  1. This started happening to me A LOT. Took it in, and Ford said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. A couple months later I was back in for issues related to my Remote Start. I asked them to test the battery, and they confirmed that it wasn't holding a charge, or even charging properly. They replaced the battery and I haven't had the issue since. If this is happening to you often, then defintiely have them test your battery. You probably got a bum unit.
  2. Yep - same issue here. It drives me nuts. Took it in, and eveyrone acted like they couldn't hear it. Finally got one tech who said that he could hear it too. Hopped in to two other Fusions. All had that same issue. I think it's pretty obnoxious, personally. Not sure what or where the issue is.
  3. Honestly man, you're better off without one. I pre-ordered my FFH back in 2012 before they were even out, and it ended up taking forever because they had to install the remote start option. Flash forward to today, I've had the car for just over a year/12k miles and I've already had to have it towed to the dealer TWICE because of a no crank/no start. What does that have to do with the remote start? Well, some BS in there intereferes with the Fusion's start codes. The remote start feature eventually interferes with it, and your car becomes absolutely useless until someone at Ford resets your computer. This time, they told me they installed a BCM software update from Ford that came out about a month ago. We'll see what happens. But if my car shuts down again, that's three times in the shop without being fixed, making it grounds for a lemon law. Bottom line - don't bother.
  4. So last night my wife and I got out of a movie and our FFH wouldn't start. Unlocked the doors, and everything seemed to power on just fine, except it refused to give me the little green good-to-go sign. Instead, I was stuck with a yellow engine light. I tried it a few times and got an error that I had exceeded the crank allowance. Long story short, I called Ford's roadside assistance, and they sent a guy to jump it (even though everything in the car powered up). No dice. Had to return in the morning to have it towed to the dealer whose service department is closed. This whole ordeal has been a major headache, and with all the other little issues I've had with this car, I'm kind of wishing I had waited for a 2014. I'll let you all know what the haps is when I get an update from the service team.
  5. Why don't I ever think to look in the manual? I'm on a Hybrid, but I'm sure it's the same. Thanks.
  6. Are BOTH of the mirrors supposed to auto-dim? When it gets dark out, my driver's side and rear view both dim automatically. But my passenger just remains as it always does. Is that supposed to be an auto-dim mirror also?
  7. Mine is the opposite. The surround has quite a pleasant tone to it, but the dash speaker (which I believe is a backup if MFT doesn't play it) has a very harsh tone. My issue has since disappeared, but who knows if it'll be back.
  8. I wouldn't worry too much. That's a 46.5mpg round trip. Sounds awfully close to a certain vehicle's estimates.
  9. did you confirm this? Or are you just pointing out what anybody who actually has this problem can readily observe? (definitely not relays)
  10. I'm now wondering if this has something to do with my MFT unit. The sound started around the same time as I started getting the POWER SAVING MODE message on my MFT.
  11. Thanks for the heads up. Glad to know the battery - while maybe not functioning properly, is at least correct.
  12. I started getting this message about a week ago. Every time I drive the vehicle, and it doesn't seem to matter how long/far I drive it, as soon as I stop and pull the key, it goes into power saving mode and shuts off the music. I checked my battery, and I too have the BXT-99R-390. I'll add this to my slew of issues I've had with my Fusion. It's such a shame, because I absolutely LOVE the car, but I've had so many damn bugs with it. This is the latest. Hopefully I can get this, the speaker static, the backup chime audio issue, the acceleration/deceleration crack all solved in one fell swoop. Also worth noting that occasionally I have to reset the one-touch ups. So maybe this lends additional credence to that being a battery issue.
  13. I get that it needs to do that - but I would think it would do it when you first start your vehicle. Seems silly to do that in the middle of a drive, especially one at high speeds.
  14. I'm really starting to get fed up with this annoying little quirks in the car. I love my car. But there's just so many glitches in its tech and QA that it's really beginning to annoy me. The most recent was as I was driving - on the freeway - my MFT screen went blank. I couldn't do anything on it, but I could still hear my music playing. Then the screen turned off completely and the music shut off. Next thing you know I get a 'SYNC' logo, and it says it's performing scheduled maintenance! It took several minutes to re-boot. I can't even imagine if I had been in a strange place and was relying on the nav. Or in the middle of an important phone call. I did pull out my cell phone and record it to document it. I have the video, and I'll upload that to YT soon. Unbelievable.
  15. According to the other forum - the guy there took it in, and it's currently a 'known issue' with Ford. They told their service department not to do anything further with the car until they determine what the fix is.
  16. Nope - the sound is the same. It's the door ajar sound, and the reverse sensing beeps. It's not a HUGE deal, but it's frustrating to hear it change from time to time. Just a reminder that the vehicle is not functioning s it's supposed to.
  17. Anyone else experience this? The sound quality on my reverse system, and my open door alert, totally changed. Used to have a soft sound to it. Now it beep very loudly in a harsh tone, and seems to come only from a speaker in the dash area. Really odd. No idea what would have caused the audio quality change in it.
  18. Barsoom - did you see the other thread about the one-touch up issues? I had that same problem, and pushing and holding (see the other thread for more info) fixed that for me. Also, is there a 5k checkup? I think I recall seeing in the manual that my first scheduled maintenance wasn't until 10k miles (that includes oil change). Lastly - I'll have to check on the ICE rate. I do think that it's a little low. I suspect that with continued work by Ford on the engine, they're going to increase it's efficiency. I wouldn't be surprised to see a TRUE 50mpg Fusion in the next couple of years. For what it's worth, I can tell you is that since taking the car over from my wife- at about 1500 miles, I've been hitting about 44mpg average for the last 300 miles, which is a fairly 50/50 city/highway split. I think some is the break-in period wearing off, and some is definitely my driving style. I aim for efficiency, she just drives.
  19. I turn on my car, and by the time I've disengaged the e-brake and put it in drive, it's ready to go.
  20. Interesting. Thanks for the link. I'm really wondering if it's something that needs to be addressed. Hopefully some of the other members on here can confirm if they have the CLICK/CRACK sound when they accelerate and brake. Actually, if they can confirm they don't have it either, that my help me figure out just how widespread the problem is.
  21. I usually drive with the windows up because the weather had been sporadic. It's gotten nice lately, so I've been cruising with the windows down, and I noticed a clicking noise when I start braking, and then again when I start accelerating. I assume it's the regenerative breaking system going into effect, and then disengaging. Is the loud, audible CLICK sound normal?
  22. The weather last week was a little bit warmer. I'm in LA, so there's not too much fluctuation. So far I'll chalk it up to possibly better gas blend, and to the weather. We'll see if it holds up.
  23. So my wife has been driving our Hybrid pretty much since we got it, and she's been averaging about 34 mpg pretty steadily. The last couple days, he normal commute has suddenly hit about 38mpg average. Not sure what the cause of it is. It kicked in mid-tank, so I not it's not a different fuel. Very strange. Typically, I've been getting about 5mpg better than her when I drive, so I'll see if it translates to a 43mpg for me. If it does, I think I'll get over my MPG annoyance factor I've had so far. Mileage was about 1400.
  24. It's actually a biggest hits album for a Norteno (squiggly N) band called Relampagos Del Norte. Relampago loosely translates to lightning.
