  1. It could be the same thing. The vehicle seemed normal on the way home today.
  2. No codes or warning yet, which is why I am baffled. Engine sound seems normal, no pinging or anything like that. I filled up on Sunday at a Shell station with regular unleaded with 10% ethanol. Last night I put in half a tank (filled it up) of 93 octane and it doesn't have ethanol to see if it would help. This morning it seemed to run normal except after I made a 90 degree turn after slowing down. I believe the engagement of the AWD after accelerating and the disengagement caused the issue. The engine RPM were all over the map. Typicall with the disengagement of the AWD the RPM drops very slightly when still accelerating. I believe this is due to the increased powertrain losses with the AWD engaged. My friend who is a mechanic thought it could also be the MAP sensor. If it persists I will be taking it to the dealer.
  3. Left work this afternoon, and I pulled out in front of a semi a few hundred yards away onto a 55 mph road. It seemed like the engine lacked power and the harder I stepped on the gas the worse it seemed. On my way home I go over several moderate hills. Not once since I bought the vehicle has it down shifted to go over the hills, but today it down shifted for most of the them -- one hill it downshifted twice! Also when in overdrive with the cruise on the engine seems to surge (slight increase in RPM momentarily for no reason). I am a mechanical engineer so I am quite familiar with powertrains, but I can not logically determine what is going on. Right now the only thing I can possibly think of is I got a bad tank of gas. I also thought if was maybe the increase in engine load die to the air conditioner, but I turned it off and the same symptoms continued. Anyone have something similar happen? Any ideas? My only other guess would be an issue with the transmission. By the way, I have 11,500 miles on. Thanks.
  4. I have the same issue. It was much worse this winter and whistled terribly. I took it in for the first oil change and they said they could not duplicate it. Now that it has warmed up it doesn't whistle, but I do get above average noise. If it comes back this winter I will have to take it in again.
  5. You can get MyFord Touch without Nav. Same stereo with or without Nav on the Titanium.
  6. Or go to the newer style without the tire guides. Newer ones use lasers to determine vehicle location.
  7. It's at the very far edge of the wheel. I will try to take a picture tomorrow.
  8. This winter I averaged 24-25 mpg driving 90% highway @ 60 mph. 2.0L AWD. So far this fill up now that it has warmed up outside I am getting 30 mpg. 9500 miles on the vehicle.
  9. A few weeks ago I got my first rim ding on the front driver side. I didn't think much of it, another vehicle probably kicked up a rock or something. Then about a week ago I got another one, same wheel, same spot. Then today when I went through the car wash it dawned on me. As I got home and inspected the rim I noticed another gouge. What I believe is happening is that the tire guide in the car wash is coming in contact with rim. Even though the tires have the curb protectors the rims are still being gouged. I believe there is another car wash in the area that has the laser sensors, so there is not a wheel guide. The paint on the wheels comes off very easily. I wish there was a slightly taller wheel on the market that fit the 19" wheels because I would definitely upgrade to them. Just a warning to everyone to watch out for the wheel guides in the car wash. Another option is to hit the guide with the inside of the wheel instead of the outside. This sure makes a good looking wheel look like crap in no time.
  10. If anyone wants the brown they should make sure they get a 2013 within the next few months because it is being replaced by a very nice "sunset" color.
  11. You could be right about that. At some point when I was researching the vehicle I remember reading something like that, either from the manual or somewhere else online. The vehicle does heat up faster than any other vehicle I have owned or rode in.
  12. My engine block heater came standard. I'm in Wisconsin so it might matter in what region you're from. I've never used it, but always have it parked in a garage. Co-worker uses his because his apartment does not have a garage.
  13. I'm guessing an engine block heater.
  14. I just found that picture on the same forum and was going to post it. Beat me to it. I like the sunset, but would like to see it in person. I settled for Tuxedo Black because there was not a color I really liked. White platinum Tricoat looked nice, but I don't like paying extra for paint. It makes it that much harder to touch up and match the colors in the case of a fender bender.
  15. The other changes I see are a new color "Sunset" and Bi-Xenon headlights (vs HID, naming convention change). Leather is now standard, but I like the partial leather trimmed seats much better IMO. If the Sunset color looks anything like the '13 Santa Fe Canyon Copper I would be a little disappointed. Beautiful color.
  16. Not really for me. I don't access the back row compartment much however.
  17. I have the full Weathertech package all the way around. I also had them on my 07 Civic Si, and have them on my wife's '10 Rav4. Fit couldn't be any better. Plus they look really nice.
  18. Colder air is denser air. This is why at increased elevation performance suffers. The engine will be more powerful at colder temperatures. The catch is that the computer will adjust many factors within the engine to warm the car up, etc etc. The engine oil is more viscous, which increases internal friction. Think where there are additional fluids... In the transmission. The same thing applies. Last, the rolling resistance of tires increases in cool weather. So combining everything together cold weather is a net negative on fuel economy. Summer and winter gas have a different Reid Vapor Pressure mandated by the EPA. Winter gas has more butane (cheaper), and it isn't sufficiently warm enough to evaporate it. It all comes down to air quality. The difference in energy is around 1.7%. For our vehicles this is a difference of half a mile per gallon. In the end, winter gas has a minimal impact on economy, powertrain losses are the major culprit.
  19. Titanium AWD: The worst I have gotten is 20.5 mpg and the best has been 26.5 mpg. Average so far in 5800 miles is 23 mpg. I really baby the car most of the time and drive mostly 55 mph two lane roads to and from work. I am a bit disappointed right now, but I will reserve final judgement until summer; I just bought the vehicle in October. I also almost never let the car idle to warm up except for the -15F mornings.
  20. The system should be smart enough to not turn off if on a phone call. That would be something very easy to be programmed.
  21. I was sitting in the car the other day waiting for my wife at the store. Had the vehicle in accessory mode when I received a call. Answered via Bluetooth and began talking for a while. Then the accessory mode turned itself off in the middle of the call, which did end it. How annoying. MFT 3.5.1.
  22. I had my phone connected for over two hours and the option never showed up. I will live without it I guess.
  23. I have to agree... My previous car was a '07 Honda Civic Si and it was impossible to keep up with 8thcivic.com.
  24. Why have a "concept" then? The thing doesn't even have door handles.
