  1. Yeah, if you're in stop and go a lot you should of probably gotten the hybrid lol. It excels in slow traffic.
  2. Yeah, I put $1000 down but from what I've heard around these parts its not unusual for Ford to be checking custom orders for the fusion and verifying them with customer signature on a copy of the invoice. I had to do it for my SE. maybe it's just random and not everyone has to do it.
  3. Wow...Blueovalforums..not only filled with the most anxious new fusion owners, but the most proud to have one AND the most obnoxious about quality lol. Most people don't even think to do half of the things we talk about in these forums...but what else do we have to do when we have to wait months for our new car obsessing over each one we see in hopes one will be ours just like it lol. Thanks for the pictures, they look great! That's exactly how my titanium hyb will look. same color and everything. Looks great and certainly worth the extra money.....with every fusion picture we seem to be getting having quality problems that everyones picky over it looks like upon months of waiting we'll all arrive at the dealer after he gives us the keys and give him a list of repairs he needs to make on the brand new car before we drive it off the lot Lol... DOORS..NOT STRAIGHT....TRUNK...1 MM GAP LARGER ON THE RIGHT.... REAR DOORS...SOUND LIKE THEY ARE HITTING THE SIDE OF THE CAR...WHEELS NOT ALIGNED...ANDDDD I CAN HEAR ROAD NOISE WHERE I SHOULDNT!..oh and I DID NOT see a complimentary die cast model on my front seat waiting for me...take it back and fix it all in 10 minutes so I can go. lol.
  4. god look at those tail lights....cant wait for my hybrid titanium...I WANT THOSE LIGHTS on EVERY NIGHT. Those lights are so significant to me because most car companies like to make their lights look like they wrap around by showing some of the plastic housing on the side but the lights are in fact only viewable from the back...when I found out my hybrid SE had the entire red wrap around area just reflectors I was a little crushed....but looking at your photos makes those lights seem so much worth having. The way the LEDs actually flow off the back of the car and you have to walk to the side of the car to see the rest of them....or standing at the side of the car and having to move to the back to see the full lights...that's just beautiful and signature for the Fusion right now...love them. love your new car. Enjoy!
  5. Same! I'm going to have a list of things I check for as well. As a side note though, I posted the official dealer check-list on this form of what a dealer is SUPPOSE to check for with each new fusion sold before handing them off into the wild with their new owners. There may be a few items on there you want to add to your list.
  6. Haha that was I was thinking after I read those comments..i was like...oh god im going to buy a lemon aren't I? Lol. I'm going to have to pull out the old x-ray glasses (my mother as nothing gets past her) when I go to pick mine up!
  7. Hey buddy did you sign yet? I placed my order last week but I have not signed the DORA yet. Dealer said it wasn't in yet or just got in. I think i'm signing this weekend or so...but yeah.
  8. I am so excited for you! ^_^ That's awesome. We both will be getting ours around the same time I imagine haha. You know ambient lighting can be controlled right? You can turn the LED lights up and down.,..has a bunch of lighting brightness settings. Just a heads up so if it is too low or bright for your liking you can do that using MFT. I had a feeling you would change and join us in the waiting line heheh. Congrats on the re-order! Now we can stay friends... LOL jk
  9. i cant wait until my hybrid titanium comes..me and chunkie will be at the front of the line...although we are getting the car for very different reasons...he mostly needs something to stash a body in..so a car with plenty of trunk space and ambient lighting...i mostly want something i can call home when my girlfriend kicks me out of the house and with AV inputs i can play my playstation in the comfort of my front seat <3
  10. I said they were moving the cars to flat rock for inspection and to finish them before shipping them out..i dont see how that doesn't make sense? but mmkay.
  11. Lol,....yeah...poor poor Ford...last of the American car companies that didn't take the government bailout (or so i heard)... Great new car...horrible production.. Just when I was defending them to people who wear by ford's low quality that they had changed... No wonder this company has a bad rap...year after year, model after model recalls... Oh well.. Hopefully my hybrid titanium will be good..it's honestly the only car i can see myself buying.. but this will definitely make them lose sales and recalls are like permanent blemishes on a credit report.. definitely going to hurt...wonder when it will go public...seems like we got "insider first" info so far.
  12. He's being sarcastic. Those lights are not coming to America this year anyway lol. Features for the 2013 Fusion are set in stone. Brochures, websites, their media campaigns, dealer training manuals..all that stuff is set in stone. It's far too late in the game to add new features to a 2013 Fusion.
  13. LOL, too bad it wasn't for taillights...would of been funny if Ford realized..oh crap only the Titaniums have led's in the red strip! RECALLLLLLLLL PEOPLEEEEE.
  14. I knew they were moving vehicles...that dummy on page one who replied to me is the one that doesn't know what HE is talking about. This makes total sense.
  15. You have it backwards...they are preparing the plant in Mexico for the hybrid titanium. The hybrid titanium isn't going to be built in flat rock initially.
  16. Same here, I got my titanium hybrid ordered and even though the waits longer, it will be here really soon once December gets here and production starts. I'm pretty excited actually! Driving around in a titanium is going to rock :D I'm a gadget and technology guy so having intelligent access and stuff as a student and push button start is going to be convenient.,..and i didnt have to buy a prius for it either :P
  17. I bet it does look nice...but that shot makes it look dusty lol. Try showing us a complete picture of the car from a distance so we can see what its like when most people view it. I got White Platinum..i can only image how shiny and pearly it will look in the light :D
  18. This, from what I'm hearing so far has to do with the hybrids...and it very well could be correlated to the new Fusion Hybrid Titanium going into production IN DECEMBER. From what a Ford representative told me about the whole Job 2 process it would begin in mid to late December as the plant will be CLOSED while preparations are made...everyone that worked on JOB 1 and the fusions you ordered will be replaced with a new crew that have been trained and are fresh for JOB 2. I would imagine it would take more than 2 weeks in early december to change an entire plants assembly to built a new car...soooo I guess some of this makes sense. The plant in Michigan may not be prepared to start mass assembling the fusions but it is very much open. The plant won't be making fusions until around February 2013..titanium hybrids will begin production in december. My only guess is that if Ford wants to remain on schedule with their December timeline of closing the plant, reorganizing and setting it up and reopening it in mid december to late december with the creation of hybrid titaniums then they need to start NOW...which is what it sounds like they are doing...new fusions are still being created every day but some of the final preperations and storage of these vehicles may be being moved to Flat Rock and then they will ship to dealers and customers from there and from Mexico. This move will allow them to start preparing their factory now as they'll have more space to do things they need to. I don't know what their process is but if they are moving materials north it can only be for saving space and moving things out of the way so the plant handles less as some of their man power is being shifted over to the hybrid titanium anyway. With this new ETA of TBD it is most likely that they are not going to be shipping from Mexico for very much longer and cars will now go from mexico to flat rock and be finalized there before going out to customers and dealers. It could be that this is just affecting custom orders and dealer orders will remain to ship faster straight from Mexico. Who knows...but one thing is for sure..there is commotion in the ocean and I can only assume it's because of the hybrid titanium. I doubt it's quality issues..but if it is...that would be a horrible punch for hybrid buyers of the new fusion everywhere and...would frankly worry me this late in the game....i mean stalling orders actually going out to people that have been built and bringing them back to the factory? what is this the end of the world? Were they built by aliens or something? Lol.. I don't think it's a quality issue. Fortunately for me I don't care about my hybrid SE anymore..it's dated at arriving november 12th but i dont even check on it anymore now that i ordered a hybrid titanium. if this work shift is related to titanium hybrid production then I for one am happy to see they aren't pushing me back and are moving ahead on schedule...sucks for se hybrid buyers though as now there is an extra step in finalizing the car which may involve shipping it to Flat Rock before shipping it out to customers.
  19. Great shot of what most people want to see..Titanium model with rear LEDs on, stock trims..etc...This video actually isn't bad and when he hops inside he says a few things that are pretty cool such as the car knowing its hot outside so once you get inside and the air automatically comes on to cool the car...but once you actually start the car the A/C is off because it was never actually "on" and was just pre-cooling the car for you...and the push button start looks realllllly cool. the aluminium break pedals are nice and shiny...i'm excited. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdscgjSE2pI
  20. Believe it or not the hybrid weighs the exact same as the 2.5 liter base S model at 3,615 pounds. The titanium actually weighs 3,526 pounds. The titanium hybrid isn't going to get that much less in mpg than the se hybrid. That's silly. For one thing pre-production models are used in EPA testing which means they probably used a hybrid between what we would call today a hybrid se and a hybrid titanium. Remember, unless you've forgotten, many of the pre-production hybrids were titaniums in disguise so the numbers may very well be from a hybrid titanium versus the stripped down hybrid se (such as no led red tail lights) ford finalized on sale today. Secondly, EPA numbers (assuming no optionals are added) are on the base model...that means as soon as you start adding ANYTHING...park assist, MFT with navigation and dual clusters, apperance package with spoiler or luxury package with all the cams, sensors, and leather seats...MPG will change and i can almost certainly guarantee most of you featured-up your fusions so you'll all lose some of the 47mpg. Secondly...the hybrid comes with 17 inch wheels standard so if you're even asking about mpg loss from 18 to 19 then think about mpg loss from 17 to 18...you're already losing some. Furthermore, the titaniums exclusive features like ambient lighting, spoiler, and chrome trim on the doors are so nominal. The navigation system would weigh more than some of that...and heaven forbid you added the moonroof to your car...the most heavy accessory yet...one that actually requires a seperate frame for the fusion to fit the thing...that may lose MPG...so it's not like you're looking at the titanium not meeting EPA numbers...your driving habits will keep you from reaching it, the road conditions will, and the very car you configured is configured against the estimated MPG..fact remains there is little difference in the titaniums weight...a normal fusion (SE) weighs 3,421 and a titanium weighs 3,526. That's a difference of 105 pounds. With that respect and the hybrid being 3,615 ..assuming that's not a titanium hybrid weight that 105 pound difference lessens as you add titanium features to your SE in options or change the wheels. The EPA tests vehicles by driving them around in the real world, but mostly using a dynamometer. It's used in the "city" program to replicate an urban rush-hour driving experience in which the vehicle is started with the engine cold and is driven in stop-and-go traffic with frequent idling... Right away that does not match everyones daily commute. The car also only goes an average speed of 20 mph and a top speed of 56mph...that is not most people's street driving all the time on 55mph streets. The "highway" program is just a 12.5 minute test over 10 miles with an average speed of 48mpg and a top speed of 60mph...both of these tests are performed with the vehicles air conditioning and other accessories turned off..that means dont have your phones or bluetooth going guys.... Basically, after you know this you realize their tests are not very typical of the average driver at all...who doesn't go over 60mph on the highway? if you took their results as a golden standard then no one would get 47mpg at all unless you drove as a blind old woman with no place to go. But we all drive OUTSIDE those ranges frequently which means our actual real world MPG can easily be less than 47mpg...or easily greater! From all the reviews of this car the hybrids have all gotten in the high 30s..i think i only read one review in which a man got over 47mph and that was while coasting for a long period of time. This makes perfect sense because most experts have found the EPA's ratings for hybrids are overstated by a factor of at least 20% which would make the 2013 Fusion hybrids ideal mpg 37.5 ...and THAT IS ACTUALLY WHAT MOST REVIEWERS HAVE BEEN REPORTING....high 30s. This discrepency can be wider if you drive primarily on the highway where hybrids tend to be less efficient than in stop-and-go city conditions.
