  1. Waiting 6+ months for my new F350 has given me plenty of time to acquire accessories and upgrades. First time I've had a garage full of upgrades waiting for a vehicle to put them on. Things like: console refrigerator, exhaust, pedal modifier, tool and fuel box, swing out bedside boxes, oil and filters for the next several changes, 32.5K fifth wheel hitch, gooseneck ball kit, wheel well liners, a ranch in front bumper on order, and other stuff I can't remember the moment. Yes, it's a sickness.......
  2. I received the "shipped" notification the other day ? if the estimate of 30 Apr - 6 May holds it will put me in the 6.5 month timeframe. Holding myself back from asking for an status or location update as I don't want to bug people unnecessarily but I might break down and ask next week
  3. I'd be VERY upset about that and to be honest I fear the same thing when my truck finally gets built. All I can hope is that all these dealers that are bending people over will loose many customers when times are again good. Probably not but I can hope....
  4. Above is likely yet another factor in my F350 build date getting pushed for the 5th time ?
  5. This is my first time ordering a Ford, wish I had known this (this and other above posts) going in. I was told when I ordered that the DORA was the price but it may change a few dollars either way but not much. I did sign an agreement and had to mark off all the extras they tried to sneak in (2k paint protect, 2k glass protection, etc...) but it didn't show the x-plan pricing as "it was a weekend and only the back office can do that". I got the DORA with the x-plan pricing but since then they have told me the price is subject to change. In hindsight I should have taken that as a sign that they were not going to deal with customers straight up and walked out the door. Maybe I should have went expecting to get lied to and went into it from an adversarial perspective but in my profession we don't treat people like that and live by our word (yes, I should have known better as that is apparently an outdated perspective). Regretfully I didn't discover this and other forums like it prior to ordering. Maybe it will all work out if my truck gets built (pushed off 4 times now), but so far the experience has been disappointing. Maybe a sticky like: "THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU ORDER" and populate it with this kind of info. Had I known the issues people are apparently having with various dealers, I would have either traveled for a different dealer or went with a different brand truck altogether although somehow I doubt the other brand dealers are any better. Sorry for the rant but this has been a very frustrating process.
  6. Outstanding, I will hope my dealership is as good ?
  7. In my case, it is a x-plan purchase and I have the original DORA showing the x-plan pricing. It's my understanding that this type of order should be price protected to the original order date. Please correct me if I'm under an incorrect understanding of the situation.
  8. I've been following this (and other) threads closely as theoretically my truck should be built early next month and there are/will be at least 2 price increases since I ordered in in Mid Oct. Much thanks to Ice-Capades and others for the info they have and are providing but it appears that customers are at the mercy of their dealers as to how or even if it will occur. From several posts it appears that there may not be a reliable recourse if you happen to have a non-helpful (or worse) dealer. What bothers me about this longstanding Ford policy is that there doesn't appear to be a actual set process in place and/or that some dealers appear to be claiming they don't know anything about it. It's been said that there are at least two ways it can occur (maybe more, I was uncertain of some posts) if it happens at all. Boggles the mind that such a large and longstanding company doesn't have a well documented/established/directed procedure for such a important to customer satisfaction policy. Based on my purchase experience & communications so far with my dealer (statements they have made about pricing) I fully anticipate this not working out well for me. Being a first time new Ford buyer, so far I'm less than impressed with the process but I remain hopeful.
  9. Thanks for the info, that sounds pretty darn good! Hopefully I'll be in the less than 30 day zone; of course the truck still has to get built but I'm now hopeful for a sometime in April delivery (scheduled for 7 Mar).
  10. I sure hope delivery doesn't take more than 30 days but the way things are, I could see it going longer. What kind of build to delivery times are people seeing?
  11. You may very well be correct, I was getting frustrated and figured as I can do all the things I dropped myself that it was worth a try. But like you said your configuration is similar as is the time line so likely my efforts had no effect ?
  12. Ordered 18 Oct 2021 (F350 Lariat, DRW, 6.7, 5th wheel prep, value package, spray in liner, bed step, cab heat, liners, goose neck ball kit, outfitter switches, hard folding bed cover, etc...) 20 Jan 2022 - Dropped spray in liner, bed step, folding cover, ball kit, liner, & bed step Scheduled on 1 Feb for 7 Mar, bumped to 14 Mar a week later, back to 7 Mar a day later No proof but I assume dropping a couple of those items helped get it scheduled??????? Everything I dropped I can easily add myself, I didn't drop the 5th prep as I didn't want to remove the bed to install it and it's significantly lower cost as an option than to do it afterwords. Best of luck and I hope you get good news soon.
  13. I dropped several options at about the 3.5 month point and two weeks later I was scheduled. I dropped the spray in bed liner, folding bed cover, bed step, and several others but kept the 5th wheel prep as I already have the Ford 32.5k puck system hitch and the gooseneck puck system ball/safety chain points. I did this based on info from this forum so thanks to everyone for that! I'm just glad to finally be scheduled. I'm hoping for the sake of others that are waiting that all these trucks getting scheduled quickly is a good sign that things are moving a bit faster.
  14. Congratulations! 9 days is simply outstanding and hopefully it's a sign of things getting better. What I don't comprehend is how an order of only nine days ago (and well equipped at that) gets scheduled when there are months old orders out there that have yet to be scheduled. Heck, I felt very lucky to have had my truck scheduled in ~4 months as many others are waiting longer. I'm sure there is a process but from the outside looking in.......
  15. Late to the party but wanted to say my experience has been quite the different. I've used it on several rental cars of varying makes and really, really dislike it. It's nothing to do with trusting the tech or not liking tech as all of them did what they were designed to do and did it very well. Now when I rent a car, I google how to disable it before leaving the rental lot. After having experienced this I now understand why the interstate has long convoys of cars going well below the speed limit, the system just piles people up behind the slowest vehicle. The first car with this system was so smooth that I didn't notice it slowing me down until I realized I'd been traveling with a group doing well below the limit. I'm not a aggressive speeder but I tend to drive slightly above the limit and prefer to pass when I come up on slow traffic instead of joining it. I was going to wait a couple of years to order but ordered a 22 as I figure one of these days it will be standard equipment so I jumped in earlier than planned. Maybe in highly congested areas it's better than sliced bread and I would never deny or berate anyone that wants it and feels that it fits their needs. I just wanted to offer a different perspective.
  16. It would be nice if this ends up having some teeth but something tells me it's more of a public relations move. My comment applies to all brands as from what I've seen some dealerships (regardless of brand/make) will price gouge when given the opportunity. I've seen 10K, 20K, and higher mark ups for "market adjustment" on some hard to get vehicles at local dealerships. A few had sold signs on them so as long as people will pay and real repercussions don't occur it will continue.
  17. Got the same thing. Not unexpected but hope it doesn't keep happening.
  18. Thanks everyone, puts my mind at ease a bit. Given the communications I've had with the dealer I'm guessing it will be an issue when the time comes but thanks to all you guys, others who have posted helpful info/advice, and this great forum I should be able to put up a good defense. Thanks again Allen
  19. Thank you, I printed copies of the letter so I have it handy when the truck gets built and delivered. This waiting thing is hard, I know many have waited much longer and I hope they get scheduled soon!
  20. Must have missed that in the 227 pages of this thread, I tried searching for price protection but didn't see anything specific to this situation.
  21. I put 2k down and the at time of order DORA shows the x plan price, but the new DORA shows a higher base price (before options). When I asked for one showing the x plan price, that's when he sent me the "Keep in mind pricing is subjected to change based on cost of parts. Will have a definite price once the truck gets in." statement.
  22. Just got this from my salesman: "Keep in mind pricing is subjected to change based on cost of parts. Will have a definite price once the truck gets in." Doesn't appear to jive with any sort of price protection....
  23. Hello, Reporting some good news and a pricing question/concern. Looks like I won the scheduling lottery as I got a email from Ford saying my DRW F350 is scheduled for production the week of 7 March! I ordered it the 18th of Oct 21 and based on info from this site (thanks to all of you) I decided to drop a few options from my order in hopes of getting scheduled sooner and it apparently worked. On to the question: I got the updated DORA today (for the changes) showing the removal of some options. It didn't have the X-Plan pricing (this is a x plan purchase) like the last one and it shows the non-x plan base price before options to be 58,340.00 vs 57,045.00 on the original DORA. This shows what looks to be a $1295 price bump in the base price. I asked for a new DOAR showing the x plan prices but I'm concerned about the jump in base price. Finally the question: Does price protection apply to this or did I cost myself $1295 by dropping some options? Thanks in advance! Allen

    Hi

Howdy, Long time GM muscle car and Cummins truck guy ordered my first Ford on the 18th of Oct 2021. Okay, for a short time I had a 67 1/2 ton 2wd (30+ years ago). Anyway I've got a F350 DRW on order (Lariat) that I'm hoping Ford sees fit to build this year...... Still have several GM muscle cars, a 32 Chevy street rod, and will keep my 04 RAM 2500 (bought new Cummins/6 speed) as I need a off road/wood/parts hauler and don't want to beat up my new truck :-) Anyway, thanks for the add Allen
