  1. Thanks @twintornados, I didn't see your reply until just a little bit ago. Sorry for the delay. I appreciate your input, though. Well, an update: I was gifted an 18" (23" total length) Cherry Bomb Glasspack from a member of my church this past Wednesday. I got it installed with a 12" turndown coming out of it. In addition to this forum, I had posted this question to the guys at f150forum.com and they were able to help me out. Pictures of the final outcome, and the progress leading up to it are in thread. https://www.f150forum.com/f4/exhaust-setup-muffler-options-2005-f-150-4-6l-455398/ Thanks!
  2. This is gonna be interesting, especially where the pricing is gonna push towards.
  3. Hi guys. I had posted this question in one of my previous threads, but I thought a new topic would be better for a response. I recently removed the OEM factory muffler assembly. I didn't cut it, so I could re-install it again if I want. I have an 8' bed with the regular cab. The extension pipe that goes behind the cab is there, as well as the cats. Is there anything I should be aware of running this setup for long term? Its definitely a lot louder and more obnoxious at times, but at certain RPM's it sounds really good for just a muffler delete. I'm looking into getting a new muffler for it, but I'm unsure of which one to get. I have a lot of raw sound right now without the muffler, so I'd want something that's loud outside yet refined, and still quiet in the cab. Any good ideas out there? Right now, I'm kinda interested in the Borla XR-1, or the Flowmaster Super 40, Super 44, or Super 10. Any other ones you guys recommend? Once I do get one, I plan on installing a turndown to let it echo off the pavement. Also, other than the Super 10 where you have to weld it in place, are the others I listed need to welded also? Or can they just bolt in place of the OEM muffler? I'm curious to know if this setup I have now is ok to run long term? I don't want to put the factory exhaust back on unless I have to, as it was a pain to remove. Thanks!
  4. Hey guys, sorry I'm a little late on an update. Thanks for the replies, greatly appreciated. The one thing I did end up doing shortly after I posted this was remove the OEM factory muffler assembly. I didn't cut it, so I could re-install it again if I want. I have an 8' bed with the regular cab. The extension pipe that goes behind the cab is there, as well as the cats. Is there anything I should be aware of running this setup for long term? 5. Not sure if this is the best place to post this (mods, it can be moved to the powertrain section if need be) I have a 2005 F-150 XL with the Triton 4.6L, 3.55 rear axle, only mod I've done to it engine-wise is the intake silencer removal (makes a slight whistle at times now, not quite like a turbo, though). What's the best way to increase torque and horsepower output? I'm aware that a tuner would help a lot, but I've never messed with any of that in person, but I've read up a little on the Edge Evolution 15051..What's the best one for this engine? Where's the best place for deals on a good one? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
  6. This is my first post..Does know where I could I find a pdf version of the 2005 F-150 eSourcebook that dealers used? I know they have the whole entire binded book on eBay for like $44, but I'd like a pdf version if possible. I downloaded the 2006 model year book from Hiller Ford's website a few years ago and still have it, but they never had the 2005 version available in pdf form, just a generic html frame page. Its also this way with the 2004 models as well. I have a 2005 XL, and I'm interested to see what the eSourcebook lists about the 2005 F-150 models. I'm also curious about the 2004 models too. Thanks!
