  1. 7.3 with 3.55 gears. I have 4,500 miles on mine, no towing yet. My mileage depends on the terrain, speed, and drive mode. Flat, level, no wind, in eco mode, 240 mile round trip @ 75 MPH I averaged 16.5 MPG. Same drive in normal mode averaged 14.5 MPG. 620 mile round trip, lots of up and down at 80 MPH in eco mode 14 MPG. Same drive in normal mode averaged 13 MPG. Eco seemed to have to downshift more on the uphill climbs. Around town (picture small town with a stop sign or light every two blocks) sucks. In eco I get somewhere around 10, closer to 8.5-9 in normal. Normal mode is much more fun to drive, much better throttle response, but eco has its place especially on the interstate and in heavier traffic in the city. Normal in stop and go traffic in the city makes for a very jerky ride. Eco seems to smooth that out. Fortunately most of my windshield time is highway.
  2. Sorry, I've been offline for a while. They stole a Nebo flashlight (left a $1,000 pair of binoculars right next to it). They also pulled out the owners manual. Did the same in the truck next to me. Police said they are after the card with the master door code because it can't be overwritten. Fortunately I had taken mine out. It happened at the Holiday Inn Express on University Heights by the FBI headquarters 5:30 in the afternoon (broad daylight). @iuec135elevator asked about the horn/alarm. It happened literally 1 minute after we arrived. We grabbed our bags and went in to check in. As i stepped up to the front desk, I heard the alarm. Never dreaming my truck had been broken into, I assumed I must have hit the panic button on my fob, and being the courteous type, not wanting to disturb other guests, I stepped to the front door, and hit the button to kill the alarm. Never actually looked at the truck. I am sure the thieves appreciated my not wanting to disturb others.
  3. So after visits with police, and my local body shop, I have a much better understanding of the issue. Inside the door handle there are three nylon clips that hold the cylinder in place. Pull out the handle, apply vice grips and a good solid twist and snap, ten seconds and they’re in. Ford trucks are a target in SA because they’re so damn easy. Solution? Passenger handles are reversible to drivers side but have no cylinder. Yes they can still break the windows but I don’t want to be a target just cuz it’s so damn simple. Only challenge is if your battery completely dies you can’t get in. Working on engineering some leads that run down to the frame so I can connect jumper cables without the hood open.
  4. So, after waiting not so patiently for my 22 super duty, i finally received it after 9 months. Don’t even have the dealer tags off it and a low life piece of trash broke into it on a trip to San Antonio. Does anyone have insight on a high quality door handle/locking mechanism to install to at least make it harder for these scum sucking low life pieces of trash to get in? In talking to the cops, apparently Ford Super Duty and F-150’s are favorite targets because Ford puts a cheap locking mechanism that is ridiculously easy to defeat. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
  5. Happened this weekend. We were headed out of town Easter weekend, and my truck, which I’ve been waiting 9 months for shows up Thursday afternoon. The dealer is a friend so I ask if there’s any way I can get it by that evening so we can take it on our trip. He says he can’t get all the paperwork completed (small dealership) but if I can get insurance on it I can take it and we’ll do the paperwork Monday. Done! Long, thoroughly enjoyable trip to the coast and back, I go back to the dealership today to sign. The paperwork guy puts the deal sheet in front of me. I take one look and say no way I’m paying that price for a demo! He’s stammering and saying “But sir, this truck was custom ordered for you! It’s brand new from the factory!” I reply “BS, that truck has a 1000 miles on it, just go look.” The dealer is standing behind this poor guy trying not to pi$$ himself he’s laughing so hard. I’ve been waiting 9 month, I’m entitled to a little fun, right?
  6. 8 months to the day! Old Blue is really on fire. Excited to see progress but honestly PO’d that it’s taken this long, and that I won’t get the truck I ordered in order to avoid commodity restraints and get it built! However, you can take this as proof, if you complain and whine long enough…it doesn’t make a bit of difference. Ford is going to build it when they get ready and not a minute sooner.
  7. Ordered July 29. Dropped bed cover & liner plus gooseneck hitch earlier this month, it was scheduled two days later. ?
  8. Same here. I would be more excited if I hadn’t already waited 6 months and had to drop bed liner, bed cover, & gooseneck hitch to finally get the damn thing built.
  9. Finally!!! After 22 weeks on the waiting list (ordered July 29th), I finally got tired of gently nudging my dealer, and went more for the direct shove approach. Told them to either drop the three items I suspected were holding up my order, or I would go place one someplace else. Original order is 250 crew, lariat value, 4x4, 7.3, 3.55 locker, carpet delete, 5th wheel/gooseneck prep and gooseneck hitch, bed liner, bed cover. Tuesday they changed the order dropping the hitch/hitch prep, bed liner, and bed cover. I was told I would lose the priority code 2 that I had, and would be back to a priority code 10. That was two days ago, and miracle of miracles, angels sang this morning as I opened my email. Scheduled for February 28th. It is a mix or emotion between elation that my truck is finally scheduled, and pissed that its going to wind up being almost 8 months by the time i get my truck, assuming there are no other hang ups along the way.
  10. Ok, I know I’m not the only one but I’m so freaking tired of seeing people who ordered two/three months after me getting their trucks, and don’t get me wrong, I don’t don’t blame them. I BLAME FORD MOTOR COMPANY!!!! WTF Ford?!?!?! For crying out loud get it together! I swear to god at this point I’m convinced I’m being punished because I chose the carpet delete. I swear I’ll pay the $50 if it’ll get me scheduled!!!! Confirmed 7/27. And for those even farther behind than me, I know, you’ve got even more right to be pi$$ed! Btw, not scheduled yet!
  11. Hi all, New member, beeen lurking for a while, finally decided to join the party. Ordered a 250 on July 29th, confirmed that day. Lariat, 4x4 CC short bed, Oxford White, Baja tan, 7.3. Last new truck was 2014. Didn’t anticipate this but I am really getting excited about it, and can’t do a thing about it except obsessively surf the forums ?
