  1. Does anyone know when the MPG will be posted on this or what it should be based on the two engine types listed for the vehicle ?
  2. Just looked at this on the site. Really nice ! Anyone know or know of a place to see the tow limit ? Kind of looking at something like this but with the ability to maybe tow say a small boat. I know vehicles like the Mazda CX5 can pull about 3 K - thanks
  3. Not sure you can but that is the beauty of this car ( at least I thought) it listed at 45 /45/ 45 so it all should be the same. I am not digging into the EPA discussion however part of the reason I purchased mine was for the 45 stated. I did not understand the EPA testing at the time, still not sure but my sales person never stated anything less in the process either. In fact he did mention a benefit of this car was the MPG for this size car. Had to do with the newer type battery system I seem to remember. I average around 38 with mostly city driving , a bit more for hwy -
  4. Ok so here is the scoop on the upgrade. Seems a little mis-leading to me as I can get the car into EV mode above 62 however it is not at all like when your at or below 62 and can go for some distance in EV mode. In fact most if not all was going downhill and a little (very little) beyond then back to gas mode pretty quick. I drove from Evansville to Louisville on Eco cruise, 70 mph all the way and when stopped for bathroom break before we had go to 55 mph the car averaged 38 mph. Not really any better, in fact worst than my trip to Charleston several weeks back. Not sure what 85 would be but this upgrade is a joke. I do think having the ability to go up to 62 is great but the upgrade is less than stellar for impact.
  5. So after getting my appt in the service mgr called to let me know that I was correct and somehow they did not read the full bulletin for the upgrade. Not only did they follow the instructions this time they even tested it out > WOW what a concept . Anyway I was polite as they seemed to have changed their approach, at least when they are wrong and I picked up the car. Heading out to Louisville today and that is about 90 miles with the speed limit at 70 so shall see what happens - We still love the car and the red with tinted windows looks sharp but the dealership and customer service from the start and on going just plain old sucks. I sure with cash from Ford they will be around but this is far far away from being considered luxury experience - In fact due to my Miata having zero trunk space and the MKZ being limited I am now looking at a CUV and the escape is not even in the picture for me. Leaning more towards the CX 5 from Mazda
  6. Well I finally had a chance to take the car out after the upgrade was supposed to happen. Put it on Eco cruise, set it at 70 mph and ran about 4 miles on a pretty flat section and well much not to my surprise the car never went into EV mode. I turned the car back around to head back, set the eco cruise to 60 and guess what I hit EV mode almost right off . Stopped in to the dealer so they can check it out Monday but what a pain in the butt they are. I wish we had another Lincoln dealer here in Evansville. The service dept, much like the sale floor like to talk more than listen
  7. I updated mine today but have not drove it to see what the updates really did or looked like. I read them over but has anyone see it in action and can say it was something good , or is it more just keeeping up with the current software ? Still have not take the car out post the upgrade from the dealer either. Need to see if I get it into EV mode at 70. Not sure if I could even tell if the other stuff the upgrade was supposed to do , does do it other than the speed -
  8. I asked about the running lights but got a line of how they can not do it, not on the car, etc so I let it go for now. I guess the car was upgraded correctly but until I take it out and run the car over 70 and see it go into the EV mode I will not know. Anyone know a way to check what software version I have on the car ? I did get the letter from Lincoln today around this upgrade but of course mine should be done
  9. Just got my update so will see how it goes. Service guy is kind of hard to speak with but it sounded like they installed the latest software update and he mentioned something 86. something for the number ? And it was under some sort of consumer satisfaction bulletin - One thing he told me is there was no way to turn on daytime running lights as the car did not have them - I did not argue the point as it is not a big deal. I guess now I need to take the car out on the interstate and run it around 70 to see if it jumps into EV mode in order to see if the update happened, not sure how else to tell. Is there a place to get the software version, like with a PC ?
  10. Called my service dept and had to give the info for the update. He told me that he would have it ready and I could bring the car next Tuesday for the update to be installed. We do more city driving so not sure what overall impact we will have but I do like to have the most up to date software regardless. Our current lifetime mpg is 37 which is part to do with the wife's driving and twice what the old Kia got but still far below what I was looking for when we purchased the car.
  11. Not sure if it is the same but I had a humming noise that came from the section near the opening of the pano roof myself ( headliner area). Happened when we got around 40 and above driving. The strip between the windshield and the pano that moves when the roof opens. I guess it was catching air - Once replaced the humming is gone
  12. This is pretty good news. Hope it rolls out quicker than my car did (LOL)
  13. Has anyone used the find a parking spot function and used the car's feature to self park into a spot ? We were shown it while on our drive with the dealer but have yet to use it. Not sure I even remember how to -
  14. Here is some great news for me at least. Just completed first leg of my trip from Evansville, IN to Knoxville, TN and averaged over 45 mpg ! First started out staying under 62 on Eco cruise so I could run on EV mode when possible. That ran worked however what I thought was great was running on Eco cruise set at 70 I still saw the mpg well over 40 and at points it was pushing 50 to 60 mpg! It looked to be in gas mode as the engage section was white, no blue but at 45 + in gas I am cool with that too.
  15. Update on the car. The exhaust was replaced as something was wrong / broken however that was not the noise we heard. What is making the noise is the part that runs between the windshield and the pano roof. It is the length of the window and about 4 inches or so wide and appears to be glass. Now that we look at the part it appears to not sit flush and probably creates some drag plus with the gap it creates the wind noise as air passes over the window. Anyway we are heading off to Charleston SC on Friday so hope the wind does not rip it off ! Item is on back order so in a couple weeks it will be fixed - As far as service the dealership was fine however we had to push to get a loaner , pay to put gas back in the loaner - Maybe I am asking too much but that does not seem like a luxury brand to me -
  16. The dealer said it is internal but are checking with Lincoln designers and I think the sound is coming from under the car. Thought about the grills but I am sure they have check that but I am not sure what the "buffeting"sound your talking about - Sounds like a bad tire but that was ruled out as well -
  17. Pano roof - but that does not seemed to be the cause
  18. So a couple weeks ago the car started to make noise at and above 40 MPH. This is with all windows closed or open , top open or closed and it is not the horrible noise when the car switches to gas. It sounds like if wind is passing through and opening , more of a hum than a whine. Here is the issue - been at the dealer for now 2 days. First they replaced the entire exhaust system , not sure why. Ruled out gas tank ? and wind coming through the obvious however what is really scary was the shop said they are on the phone with designers and if they can not figure it out we may need to "discuss options" Does not sound good
  19. Tried this and worked for me but for some reason the passenger front window would roll down on the unlock but would not roll up on the lock side ? BTW this info is on page 88 in the manual or at least on the PDF one I downloaded
  20. Now that we have our car and seems to going well not sure how much I will jump on here however before I head off in the sunset I wanted to thank everyone for their help, hell even Cyber - It was painful all the way through but at least on this forum I was able to get an idea of what was going on about my car or others so it kept us going. So looking back at the original 8-9 of us that kicked this back last year , I say thanks and hope all goes well . BTW , next year or so I am going to looking for the new Miata to come out so I may show back up on their message board (LOL) Later -
  21. I live in Indiana too and I know there are several tint shops around - I thought it was OK to tint as long as it is within limits. Not sure what the limits are but I would think the shop would tell me if I ask so I do not end up scrapping it off -
  22. Looks awesome ! Glad you finally got it -
  23. So is that just setting the dial to the correct position ? Also if so do you need to remember and turn them off each time ? thanks
  24. Maybe they just gave up on this launch for the first ones out. I had a friend tell me about his mustang experience and was kind of the same but the dealer tried to offer some extra services for a perfect score. My guy said to me as I was getting in the car to leave > Oh by the way you will be getting a survey from Ford and it is about me and not Lincoln / Ford. If you feel you could not give it a good review ( not sure if he said perfect or all 10's , etc ) please call me so I can try to make it right. Not sure where in the process he felt it would be a perfect score and knowing this why he would have not tried to work it out before - Felt kind of like> I am willing to try and fix this for you but not going to offer anything up front. Of well - nice car , wife is happy, happy , happy
