  1. I think it will depend on the cost. I also wonder how many sales it will take away from the Ram EcoDiesel
  2. FWIW, apparently anything that's been floated out there is just speculation, and nothing has been decided as far as where people will be going to.
  3. Because they would just dump the money into Cadillac anyway, so take the good press and run with it
  4. Well, nice working with y'all. I start looking for a new job after work
  5. Well that's interesting. I bet it goes by seniority and the bottom 100 get laid off
  6. Because she's probably too busy driving it to stop for a picture!
  7. Also, thank you ford for fucking with our holiday pay and making it very difficult/impossible to claim unemployment for last week
  8. huh? dafuq does Hitler have to do with it?
  9. That will change when a 3rd shift is eventually (and at this rate, inevitably) added. I'm not saying TC will ever be moved there, but it's certainly more likely than Louisville, and probably more likely than Mexico. Well that's useful knowledge, unfortunately has no bearing here. We all know Louisville is at full capacity right now.
  10. I doubt we will hear anything concrete as far as what the future holds until Memorial Day at earliest.
  11. Someone was asking earlier, I don't know who, how many Tier 2 are at MAP there are 839 in Final and 96 in Body/Stamping
  12. wooooooow that's the lamest piece of BS i've ever heard, but then again, its more than i've ever gotten out of anyone. usually they duck the question completely or the stock response of "I know"
  13. ok didn't realize that, but it doesn't surprise me either.
  14. You are missing the point. You're acting like you're beliefs are being attacked when they simply aren't.
  15. There was an idea brought up to me by a friend that seemed like a good idea. Bring in part time temps while these clowns who can't show up are serving their suspension time, but instead of giving them x amount of consecutive days off, give them 2 days off at at time while they train their potential replacement the 2 days they are supposed to show up. Send them a message that if they miss more time, their replacement is already there.
  16. I'm not talking about you specifically in that instance, I'm generalizing on that point. My point to you was that those who you are arguing with aren't trying to make you hate wagons, but to explain to the rest of the wagon fan club why they aren't likely to get wagons again despite their love for them. Nobody here is trying to get anyone to reverse their likes and dislikes, you're just reading into it that way.
  17. Well, the people who have no work ethic and no self respect at least. Then there's people like me who hasn't missed a day since I've been here, I've been late twice (once because I overslept my alarm on a Sunday day shift, and once due to a flat tire) and I feel like I'm the only one, at least in my age group.
  18. I know of 1 that was going to get fired for #10 but ultimately was given a warning because the guy in labor pulled up the wrong file from someone with a similar name.
  19. How about the people that have 11, 12, 13 AWOLS on their record? Its totally inexcusable.
  20. Friday and Saturday? Dream on. It was damn near every day from profit sharing day all the way through to damn near Halloween. It just so happens that Friday and (especially) Saturday were the worst days. The only day i can excuse it was that Monday in August when there was flooding all over the place. I guarantee it will only get worse until the end of C-Crew.
  21. No, I think you're missing the point. Its because the people that like wagons are such a small number compared to those that don't want one that it makes for a terrible business case, and for a terrible ROI. Just look at Cadillac for an example of why you shouldn't build cars that people don't want. They sit around for months on end and wind up losing money just to get rid of them. Go ahead and like wagons all you want, just don't be upset that Ford isn't in the business of losing money.
  22. That's exactly why they aren't going to move anything else there for a while. I cant tell if that's sarcasm or not Sure, it was that too, but it was a combination of both factors. why doesn't building TC along side of the Transit make sense? Like i said before, its less time and money invested and they could do it like they do in Flat Rock with the Fusion, where its strictly overflow production. That way they don't take too many resources away from Transit.
  23. True, however its going to take a LOT of work for them to be built in Mexico with an assembly line that has clearances for the Fiesta. I've never been there (obviously) but one would think that it's not as simple as running an Escape body down that line. I'm sure they would have to redesign some parts of it to have enough clearances for it. Again, it's definitely capably of building the Escape and MKC, but like I've said time and time again, there's not enough room there on the line for the extra parts. I would know, I work there (for now) Which is why it took so long to move production from Turkey to Spain. And why it's not likely going to ever be built in Mexico. If anything Kansas City alongside the full size Transit is the most likely candidate if extra production is needed. Less work, downtime and $$ invested in redesigning a whole plant.
  24. Because C cars just aren't moving right now. GM is cutting production of the sonic and spark in Lake Orion, and Ford is supposedly eliminating a shift at MAP in a couple of months. If they are cutting a shift at MAP for the Focus which is still selling 20,000 a month, what makes you think that they would be expanding Cuactitlian when Fiesta inventory levels are already stupidly high at 20,000 cars and it's not even hitting 5,000 a month right now?
