  1. Duhh..I was the first in this forum to question Fords methods and madness for obtaining 47 mpg combined. And it's still very much unobtainable except by people wasting gas going uphill in one direction and driving downhill in another to get 50-60mpg...which sadly, means nothing in everyday, NORMAL, driving. Everyone here's in denial but this is a Ford fanbase..so it makes sense..but keeping it real...it's no surprise 6 months later people are still questioning the fusion/c-max EPA numbers. im still getting my hybrid titanium..but i've come to live with the fact whatever i get with it is better than a non-hybrid counterpart so that alone makes me happy. Furthermore, the more MPG i can get on my daily commute, the more surprising i'll be..but if i was someone interested in the new fusion hybrid i would not buy it based on the EPA estimates as Ford would advertise you do, because this car has some shifty engineering and quality issues known all to well to members of this forum, some of which may keep you from achieving those numbers on your own as a lifetime goal.
  2. Horrible launch with only visible quality. Get beneath the sheet metal and the leather and the car runs on aston's looks and good marketing. Nonetheless Fusion titanium hybrid should be scheduled any day now..
  3. Yup! I think the new Face of Ford looks great and they should definitely boost sales in all of their vehicles with the current refreshes they've made. I think the Fusion is their Ace card though.
  4. Scavenged from the bowels of the Underworld, It's very good and explores the new Fusion hybrid in great depth! One of the things I loved in the review was how they explained the new Fusion hybrids MPG woes. I think a lot of people don't trust Consumer Reports and argue that their claims of the new fusion hybrid MPG not meeting EPA estimates is bologna. But Car and Driver's reasons match what the rest of the nation is saying and with good reason and justification as well. The new Fusion suffers greatly from unrealistic EPA estimates that nowhere match what this vehicle can regularly do and it's really tragic. People defend Ford in this Forum as much as blind unbelievers think global warming is all a lie and conspiracy but the truth speaks for itself in everyone that HAS driven this car. You can either take their word for it or you can continue blaming America for its poor driving habits. Grab some popcorn and enjoy this gem!
  5. And that has to be the most popular and most overly stated excuse in this forum for hybrid buyers not getting close to advertised mpg. It's amazing how easy and effortless it is for human beings to blame each other when things don't go right instead of admitting fault themselves or accepting that they bought a product that doesn't perform as advertised. None of you even have the slightest clue how anyone else drives and yet you're so quick to act like you know without a doubt their driving habits and styles are soooo bad. I mean seriously. If I said I had a 2013 fusion hybrid and had bad MPG I'd have 3-4 people near cursing me out on this forum and another 5-7 swearing I've never driven a hybrid before and don't know how to drive one lol. It's funny really. Here's my opinion since we've all heard everyone elses. The new car gets nowhere near 47mpg combined and if I had to put a statistic on the number of ford fusion hybrid buyers that have reached this is probably less than 5% based on nationwide reviews and consumer reports. If we were going by posts in this forum then 1%. I'm getting a hybrid titanium and I know I won't get 47mpg combined. It will be a treat when I do, but I don't expect my lifetime mpg to ever reach that and I'm fine with that. I'm fine getting anything this car will give me because its still better than the competition..but when I do get my car and I ask if anyone else is getting poor mpg too don't tell me it's because I don't know how to drive. Some of you are so rude to people. And to anyone on the fence about getting the hybrid because of poor MPG.. you do have an alternative..a perfect one actually. Buy the gas model and continue contributing to global warming. In 5-10 years temperatures will be so warm you'll be crazy not to get a hybrid.
  6. I'm sure the engine didn't go into the cabin as I'm sure that rarely happens in any car these days. Video leaves much for interpretation and humor however. I highly doubt a car would get an "acceptable" rating if the end result of a head on collision was being compacted by the engine ahead.
  7. The wait for some of us is almost over! It's exciting..but Christmas is right around the corner and I thought I'd spread Christmas cheer. Afterall some of the people over at the FordFusionClub are doing ANYTHING to scare new people out of their Fusions. ..I'm glad no one here is this barbaric. Nope, we've all waited patiently and kindly and sympathetically for the one car we know will rule them all. So enjoy the holidays for the new year will be here before you know it and with it a sweep of new Fusions for us all!
  8. The new MKZ.. A car so beautiful and elegant in picture yet so bloated and elephant in person. Would be a great car if photoshop could render its wonders on the real thing as well.
  9. Hey bubble butt, actually since we're all hypothetically speaking here I thought I'd add my own assumptions to the mix. Technically the 8-12 weeks from ordering to delivery involved placing your order, getting it accepted by ford, waiting in queue, getting a build date once your turn nears, having a vin, having the car built and getting the car shipped to you. The average time between getting the car sent to you from its build date is only about 2-3 weeks. Now anyone who is getting a hybrid titanium most likely ordered it already...and its been accepted by ford....and its waiting in queue.... that means all we are waiting for is a build date...and if production starts on january 7th..and we are all first in line chances are our build date will be around that time...which means...2-3 weeks after that just may well still be the last week of January the earliest dealers and some custom buyers may get their fusion hybrid titaniums. Essentially most of the 8-12 week period is already negated for us since the car hasn't been in production yet AND we are at the front of the list ordering once they were first announced for ordering. So I'm going to hope for getting mine by Australia Day (January 26th) because I'm an ambitious being...maybe if I'm lucky I'll be able to pick it up on Mawlid Un Nabi.
  10. Wow...I wonder where the engine went..looks like it went completely into the cabin pulverizing all occupants and victims into an instant death. On the bright side though, if anyone survived getting the engine placed on their laps they only need to replace the front half of the car. That should save a couple thou. Acceptable indeed.
  11. I'm assuming you all ordered in early November as well? I placed my HyTi order on November 5th.
  12. Yeah i made a post about this last week and yeah most likely they will be audited...what the results of the test will be is the mystery now.
  13. I agree...I wasn't too thrilled with this new guy either or the story, but it was fun nonetheless. Nothing beats Ezio's story line through...from when he was young, to middle aged, to retired..all three were the best in the series.
  14. Trueeeee...none of that is legal in california...then again unlike other states I guess that don't have to worry, they do about what strangers with that much ammunition can do. Nothing like walking into a movie theater with a trunk full of explosives and ammunition and then killing 15 people, including a newborn baby, minutes after the start of "The Dark Knight Rises" ... or attending a Gay Pride event in San Francisco and leaving one dead and two wounded. Seems like people reallyyyyy are standing up for their rights to bear arms in that state.
  15. I agree with that other dude...California blows in so many ways that if it were it's own country, with all entertainment hotspots aside, it would not only be a very costly country to live in, but one so heavily swayed by special interests groups and slowly taxing just about everything they can slowly think of that you would wonder what exactly the place offered for you besides a nice coast line. Anyhooooo.... Owning a Fusion Hybrid in california does rock...seeing as it boosts the warranty from 8 years/100,000 miles to 10 years/150,000 miles...good place to buy your fusion!
  16. Contact them for specific information about your vehicle by looking up your VIN or order number/dealer code combo. They do the exact same thing someone else on this forum does for free to members. Also, how are you enjoying AC3?
  17. Yeah, maybe...but in the end the benefits of titanium outweigh the rims.
  18. Maybe the car doesn't change for every Fusion Hybrid and stays the same? If it knew the color of your car based on some order information in the database then I would say it's a dynamic image and the tires should match your car as well..but since I doubt it doesn anything fancy like that I take it it's just a single stock image for everyone that happens to be from a pre-production model or maybe they just thought that looked sleek on peoples screens versus all those little lines of the 18 inch rims.
  19. At the top of the hill huh? You probably could of gotten infinite MPG if you just turned the car off and coasted all the way down. Still, nothing like balancing out the cost of going up with the benefits of going downnnnnnn
  20. We have been through this before.. The car IS currently unscheduled. They aren't even going to go into production until they schedule production and even though today is the 15th of December it has not been officially announced when production for this vehicle will begin, let alone that they have scheduled the production process out yet. So as of right now anyone who ordered a Titanium Hybrid is just waiting for the ball to get rolling at this point. As for the material hold, of course there is a material hold. They have the materials but they're not doing anything with them yet and the materials they don't have yet they have to wait for them to arrive so those materials are technically holding up the production of the vehicle. As of right now there would be no reason to assume the Titanium Hybrid is being held back when production hasn't even started yet and from the looks of things in other forums may not even begin until January. I would chalk that status up to being nothing more than a placeholder in their system for Fusion Titanium Hybrid orders right now.
  21. Thanks for the video. It was good and much appreciated. I know we got off to the wrong foot last time... So I apologize. But I don't have a grudge against you or anyone else on here (except akirby..he's a man I'll never understand) so thanks for the video and the insight. I don't know why people are getting the impression I'm a troll lol..but its an entertaining reputation to say the least.
  22. Do you know when you should be expecting it? Do you know when you should be expecting yours? Was it an SE or Titanium?
  23. Once again kirblo you fail to understand my English as if it is different from your own. I am not speaking from the time of ordering. I am speaking from the time I first heard about this car and knew i was going to purchase it. Waiting for order banks to open in the first place waiting for my local ford dealer to accept orders. That was since December 2011 FYI. And yes From January when it was announced to when I placed my order in August and replaced it for a higher trim in November I've been waiting. The whole point is most of the people here have only been waiting 2-4 months and didn't even think they would get this car 12 months ago. There's no point giving up on your order because if I can wait this long, they can wait an extra few weeks or so.
  24. More and more people are starting to have second doubts on their Fusion orders and are actively beginning to seek alternatives :surrender: . I just hope you don't jump the gun just yet. You've waited what? weeks? a month? maybe three? Well I've waited 12 months as of today and I would gladly wait a little more because I'm expecting my car in early 2013 and if everything goes according to plan that means I may be driving my new Hybrid Titanium in January or February..definitely before spring break at the end of March. :stats: *flashback* I first heard about the new fusion in December 2011 before it was even revealed to the public. At that time i was finally ready to get a brand new car for the first time and i was interested in the prius hands down because of its excellent fuel economy. I just couldnt wait until the new 2013 versions were announced..but something crossed my eye in a google search..something along the lines of "Ford estimates new fusion gets 47mpg"..and instantly my world turned upside down. Was the fusion a "real" car? It's just 3mpg less than the prius..i could take that if it means better performance and reputation than the prius. At that time Ford just released a iphone/android app that would tease the world until the big reveal at the Detroit Auto Show in January..and i was already wrapped up in excitement over this vehicle based on reviews and what i found out about the 2012 version. Just days before January 8th and the big reveal someone cracked the android/iphone app and leaked the photos on the net and, like everyone else who saw, was wowed beyong belief...but not as wowed as I would have been just two days later seeing youtube fill up with videos and images flood the net. After that I KNEW this had to be my car. This was the car i've always wanted..it spelled luxury in its looks, technology behind the wheel, and sportiness in its performance and handeling. Much more then tin can that the prius spells. So my long, adventurous wait would begin.. As the months went on Every day...EVERY DAY i looked to the net and to youtube for ANYTHING new i didnt know about this car..information, images i've never seen, videos just posted within the last 24 hours...4 hours.. January went by...February...March..Expectations at the time were that the car would come out in late summer/early fall 2012..so i expected information to pop up everywhere..but months passed with nothing... it wasnt until around june/july that pricing and more information came out...it wasnt until august/september that the official configurator went online..my hopes of driving this car before school ended changed to driving it before Halloween. I placed my order for the Hybrid SE August 28th...and like all of you have gone through hoops and bounds and waits and TBA's and dying for a VIN ..but i took the 8-12 week challenge for getting a newly customized hybrid and while i expected to have my car in October..my dealer forgot i had to sign the DORA and that set me back a few weeks..now im looking at before thanksgiving.. And all of this was before the recalls and cosmetic issues people are facing and finding out the different trims offered different things...i remember the whole no led red tail lights fiasco we faced in these forums a month ago. I sighed but didnt give up because this car had it all and reviews were rushing in about how great this car was confirming all of our wildest dreams and rocketing more pre orders. when bad news started to come in like the titanium getting more than we all expected i started to have second thoughts on my se hybrid and wished a titanium version was available...i didnt wanna get another car but i tried convincing myself the se wouldnt make me regret getting it since i had fully loaded it with everything available to man...but when i found out the tail lights wouldnt even be leds, just reflectors..i was crushed. the red part i mean. only the titanium had full led tail lights in everything.. but then around 3 weeks until my car was expected to be delivered...the titanium was announced and i jumped on it! I was sooo happy...but it would extend my wait until early 2013 as production wouldnt start until december...I DIDNT CARE...the true fusion i always thought i'd get from the pre production photos was finally available! and whats an extra 2-3 months if it means 6-8+ years of happiness? Being the maximizer that I am 'cause i dont settle for less i took the plunge and the 10+ people hoping i'd die in a car crash or fall off a cliff :rip: so they could get my hybrid se...the ONLY hybrid se in the city.. were happy lol. Now from August 28th...It's almost christmas and I still am not driving my fusion yet...but do i despair? Nope. Do I regret my order? Nope..because i realize if i change cars sure ill be driving something new which is what i want..but its not the car i truly would of purchased if i had the choice...and fortunately i do...and so do many of you. Don't let your impatience and your dire need to drive a 2013 fusion actually keep you from owning one..these weeks are flying past...it seemed like just yesterday it was november...thanksgiving approaching..and now its almost christmas...and a week later..we'll be in January. Sure our minds and standards and expectations are being tested as Ford goes through the 1st year of production blues with recalls and other mishaps and slow downs..but none of that changes the fact that we have opted to purchase a quality, luxury midsized sedan versus the mediocre competition everyone else is driving. And backed by warranty what do we have to worry about? Honestly, if a problem arises it'll get fixed for free so who cares? Don't give up on your Fusion order just yet. It's been a full year and I expected to be driving over 6 months ago..whats another few weeks or a couple months when once your car arrives and you're sitting behind the wheel of it you know you've made the best choice you could have and will be turning heads. You'll look back at the past months you waited and know you made it through the fire and are sitting in your prized posession and its ALL YOURS...sucks for everyone else just now ordering cause I GOT MINE! It's been a long year and i've learned more about cars and the production process and the ordering process and so much just waiting for the day my car arrives at the dealer...and ive even been apart of this forum for months and have learned a lot..be it sometimes i feel like i'm surrounded by adults who think they know it all ..i know they're just as excited and curious about this new car and the news around it as i am. *end flashback* So there's my story lol. Hopefully it gives you a little more inspiration to hold on longer because your wait has been nothing if not very informative and fruitful for you! :yup: Think of all the things you've learned about this vehicle and from drivers with the car already you wouldnt have if you had your sooner. It's made you come around these parts and know stuff most people who would just go to the dealer, buy the car and leave would never know... We know what to check for when our car arrives, how to tailor it customly to our needs, and even some of the press news and reviews on this car that taught us a lot. When we get ours we wont be stepping into a rocketship with 5000 buttons and not know a damn thing to do..we'll feel like..we'll i've been in this countless times with the number of pictures and videos i've seen...finally i can just dive into doing what i want to do because i know how now. Save your money and be patient. You'll have your car soon enough.
  25. Urgggg, why couldnt dynamic LED's be an option on the 2013 fusion like they are on the 2013 mondeo...ill probably have to wait until i see more pics of awesome fusion mods and prices to pop up before ill jump in and make any headlight mods. I'll most likely need a professional too unless you live around my area :P
