  1. To my eyes, color match is perfect. The "gap" is a thin layer of sponge with very sticky tape. You make it even by applying pressure evenly when you stick it on. The instructions tell you to press the front down for a minute, then work your way to the back. My gap is pretty even but not exactly the same from front to back, and about 1/16". I was more concerned about having the fin perfectly aligned and centered than with the evenness of the gap -- my nightmare was that the thing would twist as I was pressing it into place. No worries, it is precisely aligned, and any unevenness of the gap is only visible with your chin on the roof.
  2. Sharkfin pics (for some reason they are rotated 90 degrees, don't know how to fix this)
  3. Save your buggy whip. You can always pry off the shark fin and re-attach the whip.
  4. Here are the pictures, but don't know how to rotate them... Yes, only via email, for Fusions. Agree, seems weird.
  5. I also got my shark fin before I got the car. When I could finally put them together, the color match was perfect -- for sterling grey. Good luck with matching the ruby red, but I bet you will be satisfied with the result. Note that the vertical surfaces of the shark fin reflect light differently than the flat horizontal surface of the roof, so they look different, but they look like they are the same color, just lit differently.
  6. Adaptive cruise does put on the brakes to slow down the car. But there is a minimum speed for adaptive cruise. When it reaches the minimum, the car makes a noise and adaptive cruise shuts off. So it does not bring the car to a full stop. You want to test this carefully, with your foot ready to move to the brake pedal... I wonder if this is different in the 2014? Something I read makes me think they might have changed adaptive cruise to be able to come to a full stop in the next MY. If so, I am hoping this will also be made available as a software upgrade to 2013 models.
  7. I'd like to get some more information about this. How precisely will the 2014 be different from the 2013? Is this a software change? Could it possibly someday be available as an upgrade for my 2013?
  8. Agree completely! Let's start a campaign to convince captinkirk to sell his Fusion.
  9. I put the VG shark fin on. It has no impact on GPS signal. Sirius also completely unaffected. FM reception is about 95% of what it was with the buggy whip. Don't know about AM cuz I never use it. For color code, JFGI. Google "ford color codes 2013".
  10. Sounds like you have reversed "HEV" and "PHEV" in your answer. The Energi PHEV has a bigger battery than the Hybrid HEV. The Energi stays in EV mode at higher speeds than the Hybrid. No, there is no water cooling.
  11. Nope, never pulls to the right. I can't steer with the foot pedals. Whether coasting or under moderate acceleration, it tracks straight ahead, except for a very slight drift to the left. I probably wouldn't even notice except for being extra observant to try to pin down the behavior I'm seeing under moderate braking. It's really only braking that has any effect at all.
  12. I have just started to notice that my FF Energi pulls slightly to the left when I brake. It's pretty subtle, so not sure if it has been doing this all along and I am finally noticing, or if it has just started to do it. About 800 miles on the car so far. When I brake moderately hard, the steering loads up as expected. But also there is a pull to the left. If I brake lightly with hands off the wheel (in a safe environment!), the car will drift into the left lane in about 5 seconds. I have also tried driving with hands off, with no braking, and there is a very slight tendency to drift to the left. I have never seen it drift to the right. Mind you, it mostly tracks very straight, except under moderate braking. Under severe braking, I have never noticed a pull, but then there is not much time for it to show up under severe braking. Has anyone else seen this? Any idea what could cause this?
  13. In my opinion, this would be worth the wait, if there is any additional wait. I love adaptive cruise! And I was impatient enough to order 2 cars to see which one came in first. (Ordered both with adaptive cruise...)
  14. The leather on my wheel feels very good to me. My previous car was an Audi, and I consider myself spoiled by it. The Ford has big shoes to fill. With a few small exceptions, it does.
  15. I really love adaptive cruise. I won't buy another car without it.
  16. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. A Fusion in the driveway is worth a lot of happiness.
  17. Maybe we should have background checks before you can use IE?
  18. Visual Garage claims FM reception will be 90 to 95% of what you were seeing. I can confirm. I had been paying attention to where the signal is weak for my favorite stations, and last night I drove those same roads. Reception was basically the same. HD fluttered in about the same places. Maybe it was a little bit worse, but 90-95% seems like an honest estimate. And no impact on GPS or Sirius. I am really thrilled with my VG shark fin. Makes the car look even more luxury. Highly recommended.
  19. I installed my shark fin today. Looks great. No discernible loss of radio signal.
  20. USAA offered 2.25%, but my dealer beat that by offering me 1.49%. This was for $33K for 48 months.
  21. Next week I'm going to have it detailed, clay-barred (thanks to this forum -- a month ago I didn't know what "claybar" meant) and treated with a 6-month sealant. Would it make sense to ask them to use the same sealant on the black plastic inside the car?
  22. ICE = internal combustion engine
