  1. Some food for thought. A friend of mine had a 2.0T Audi A4 and he mentioned that his best mileage was by accelerating relatively quickly (not babying it) to get to cruising speed quickly, then cruise and stay off the gas as much as you can. His theory is the engine spent less time accelerating where it eats up gas and spent more time cruising. I'm going to test out this theory at some point, because I have noticed that it doesn't seem to matter if you speed up slowly or get on it pretty hard, the instant mpg shows under 5mpg. I'm half way through the second tank (that I've put in it) and I'm averaging right at 24mpg with 60/40 city/highway.
  2. I'd be interested in seeing that, but I've got to interview someone over lunch so I'll miss it.
  3. Awesome, thanks nmadole! This doesn't make me real happy as I want to install HIDs, but it could be worse like Zoomzoom5 mentioned.
  4. Yes, they have 3 memory settings. The memory also recalls the mirrors as well.
  5. There are some very nice options on the MKZ, but the front end just doesn't do it for me. The rear end I actually kind of like, but the whole front end is pretty blah IMO.
  6. That's exactly what I've tried. I've left it on last setting the last 2 days and I'm liking the results a lot better. I'll probably put it back on auto once it's warm again.
  7. I've been trying to drive it nicely yesterday and today and have it sitting at 25mpg with a decent amount of city stop and go in there. I'll fix that this afternoon when I get on the highway though. :D
  8. Haha, there's Strike trying to get a great tank, and there's me beating the car and breaking it in hard. This tank probably had at least 6-7 full throttle 0-60 runs. :D I did reset the trip right before leaving work and my total trip from work to home (12 highway miles, 6 city with a lot of sitting in traffic) and I managed 26mpg overall, which is pretty good IMO. The highway miles are not flat at all, it's a lot of up and down.
  9. The only options are auto or last setting. I've had it on auto and it's been either full AC or full heat, nothing in between. Until it gets really cold I'm leaving it on last setting and just trying to remember to set it before I get out of the car. It's just not consistently getting the temp in the car right on auto. Besides the AC I have everything else (like seats and defrost) set to auto except the pass seat heat, which I have turned off as I rarely have passengers in my car.
  10. Do you have Sync version 3.5.1? I'm wondering if that was addressed in that update or not, given the added information given to the Hybrid owners.

    HID's

You only need to worry about that if you have extremely strict inspection laws, like CA. I had some people tell me the same thing about my Audi (which had HIDs as an option, but mine didn't come with them) and I never had any trouble in NC. As long as you've done a proper implementation and aren't running a bare HID bulb in a reflector housing you'll likely be fine. And I'll be doing a DDM Tuning 55W kit. That's what I've had in my Audi and it has worked flawlessly for 4 years up until 2 weeks ago when a bulb burned out.
  12. But you just told him he should stop being cheap and buy a Titanium. Now you're telling him that not getting a titanium gives him money to do the tail lights.... Can't make up your mind?
  13. Ahh, now I see you. Maybe it needs a minimum number of fuel ups before it will do an average and put it on the list?
  14. I love the remote start, but I'm not quite as enamored with the auto AC settings. It seems like it either blasts full heat or full AC, and I'm still not sure what the cutoff is. It's been ~50*F outside and it was blowing AC when I got in the car, a most unwelcome surprise. It definitely kicks the heat on in the low 40's, but otherwise it's just been blowing cold air. At this point I'm about to leave it on last setting and just get into the habit of paying attention to what the weather will be like the next time I'll be driving the car... Anyone else having a similar experience?
  15. I don't see you on Fuelly? Or do they have a different site for you Canucks? :P
  16. Honestly the tires are going to hold the car back the most when it comes to handling. I've been careful to not throw the car around too much as I'm used to a different dynamic with my last car. I will slowly push the limits though and see how well it does. It's just hard for me because this is a much bigger car than I'm used to.
  17. How fast were you going? Given winter fuel and going at a decent speed (70-75mph) that seems about right.
  18. I'm willing to pull the trim off and get pictures of the back of the Titanium tail lights if anyone is interested. That way someone can get a picture of the SE tail light wiring and compare to see if it really is doable.
  19. I haven't seen any way to turn off stability control, and I think I've been through most of those settings at this point. A lot of newer cars don't allow you to turn that off. It typically only ends up being sports cars that allow you to do that.
  20. That's awesome that you can do it! For me the price difference between my configured SE and a base Titanium was a little over $1500, so that in the end ended up being worth it to me to upgrade. But it's nice that SE owners will have the option of adding the Titanium tail lights.
  21. The 2.0L Ecoboost is in several other models, anyone know if those owners have complained about gas mileage? I'm at a little over 400 miles and am still averaging about 22.5 - 23mpg with about 50/50 city/highway. Not as good as I would have hoped, but not nearly as bad as some. I have been romping on it a decent amount too.
  22. Correct, I've been watching Fuelly to see the 2013's pop up.
  23. Wow, just wow. I wrote up a response but realized I couldn't be nice so I deleted it. DarkeRetribution, I'll just say you may want to consider how you come off to other people on this forum. Tact seems to be a lost art.
  24. I'm using cruise control, but what I'm doing is manually shifting between 5th and 6th gear to get the rpms up and down. Seems easier than speeding up and slowing down a bunch on the highway.
  25. http://www.fuelly.com/driver/kyle2007/fusion Just thought I'd leave this here for people to look at.
