feel ya brother! Too many people I know ask me why we are so greedy. I try to explain all the good the union does, but all they see is the UAW anti-union bashers on TV and in the paper wanting more and more money. We can do all the good in the world and one Gary can mess it up in 5 minutes.
  16. For some reason many brothers and sisters think COLA will be a windfall in there checks. It doesn't mean it will be in reality. Inflation has been low for awhile. Unless someone has a crystal ball that shows it skyrocketing, I think we may be asking for something that will have little or no impact.
  17. We do need continued work in our plants. Without work, we have no future.
  18. I found this letter in one of the break rooms at work. Sorry, I don't have something to scan the letter, so I am putting it below as it was. Give 'Em A Chance......Gary I don't need to be reminded over and over again what I've had to give up; I live it every week when I pay my bills. Hell Yes, I'm upset what the executives make in this company, but again Gary you were face to face with Mullally in Chicago only a few weeks ago and didn't say a word. Sure, I want the second tier employees wages and benefits brought up, it's only fair, however we must not do it in such a way that the company ships more of our job overseas. Great wages mean nothing if we are laid off. In short I think we should let the negotiators do there job. They are from the plants, just like us. As a matter of fact several are from our own Local 600, but then again you never agree to any contract including the one you negotiated yourself when you were chairman before you were voted out by the membership for poor leadership!!! I don't think we should be questioning them when they don't even hava a proposed contract yet. When they're done let's see what they are able to negotiate and decide if we are better off. Come On Gary Let Them Do Their Job. A Concerned Worker
