  1. A local dealer provided a copy of the 2015 Fusion Hybrid Order Guide. There are quite a few changes. More details about the changes can be found at: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/8073-my2015-fusion-production-dates MY2015 Fusion Hybrid Order Guide.pdf
  2. Ask cyberdman to track your order over in that section of the Forum.
  3. This recall affects very few cars considering how many Ford has made.
  4. Follow the procedure outlined in your Owner's Manual for issue resolution. Ford has a process and it's defined in the OM. FFH owners who have had issues have had the most success when they follow the Ford-specified process rather than just hiring a lawyer and suing. Sorry to hear abouy your issues. I hope that you get resolution.
  5. Have you gotten Ashley involved over on the FFH Forum? She has done a great job of getting worthless dealer service departments motivated to fix customer issues. Perhaps the dealer did a bad job installing the cracking noise fix and then caused a problem. It sounds like metal on metal. Does it happen going both forward and backward? Does it happen when the steering wheel is turned as well as straight?
  6. Wow! BC taxes are steep. I guess that's the price for the beauty and the health insurance...I have family on Vancouver island and love visiting BC, I think it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. My wife lived in Abbotsford, BC for a few years while growing up and loves BC too. If we ever move to Canada we would move to BC. Are taxes lower in Ontario where your tax savings would be less than the cost of driving the car across Canada? I am a big fan of hybrids, and here is part of how they can make financial sense. The link to the full article is in the quote. I'm also a big fan of hybrids because they're the least polluting cars overall. Electric cars are cleaner if you have a clean electric grid, but not if you have a coal powered grid like we do in Minnesota. Anyhow...I just always like to take the opportunity to encourage people to look at hybrids. Here are some of the benefits (both cost benefits and driving experience benefits) I often tout: No complicated automatic, belt-driven CVT or manual transmission & clutch to break/wear out or have to change fluid in - the eCVT (not like a regular CVT at all) is an elegantly simple design (something I'm sure you'd appreciate as an engineering grad) Silence at stop lights with the ICE off Silence much of the time in city driving because the ICE is off Perfectly smooth acceleration with no transmission shifts Smooth sounding acceleration with no changes in engine loudness from RPM increasing & decreasing as the transmission shifts Perfectly smooth braking with the Generator doing most of the work until the brake pads kick in at low speeds (compared to brake pads on conventional cars where the stopping power at the same level of pedal pressure changes over the life of the pads) Hybrids have no starter to wear out There are no belts or parasitic loads Regen braking results in very low brake wear (brake pads/rotors often last 150,000+ miles) The engine runs less than 100% of the time (usually about 40-60%) resulting in longer engine life and less oil changes Spark plugs last for 120,000 miles or more 40+ MPG year round average The Fusion is an excellent car and I know you'll enjoy it because all Fusion models are incredibly comfortable and well designed. We had the chance to drive a Fusion Titanium (with a lot more features than our car) one time while having some warranty work done, and while it was very nice, the driving experience just doesn't compare to the refinement of driving a hybrid.
  7. The Fusion Hybrid S starts at $28,699 in Canada, I don't know how much the Provincial Sales Tax is in BC, but I know that Canadian taxes are very high. I also commend you for wanting to avoid debt. My wife and I are in our mid-20s and the only debt we have is what's left on our loan from our FFH. We financed less than half of the purchase cost though, so we don't owe a lot and will have it paid off in less than 2 years.
  8. If you want to special order, you could find a dealer in Vancouver now online and place your order now so that your new car will be waiting for you when you arrive in BC. I'd also highly recommend a hybrid or Energi Fusion as well. BC is rather electric friendly and has a great climate for hybrids.
  9. Does anyone know of any discount codes for NuShield? The dealer gave us one with our car with a Ford logo on it. It leaves tons of dust behind on the screen. If you use it you also need a can on compressed air handy to blow the dust out of the corners lol
  10. Check out the Fusion Hybrid Forum for more info about Job 1 cars...some owners have had no issues, others have had lots. Some Job 1 cars have been underperformers from an MPG perspective. Take this car for a test drive on whatever your normal commute is to see what kind of MPGs you get. Hopefully it isn't one of the underperformers... 10/22/12 is one of the early, early FFH builds. What kind of title does this vehicle have since it was bought back by Ford? You have to remember that the $6-7k less for this vehicle is because: 1) it's a 2013. 2) it has a branded title. 3) because it has 5k miles. What would a 2014 be worth after 5k miles? Probably not much more than $27k on trade in. You can probably negotiate the price lower. If it's a buyback vehicle, who is selling it? Is it being sold direct by Ford? How did you find it? How did the dealer get it? The more info you can share the more we can help. I would encourage you to check out the Fusion Hybrid Forum too...you'll get more response over there than here.
  11. Many other owners have received info from the vehicle visibility reports. It is very strange that you're told that you can't get that info... Be glad that Ford at least allows you to special order. Before we bought our FFH we were considering the Camry Hybrid as well. A local dealer had one with the options we wanted but not the color we wanted. We asked if we could special order one with the exact options we wanted and were told that Toyota doesn't allow that. Their only option was to get one via dealer trade. I said, "What if we don't want a car that has a bunch of miles on it from being driven between dealers?" And their response was, "There's nothing else we can do. Toyota doesn't do special orders." Be glad that Ford will do special orders and that there are Ford employees who'll track vehicles for buyers on their own time. You mention that you own two GM vehicles. What is GM's system like for special ordering a car and order tracking? Does GM have an online portal where the public can go to track orders? Another thing Ford does is allow you to see the window sticker for any Ford vehicle online. I haven't seen other manufacturers do this. The Ford system isn't perfect, but it seems to be a lot more customer friendly than what other big OEMs do. I encourage you to check out the Fusion Hybrid Forum too since you're getting a FFH.
  12. Perhaps the issue is with BOF. I tried pulling up your post on two different computers and with different browsers and I still don't see a working pic anywhere. On your screen does the pic appear? You could also PM me the photobucket link.
  13. Still no pic...can you post through Photobucket or something?
  14. So there's no way to tell the difference when looking at the lens while not lit up? Drat...that makes it hard to tell online or from a junkyard... The pic also doesn't show up on my computer. It shows with the little "x" that is doesn't work.
  15. There are lots of Fusion tail lights available online from cars that have been wrecked. However, I need a way to confirm that the tail lights really are Titanium tail lights. Every single posting on eBay indicates that the tail lights fit both the SE and the Titanium. Can you see the difference visually when looking at the lens when not illuminated? Most eBay sellers have not bothered to list the part # of the lens they're selling. It would be easier to look at pics and verify than sending each one a message to ask.
  16. Can you see the difference when looking at the tail lights when not illuminated?
  17. Has anyone seen Ti lights end up in a junkyard? I'd do this swap if the price of the Ti lights was $100 or so more than I could sell the SE lights for, but not beyond that.
  18. Thanks for the pics. I definitely wouldn't choose it either!
  19. It is always on. The FFH is incredibly quiet inside.
  20. Tuxedo Black is our favorite, since that's what we have. While my wife likes the black because she thinks it makes the FFH look more sporty & expensive, I like the Sterling Gray because I think it makes the car look elegant. The Ruby Red is a great color that we considered, but it just looks flashy. I like the elegance of the Sterling Gray. The Fusion looks great in any color so I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever color you end up with.
  21. The 2013 SE with luxury package has a 4-way power passenger seat. This error in the order guide was never corrected. I wouldn't count on the 2014 SE Luxury Package as having the Titanium taillights because the order guide has been proven inaccurate in the past. You could try asking your question on the Fusion Hybrid Forum too. There are a few owners who have already picked up 2014 FFHs and possibly one of them could give you a definite answer based on their car.
  22. Awesome! I wish Minnesota had such a refund...
  23. I wish we could have cool lights like this in the US. Unfortunately, the NHTSA doesn't allow them. These lights are likely actually safer than traditional lights, but the rules of the NHTSA are old and haven't been updated to reflect these new technologies.
  24. The fine print doesn't expressly exclude leases, but nothing references that it is valid on leases either...has anyone successfully used a Private Cash $750 coupon on a lease? I tried Googling information about this and was surprised that no one appears to have asked this before. Thanks!
