  1. And this sites only flooded with activity because many of us are awaiting our new fusion..we are excited...discussing features and many have not even test drove one so are excited to hear whatever they can from others...believe me this time next year this section may not be as popular as it is now...much of the other areas of this site aren't and are just places for people to stumble on for support or assistance. Just look at the Taurus forum for example..not hardly as many pages of activity as this forum..and most of these pages are for the 2013 fusion curently.
  2. Under real world driving conditions and from car to car not everyone would get 47mpg combined anyway...those ETA "perfect" numbers are something one can hope to achieve under the right conditions and if their individual car is designed as the EPA test cars...imperfections in the manufacturing process on a number of components could make that exact number never be achievable 100% of the time. I think drivers will soon discover how much fuel economy the hybrid fusion normally gets as more are sold and driven...but i seriously doubt the rims would be your #1 concern for not reaching 47mpg and losing 1 mpg. With 18" rims or 19" rims if your driving seems to get you a max of 39mpg in the city or 43 on the highway then that's what you'll get..regardless of wheel size. Simply, the mpg take away from the rims would be nominal compared to the take away from your driving habits, braking habits, and the type of terrain you have to go through.
  3. The hybrid titanium seems to only come with the standard 18' polished face with flash gray-painted pocket rims. No upgrade options are available for the hybrid titanium in terms of rim choices.
  4. That's not what's surprising...who cares what trim they offer..but when you are configuring, purchasing or matching specs on their website and it shows "LED TAIL LIGHTS" across the board...its deceptive when only one trim actually has different LED tail lights versus the rest of them..and the tail lights are on models without led red circles in the back are made to look like lights so you can't tell they are just reflectors unless you KNEW to look for that...that's deception..and while it is used commonly in any advertising market...it's just wrong when its this blatant and from a company trying to improve its image. And there are enough ADVERTISED titanium differences and visible differences that make it stand out from the other trims: 12 speaker sony stereo, chrome door handles, spoiler, ambient lighting, intelligent access, push button start, exclusive rims,...having different tail lights across trims though is just stupid...its one thing to have led lighting as optional and non led lighting standard...but when you're advertising led lighting for all vehicles and having hidden true led lighting as one would expect only on one trim and not the others..that's just plain playing with peoples minds...and like you said...that is just small stuff...so small it's not needed at all for marketing purposes and is just cheap and stupid decision making. The lights aren't a defferentiator for the titanium because all the trims are being offered "led tail lights" so to the consumer there is no difference..it's the smart consumer that realizes they are holding back in advertised features and skimping on the lower end models under the table to offer their expensive trim what is truly being advertised.
  5. Yeah it's sad nonetheless, but people will get over it..we only care cause we are some of the first buyers in america...even if only 10,000 fusions are on the road that is RARE in a country of over 250 million people and more cars than that going around lol. Once fusions..the new fusions become mainstream people wont care about those anymore because fusions are all over and yours will be nothing special and nothing to turn heads that the person at the stop light next to you isnt doing....we just expect a lot because the car is advertised to have a lot...then you realize they only really advertise the Titanium as the 2013 fusion and none of the other trims....and for a bigger reason then we are led to believe I guess. Lol.
  6. Yup..and that's why unlike the rest of the car that is steel..the hood is lightweight aluminum. It's durable, not heavy, and went into thought when creating the perfect hood for the perfect midsized sedan.
  7. Sure it makes logical sense..but does it make financial sense? In a hybrid it would make financial sense because it costs more..thus it can have more of that "gas saving tech" and it needs it more desperately because the whole reason of a hybrid is to achieve better mileage than a gas vehicle..and right now makers are trying to get the gap between gas and hybrid as great as possible....but putting expensive tech in a gas car just cause a couple people want it or THINK it will help them achieve good gas mileage does not make good financial sense. You are paying for your engine first and MPG second when you opt for non hybrids...so you get a tuned ecoboost engine that will get you the greatest mileage.....if you opt for hybrids first in your mind then you're opting for expensive tech in your car to get you good mileage thus active grilles are installed because its included in that premium and those buyers do not get a powerful ecoboost engine... It's all about money in the end. No one is saying you can't have performance and good gas mileage....it's called a ECOBOOST or tubo-charged 4 cylinder.. that's what you get. Anyone who gets a hybrid gets a less powerful engine but its negated by the technology that increases mpg..and people who want this option pay more for it but its worth it getting 47mpg versus 22mpg. You get what you pay for and Ford has, luckily, made sure no matter what trim you buy you get a car with maximum fuel economy. So enjoy your gas because it may be the best gas midsized sedan on the market...but if you want more than just an underpowered, turbo-boost engine to give you good gas mileage then maybe you should look less at the gas models and more towards purchasing a hybrid. Fortunately, Ford created a 1.6 liter ecoboost engine with auto start stop and active grille shutters...so looks like you can get the best of both worlds with that though....nothing like the worlds first hybrid-like gas lol. I guess that makes it a hybrid-non-hybrid.
  8. No. I ordered my hybrid titanium and it is available in all the colors..not just three...i got mine in white platinum tricoat just like i did my hybrid SE i canceled. Interior color of the hybrid fusion WILL ONLY BE BLACK...end of story...but the exterior is any color you can get any normal fusion titanium in.
  9. Honestly it kind of makes sense? Why would you put this technology mainstream on gas-only vehicles? They aren't designed to save MPG other than having a tuned, underpowered engine for the most part. They are sharks that tear through the air..and you buy them to do so because they are powerful..and like brick walls nothing stand in their way with all those horses under the hood...except maybe a..brick wall... BUT the percentage you'd save in MPG in a gas powered car would be nominal..especially at higher and higher horsepower where any small benefit really gets negated versus the price of installing those active grilles in the car. If you're not buying a hybrid for its special MPG saving tech then you obviously aren't putting MPG first..thus why would you have expensive MPG saving tech installed in your car?...and besides...by principle people buying a titanium for the performance (from what i've seen in reviews from "normal" people) ...they love speed, love racing and going fast and all feel active grille shutters would make the engine overheat...who knows? maybe race cars don't need active grille shutters?..so neither would the gas performing fusions? ..Beyond that however, the hybrid is less of a shark and more of a graceful dolphin..powerful and agile in its own right in an otherwise shark dominated world..and unlike sharks with their powerful muscles to get them where they want dolphins use special tactics to get them where they need to go. They are smaller and more streamlined ..and just as a dolphin can take advantage of jetstreams to get places faster and further for less energy. So do hybrids close their active grille shutters to allow them to cut through air easier and maintain faster speeds....if you asked which is more beautiful a dolphin or shark, gas or hybrid..you'd get many different opinions...but one is smarter, one communicates better with its environment, and one is definitely more specialized for its existence in the wild. So when you're trying to get every ounce of speed out of an engine less powerful than a gas model it seems fitting to use active grille shutters even if it will get you only 1 or 2 mpg more..because in a world where every car company is trying to offer the best hybrids 1 or 2 mpg can be the difference between one brand or another..and Ford has achieved 47mpg combined. I can see this active grille technology being on the ecoboost with auto start/stop because even though it is a gas model...those buyers have opted for MPG and fuel savings..thus consciously chose to not sacrifice a powerful engine for hybrid-like performance...so Ford would include active grilles on those models to help them achieve any nominal mpg savings they can also get from that. It's kind of a perk for those ecoboost buyers..who knows how much it will actually help, but since they purchased the "green gas" fusion they ought to have a little more flavor under the hood to help them see benefits in their car versus the other ecoboost non auto start/stop models.
  10. I just have the regular floor mats but purchased also got the all-weather floor matts so i dont have to worry about anyone dirtying the car. Just shake them off or rinse them and put them back in. Cleanliness and longevity are my only concerns with this car and i want to try my best to give the fusion its best starting chance at that lol..because you know no one will care about the car more than the person who owns it.. Anyone else could care less what they spill or track in your car..
  11. And it's certainly not something dealers would advertise...it would take away from any trim other than a titanium.. and thats not what fords expecting to sell the most of.
  12. Three legendary Techno artists from Detrioit, Joshua Harrison, Keith Kemp, and Tom Newman took on a project: use analog and digital sounds from the 2013 Ford Fusion to create three distinct original tracks. Utilizing everything from the shutting of doors to the pleasant chimes welcoming you into the vehicle, each track's use of percussion and rhythm was derived from the car itself. Total magic. It really does seem like this car is inspiring America..
  13. Take a look at this remarkable new video from Ford... The incredible tablets of Liu Bolin, on set in LA... Artists from all over paint the scene for the all new Ford Fusion...Making every car on the street "dissappear" as the new Fusion rolls through the streets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Tbva-M7hds&feature=plcp It seems like this car is inspiring America..
  14. I just several times to make a thread showcasing some of the Fusions new advertisments but it failed 3 times...guess it just wasnt my day to post lol. But yeah the "dissapearing" commercial is cool.
  15. I didn't think the point of tail lights were so I could see them..I thought it was because OTHERS see them...hence why they look so good lit up on the titanium...I never said it was a big deal, but then again it does kinda seem like one if Ford could only afford to put them on one trim level..it may not matter to most people because they are under the assumptions they are lights at time of purchase anyway and after purchase wont trade it in just because of the lights but just be dissapointed. But no..doesn't bother me because im getting a hybrid titanium..just giving you a heads up. Enjoy your SE!
  16. Exactly...wayyy more money than its worth.
  17. The red one is only more expensive because it will be the most popular...so they are cashing in on it.
  18. I think I want a volvo now...does it come in titanium? I bet if it had park assist it once you pass a parking spot it deems good it asks you to put it in neutral so it can take over and once you do it just shuts off. All parked!
  19. Yeah because right now...to change the tail lights and order the official parts yourself will cost you $800-$1000 dollars....honestly that's what's really disgusting lol.
  20. Yes, I attended a training session for this car too and was amazed at a lot of the things I learned...and how many of the older salespersons didnt care about the car versus the younger ones lol....but Ford actually spent so much time just working on the acoustics of the car to get it sounding just right...they actually wanted it to SOUND like a high end vehicle so they went through so much work on the doors and how they were put together and the materials just to get the sound they wanted...who does that? no one except Ford that's who. Their doors close strong and smooth..they produce a nice low to midrange sound...small things like this people normally overlook but gives the car a strong, durable and high end feeling...but most of the work went into the hood...the hood was masterfully crafted to sound like a high end audi or bmw..and in my opinion sounds better...it closes with a thick thunk and sounds so strong....you know that sound a car door makes when you close it at the airport in the terminal or tunnel..that strong echo ...thats the sound the new fusions hood makes naturally..on its own...It's amazing from that to the research they put into the types of recyclables to put into the car.. they are even looking at the use of recycled money and other materials to go into their cars.
  21. Yeah saw a wholeeee bunch of S and SE's at a dealership and none of them have anything other than reflectors in the red area. It's a titanium only feature apparently.
  22. Well my other post glitched for some reason and can't be opened lol. Leave it to a Ford site (im kidding!) Anyway...As I said in the other post this will be a place for some of the 2013 Fusions newest and coolest advertisements and media campaigns. Take a look at what's appearing on television now! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAAnui908Fk&feature=plcp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Tbva-M7hds&feature=plcp
