  1. I have the S, so no sync, but my radio has been doing the exact same thing since I bought the car last October. It has happened 5 times now. Each time it will correct sometime later that day. I have had it in a couple times and there are no codes. Maybe the ones with sync do a better job providing codes. My dealers has been logging each time now I have the problem and is only a couple miles from my house. So I am trying to get it in while I am out and having the issue.
  2. Don't feel bad about not noticing the rear wiper it took my about 6000 miles to notice as well.
  3. I have the 2.5L and the recommended oil change interval in it is 10000 miles or earlier if the the monitor alerts you. I keep getting these postcards from the dealer telling me it time due to 3K mile, 5K miles/etc. I called the dealer when I got the first one and they told me that is computer automated cause they still service many cars that haven't gone to the new intervals yet. They told me NOT to bring mine in until the monitor goes off and that the 2.5L came with all synthetic from the factory and all synthetic is recommended for that engine. I am at 5600 right now, really feels weird to not be taking it in, but I am going to go with it or I will just go when they send me a coupon sometime after I hit about 7000, which they will cause I get them regularly, and it is easy for me to do so. I also asked my normal mechanic about about it and he also told me to just do whatever the monitor said since its all synthetic and the engines today are just so different and stop worrying about it... Just information, certainly no recommendation. If I ride it out till the monitor comes on I will report what mileage that was....
  4. This thread is kind of funny to me. I have been around awhile and have seen lots of changes in auto evolution. I remember when we started getting electric windows and locks. Electronic ignition then other electronic parts and starting to integrate computers. People had all kinds of problems with these things and lots of complaints discussions just like we are having now about software glitches. Bottom line is that cars are like space ships now compared to the all mechanical days. There have been struggles with the newer technologies for sure and I've seen this over and over like some of the stuff we're seeing again now. Cars were really easy to work on but you sure better like working on them cause that is what was required to keep them going. Everybody HAD to do it or have a good friend to do it. Sure there are issues and probably always will be, not making excuses for them, just reporting history. Now except for the few that will always like to work on cars, people want to just drive them and without issues and I can tell you compared to previous generations of autos, they now do perform like that for most people. I used to live in my garage, with lots of auto tools under my car, now I park my car in my woodworking shop and sure we have "bugs" now.
  5. I'm sure you already know this, but keep in mind all dealers are different. Some have good service shops and some are terrible. No excuse for your treatment no matter the issue. If you have other Ford dealers in your area you may want to try out their service shops. You don't have to take it for service where you bought it, they have to honor the ford warranty and often times are very glad to take your service from a competitive dealer in their area. I know this isn't always an option to have multiple dealers around.
  6. I have been experiencing this same issue. I know there was no ice cause car was parked in garage. Only happens when its cold out. Mine goes down fast enough. Going up is really slow and once actually stopped half way up. Stopped there until I grabbed it and pulled on it to get it started again and then it finished going up. When its warmer out, goes up and down at same speed. Kind of weird. Will report it when I go in for first oil change or if it gets worse before then.
  7. great idea. I will do that next time it happens.
  8. My escape has a standard radio, no sync, etc. Twice now when I get into the car the radio just has dashes across the screen. Radio won't work, CD won't read tracks and line in aux doesn't work. Both times I was driving car with it working. Stopped for a few minutes and it wasn't working when I got back in. It doesn't work the whole rest of that drive. Both times after car sits parked for awhile, it is working again as if nothing happened. Talked to service dept they don't think there is anything they can do till its not working long enough for me to get it there not working. I guess I thought I would post just in case anybody else has such an issue. If I get it figured out at some point, I will update. Larry
  9. I have had that issue as well since I got mine in certain weather situations. I have manual climate controls. I figured out that if I turned the AC button during these times that it clears immediately and stays clear. Larry
  10. Hi. I am new around here. Sorry for all of you with the recalls, that is never an easy thing to deal with both practically as well as how you feel about your new vehicle. I have had my escape for about a month, my previous focus got totaled. Was looking to get a new focus but decided to move up to an escape. I went with the base model for a couple reasons, price of course but just as important to me was that it had the 2.5L engine that has been around so I felt like it was a compromise on a new car line in its first year out. So far glad I made that decision. But really just wanted to introduce myself and to tell all you 1.6 owners I understand your feelings. I am sure they will get it worked out and you will still end up loving your car. Hopefully this is the last recall for all of us.
