  1. What the hell! You ordered over a month later than me and mine still isn't here! Sorry had to rant...
  2. I think the big thing is that you can not get low resistant tires in 19s. Also the added weight will affect your gas mileage. The big thing you will miss from the Ti model is the better taillights... -Keith
  3. The upgraded wheels on the hybrid supposedly come with different non-LR tires on it and I have a feeling that may cause some of the MPG woes people are having. These tires had the best results: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Energy+Saver+A/S&partnum=265TR7ESAS and have a 60k mile warranty. People complain about the lack of grip but they are buying LOW RESISTANCE tires!
  4. I really don't like the stock hybrid wheels (keep them for winter) so I have been looking at wheels. Not sure on the offsets we need yet or the stock wheel weight so my choices may change but so far I am liking the Enkei wheels: http://www.enkei.com/tuning.shtml Raijin's are around 20lbs for the 18 I think. Will be interested in the MAT wheel weights when they come available as they are supposed to be lighter. With the hybrid I want a light wheel / tire combo. I am probably sticking with 18 since you can't get low rolling resistant tires in 19s. I would love to get a set of nice forged rims (DPE,iForged, etc) but the price is a little too steep. -Keith
  5. I ordered both the fusion and the C-Max brochure. I am pretty sure my coupon came from the c-max as that is the only brochure I have got so far. I ordered a fusion one first and nothing came so I ordered both the second time.
  6. It does look really great! Not saying you should do it, just wondering since you are blacking out the rest of the car. I am getting the deep impact blue and since it will have silver rims on it I was thinking of making the trim more silver so it would match. Haven't seen anyone do the scotchbrite thing yet... -Keith
  7. Tinted head and tail lights! Awesome! Are you going to black out the chrome accents? I am debating about doing that when I finally get my car. Was thinking of scotchbriting them so they would be less shiny... -Keith
  8. Results of ethanol vary but I have seen various people who have tracked their car report 10-20% loss of mpg. 10% minimum. -Keith
  9. I am a current Hyundia owner and my 40mpg elantra gets 32mpg tops on the highway. It used to get 36 until they reprogrammed the ECU. I would not recommend a Hyundia to anyone...
  10. Ford announced api support for android and iOS for Sync. Touch not included! http://www.tomshardware.com/picturestory/616-ces-2013-automotive-technology.html -Keith
  11. It took about 5 days I think. I ordered both the fusion hybrid and the cmaxx.. Didn't get it the first time...
  12. I got one in email as well! Whoop! -Keith
  13. 37mpg for first fill up seems pretty good! Keep us informed on prolonged mileage! -Keith
  14. Also remember that with winter mix gas you are going to get a lot less MPG on either, but 10% (typical loss of mpg due to ethanol) of 47 is almost 5 mpg and 10% of 25 is only 2.5... -Keith
  15. How are you guys getting all your eta info? My dealer has been less than forthcoming...
  16. I actually don't mind waiting. As long as my trade in value remains the same it is all good. If ford needs a little extra time to make sure everything is good I will give it to them. We are all waiting for one of the most anticipated cars in recent memory. I would rather drive my old Hyundai through the snow than my brand new Fusion... -Keith
  17. How much did you pay on the x-plan?
  18. Anybody know the weight of the stock 17" wheel? I am getting the hybrid and definitely don't want to go with a heavier wheel. -Keith
  19. Basically I was saying that you can "tune" a traditional car (with gears) to be optimum at the test mph and in a real world situation it would suffer because you go 20mph faster on the highway... Again with a CVT I am sure it is a completely different story... -Keith
  20. All I was saying is that the epa is not a real world test if the hiway speed is 48mph. I don't expect to get 47mpg because I drive faster. I know the laws of physics but you can not tell me that a car that is geared to perform well at 48mph is going to do as well as a car geared to cruise at 70mph when going 70. I car spinning at 2000rpm is going to get way better mileage than one at 4000. Now the fusions have a CVT so it will be different but who knows what the top ratio ends up being? And companies do do some shady stuff for their gas mileage. I own an elantra. Tires wore out at 28k miles because they were so thin. When I got the car I got (what I) expected mpg. Then they flashed the ecu and my mileage dropped by 15-20%. Wonder which program the epa test was on? Wonder how much damage the original program did so it could run so lean? I expect to get about 40mpg. Any more would be gravy... -Keith
  21. Oh yeah and average speed of highway is 48.3 with a max of 60. Don't know how many people drive 48mph on the highway but I don't! They have a high speed test but I don't know if that contributes to the stated highway mileage. I am betting that car makers will gear a car based on the 60mph so it suffers when you go faster... -Keith
  22. One thing to realize is that most people do not let their cars warm up. I notice a huge difference in MPG when my car is not allowed to warm up. The EPA test for city is a 31.2 minute test. It warms up for 5.6 minutes (from cold)! Now it states that it has different testing for hybrids but take a look. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml -Keith
  23. One thing I would like to see on there would be driving conditions. Rain and snow always kills my mileage... -Keith
  24. I would probably go insane with sat radio. Don't know about the system in the Fusion but in my Elantra it is pretty good. I only have about 5-6 stations I really listen to but I have to commute through mountains in PA and there is nothing but country and religious stations on regular FM. I get the Mostly Music package and it is $10 a month. I really wanted the comedy stations but you only get that in the everything package and that is $15 a month. -Keith
