  1. Yes I have been told that by Ford and the dealer a few weeks after I converted my order over to a 23. Unfortunately the price increase on my build went up almost $8K and I have to wait for Job 02. It's getting tougher to wait for the truck originally ordered in December 2021.
  2. Pretty much the same price if you order it direct from the maker but you get free install and shipping. - https://retrax.com/retraxpro-xr/2022/ford/f-250-super-duty
  3. Yep I agree. I was really asking for your opinion on how Ford *could* fix incompetent dealership issues without making customers start over with another dealer.
  4. Unfortunately I do not think your experiences are typical. In the past, incompetent dealers were masked by a good supply of vehicles and there were few custom orders.
  5. I think Ford's is made by Retrax and comes with T-Slot rails which is about $2,800ish. Definitely close to the equivalent Gator. I think the Ford price may include shipping to the dealer and installation.
  6. I agree but how does someone do that once they have placed their order? Do they cancel it and get in the back of the line at another dealer? Do you think Ford should provide some way for buyers to transfer their order to another dealer? There needs to be some way to punish bad dealers without also punishing the buyer. The dealer may be Ford's customer and the buyer may be the dealer's customer but I think Ford (and others) are starting to realize they are the ones looking bad.
  7. and IIRC I think Job 2 builds are supposed to be entered at P 99 initially?
  8. Don't be surprised if base model 23s show up before higher trimmed 22s since they may not have any commodity restrictions. All things being equal, one would expect 22s to arrive first but I doubt it is that simple.
  9. Granger had a customer back out on an order so we lucked out. We flew up last Friday night and drove home pretty much straight through Saturday and Sunday.
  10. Yes. It was not 2% below invoice for me but still cheaper than anything I could find around in my area. I checked their website just for the heck of it and now I am glad I did. I will post up pics after I get it cleaned up.
  11. Our MY22 order was never built and it turned over to a MY23 order. We've been looking for something in stock and not over MSRP. Well I found a new 2022 F-250 CCSB Lariat Tremor, Atlas Blue, 6.7L below MSRP at Granger. Flew out Friday night with the Mrs. and drove back 1,500 miles this weekend. I still have a the MY23 on order and will eventually have to make a decision.
  12. I totally agree. I never thought the MY22 I ordered wouldn't get built but now it is a MY23 order. I bought a few small items that will fit the MY23 but I definitely wouldn't jump on anything pricey.
  13. Maybe not. Ford probably likes to gauge brand loyalty by knowing more about customers with unfilled MY22 orders How many customers re-ordered a MY23 and are staying with Ford How many customers bought a new or used Ford on a dealer lot How many customers bought another brand's new or used truck on a dealer lot How many customers placed orders with another brand.
  14. Who cares if they seem annoyed? They sold you the truck and it is their responsibility to make it right. They need to do the job they are paid to do. If there is another dealer nearby you can have your service and maintenance done there AFTER the truck issues are fixed.
  15. I think that is a lot longer than anyone else has waited for a shipment. There must be more to the story that someone is not telling. I am guessing the truck is missing and nobody wants to admit it.
  16. Have your dealer look them up and tell you. Please reply back if there is one for your 22MY/23MY 'carryover' order because I am hoping for one as well.
  17. 1. Do you think the average person considers a car dealer trustworthy? Most people I know don't and do not like the car buying experience. They do it because they feel they don't have much of a choice. 2. Agreed but you should not have to. A customer should not be excluded from a price or incentive just because they were not aware of it. 3. I didn't say Ford should automatically choose anything. Ford can keep records of what was offered in a time period and make it easy enough for customers and dealers to look it up. 4. Is the average Ford customer supposed to even know what the smart Vincent report is? I only know about it from reading here and other forums. If more dealers focused on truly taking care of shoppers and customers (within reason of course) then they might be considered more trustworthy. I only know of one dealer in my area that customers consider above average and they only sell Toyotas. Toyota doesn't make 3/4 ton trucks so I chose to order a Ford based on Ford things, not based on my local Ford dealership.
  18. If that is the case, then it is unfortunate since the dealers are not always the most reliable source of truth. in any case, if Ford finance is offering interest rate lock ins at order times then someone is keeping records ... I doubt it is up to each dealership.
  19. It doesn't hurt to ask Ford. If their policy is to give you the rate advertised at the time your order was placed then they will keep records. I would not trust the dealership to get it right.
  20. I believe most of the supply chain issues are labor related. There is an easy answer but it costs money. It goes along with the saying: "Fast, Cheap, Correct, Pick any two."
  21. Does it not make you wonder if anyone has even tried to fix it. If there is a lot of labor turnover with the railcar loaders then I would not be surprised if they are just doing things the same way they have always been done or however someone sees fit that day/week. Even though it has been over two years, I would be surprised if anyone has taken the time to analyze and redesign the loading and shipping processes to adapt to the current circumstances.
  22. I agree but Ford's behavior so far says otherwise. I don't like the dealership sales model. It can't go away soon enough.
